Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce
For pet owners in the Mesa, Arizona area, finding reliable and accessible veterinary care is a top priority. Banfield Pet Hospital is a widely recognized name that provides a comprehensive range of veterinary services, catering to the health and wellness needs of dogs and cats. Located conveniently within a popular retail space, this animal hospital focuses on a preventive approach to pet health, with a goal of keeping your furry family members happy and healthy for life. The clinic is equipped to handle a variety of medical needs, from routine vaccinations to complex surgical care, and is committed to being an accessible and welcoming resource for the local community.
Banfield Pet Hospital operates with a focus on structured pet health services, often through their Optimum Wellness Plans. These plans are designed to make routine and preventive care more manageable and affordable for pet owners. The services offered cover a wide spectrum of veterinary medicine, ensuring that your pet receives consistent care throughout every stage of their life. From the early stages of a new puppy or kitten to the special needs of a senior pet, Banfield aims to provide continuous support and medical attention. While the clinic's corporate structure and approach have been a point of discussion among pet owners, the hospital is built to handle a high volume of patients, making it a readily available option for many in the Arizona region.
Banfield Pet Hospital is located at 6632 E McKellips Rd, Mesa, AZ 85215, USA. This location is particularly convenient as it is situated within a PetSmart store, offering pet owners the benefit of a one-stop-shop for their veterinary and pet supply needs. The clinic has a wheelchair-accessible car park, ensuring ease of access for all visitors. This consideration for accessibility is a key part of their commitment to serving the entire Mesa community. To manage patient flow and reduce wait times, Banfield strongly recommends that pet owners make appointments in advance. While this may require some planning, it helps ensure that the staff is prepared for your pet's specific needs and that your visit is as efficient as possible. The location's presence in a well-known retail center makes it a familiar and easy-to-find destination for anyone living in or around Mesa.
The accessibility and structured nature of a large chain like Banfield can be a significant advantage for busy Arizona families. The ability to drop off your pet for a service and pick them up later provides flexibility, which is often a necessity in a fast-paced world. The consistent hours and weekend availability also make it easier to fit pet care into a busy schedule. However, it's also noted that the corporate model can sometimes lead to a feeling of being rushed or a lack of personalized communication, as mentioned in some customer reviews. The hospital's focus on a systematic approach to care can be both a strength, in terms of efficiency, and a weakness, in terms of personalized interaction.

What is worth choosing
Choosing Banfield Pet Hospital in Mesa, Arizona, means opting for a veterinary provider that prioritizes accessibility and preventive care through structured plans. The Optimum Wellness Plans are a significant highlight, offering a predictable cost for routine visits, vaccinations, and other key services. For many pet owners, this can be a great way to budget for their pet's health and ensure they receive regular check-ups without unexpected financial strain. The convenience of the location inside PetSmart is also a major plus, making it easy to combine a vet visit with a quick trip for food and other supplies.
However, it's important for pet owners to be aware of the potential downsides of a large corporate practice. Some customers have expressed concerns about communication and feeling like their pet's specific symptoms were not thoroughly investigated. Reviews highlight instances where a lack of direct consultation with a doctor led to frustration. The feeling of being "brushed off" or upsold on expensive tests without a clear diagnosis is a recurring theme. This is where an owner’s intuition and advocacy for their pet become paramount. While the hospital offers a wide range of services and can be a good choice for routine care and wellness plans, pet owners with complex or undiagnosed conditions should be prepared to ask detailed questions and ensure they receive the personalized attention they need. The streamlined nature of the business can be both a benefit and a challenge, and it's essential for clients to engage proactively to get the most out of their experience.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1if you care about your animals do not take them to this location. i came in i because i thought my cat has been having an asthma attack once a day for the past week. i showed a video the doctor came did the wellness exam said her breathing sounds “normal” her neck does NOT look extended out ( see the picture below yes it does ) i went home and she proceeded to have 5 asthma attacks in one day. ( see the picture of her struggling to breathe during the attack ) i made an appointment at else where (follow your intuition owners and advocate for your pet) i showed a video immediately diagnosed with asthma. i could not imagine if i let her continue having asthma attacks or possibly not breathe thinking she was okay due to their exam. they brush you off as i see many comments below saying.
March 18 · Emily KruhajI took my dog to Banfield Hospital. No one counseled with me. I thought that my dog might have Cushings disease. If the doctor would have met with me before getting a test for Cushings disease, maybe she could have seen if she had any other symptoms of another problem. Instead, they took her to have her tested for the disease, without talking with me or seeing if she even was a candidate to have the test done. A few hours passed, the receptionist called out my name, told me the charges and handed me my dog. No doctor spoke with me about my dog. Not even the next day! The receptionist told me that the doctor who did the test on my dog, no longer works there. I called within the next few days for the doctor in charge and she said the test was negative and that was it. So strange on how everything went. So vague and disorganized.I would have liked her to observe my dog’s symptoms, and ask me questions about my dog and tell me what she thought. Determine if I should have had the test done on my dog or if she saw any other underlying conditions that could be causing her discomfort. I am not a doctor, but I thought maybe my dog had Cushings disease, so I took her to the appointment. They just took her, had her tested for Cushings disease because I thought it might be that disease. Then afterwards gave me my dog and charged me a lot of money. I was left hanging with no doctor to see me with my dog. My dog still pees all over my house often. I wish the doctor would have consulted with me. Maybe she could have helped my dog and go a different direction in her care.
March 17 · Connie RalonI had a very disappointing experience at this vet clinic. From the moment the nurse called us back, her attitude was rude and dismissive. She didn’t acknowledge my dog at all—not even a hello or a gentle gesture. Instead, she just bluntly asked, “So what’s going on?” which immediately made me feel uneasy.I was already hesitant about coming here because of the negative reviews, and now I understand why they exist. The staff should be kind and reassuring, especially when dealing with pets and their concerned owners. I would never feel comfortable letting my dog go alone in the back with people who show such little care or compassion.I ultimately decided to walk out before even seeing the doctor. I can’t trust my pet’s care to a place where respect and empathy seem to be lacking. I strongly urge other pet owners to consider this before making an appointment.
May 19 · Makyla MarieWe had a very good experience with this Banfield location. It was the first time that we have visited a Banfield, and they were able to squeeze us in at the last minute. We had recently adopted a rescue cat, and when we got her home, she became sick. Other vets that I called were at least a week out with open appointments. We went into the store late in the afternoon and spoke with the front desk person, who, despite being very busy, was able to give us an appointment the next day. The visit itself was great, and the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Our kitty is doing well now, and we will certainly be using this Banfield for our other pets. To the staff, thank you so much for everything.
November 13 · John Payne***They say to contact them by email, but after sending two emails with no response, it becomes clear that no one is interested in helping. The service is bad enough, and the lack of support makes it even worse!Extremely disappointed with the service at Banfield Pet Hospital. Despite the fact that they were trying to take a significant amount of money from me, the diagnosis for my dog was inaccurate. It felt like the veterinarians were conducting tests blindly, without any clear direction or consideration for my pet's well-being. I got the impression that they were more interested in getting as much money out of me as possible, rather than providing quality care. If they don't change their approach, I wouldn't recommend this clinic to anyone.
