★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1No bang for a lot of bucks! It’s been a while since I’ve been to petco and I got a nice little reminder why. I always hit the LFS (local fish store) but I needed to make a quick purchase on fish food. Item price online and in the store shelf price tag said 10.99$ for 8oz bring shrimp. I grabbed 2, went to pay and it was 30$! Not wanting to sound like I ain’t got it I paid, my fault. I got the receipt and was charged 12.99$ each plus tax. I practically was charged a 3rd 8oz bag of food. Kona Reef 100% for my needs from now on!
August 21 · Juan Mendez**DO NOT COME TO THIS STORE!! Terrible customer service and staff unwilling to help.**I visited this Petco location on May 14, 2025, and had one of the most frustrating retail experiences I’ve ever had. I had placed an online order for dog food two hours before arriving and came in to pick it up. A woman, likely in her mid-20s, was folding towels when I approached and explained why I was there. She immediately told me she couldn’t help me without a confirmation number and made no effort to assist beyond that. I explained I didn’t have any dog food left at home and really needed the order. She simply repeated that without a number, there was nothing she could do. Once I pulled out my phone and gave her the confirmation number, she said the order wasn’t marked as a pickup and wouldn’t be ready until the next day. That’s completely false because I checked out specifically as a pickup order.I asked again if there was any way she could help me, and she still said no. When I asked her name, she refused to give it, saying she wasn’t comfortable sharing it. I then asked to speak to a manager, but—surprise—there wasn’t one on site.Eventually, someone named Armando came out and at least attempted to help. I explained the situation, including how unhelpful the other employee had been. He checked me out and completed the order, which only confirmed that it *could* have been done from the start. The woman never apologized, never offered a solution, and seemed more interested in closing the store than helping a customer. Sadly, this isn’t the first time I’ve had poor service from her specifically. If you value basic customer service and being treated with respect, **avoid this location at all costs**.
May 14 · Claudia RamosI went to get vaccines for my kitten that I got from the shelter. I figured he was too young for the vaccines but the medical records I received for him told me the vaccines were due that week so I went. The man that did the check in, Jordan, was very nice and went to check with the women doing the vaccines to make sure he was old enough. I’m assuming the women didn’t know I could hear everything they were saying because they were very condescending about me not knowing he was too young for shots. This is my first cat and I just want to make sure I am doing everything right by him. I didn’t appreciate feeling dumb when I personally think the age cats get vaccinated is not common knowledge.
August 24 · Isabel thielI came on a day off with my two children, 4 and 3 to get dog food and kitten items as I support Petco normally as a pet parent. After grabbing some supplies my two daughters told me they had to go potty, and I myself forget the bathroom code as I work at multiple petco sites and can’t always remember each code. I sent my husband to ask for the code with the girls and he came back telling me the cashier was completely rude and barked at him saying “no bathroom only in and out in and out” is what she had said making him feel uncomfortable and as if he weren’t a paying customer. I said no what the heck these kids HAVE to go. As a person everyone knows children cannot hold it long. I asked another employee meanwhile both my daughters are doing the “peepee dance” which means impending accident and looked at them and told me no. After saying I work here I would really appreciate as an associate if you can let my children go they are going to pee their pants! He immediately said no and continued mopping the floor. I left ALL my products and ran to find a bathroom for my children. As an associate of Petco, I’m fully appalled at the blatant lack of compassion shown to my children. I am understanding that it is not open to the public and these people owe me no favors as a person parent or associate, but watching two children struggle to hold it in and still turn them away shows no care for human need. I would never in my life turn children down who are actively doing the potty dance in front of me no matter what or I’d at least offer to go ask the manager quickly if it was ok to make an exception for these children. I would never wish this experience on another parent or child to deal with the embarrassment of having an accident because another human being showed no compassion towards them and I myself will never return to this store as a shopper. If I have to work here on site normally, I will also make sure I show more compassion to others than the normal employees seem to towards others. Other than that Petco has now lost a shopper and a happy employee.
