★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I will never go back to this location, and I’m honestly not sure I will ever go back to a Banfield.I brought my senior cat into this location. The front desk staff was extremely rude and cold. They barely communicated with me and made me feel like I was a burden for even brining my cat in.In the room, I only saw the actual doctor for 2 minutes, not even. The rest of the appointment was with the nurse who was a very young girl - probably fresh out of school. I will say she was the ONLY kind staff member. I was told he had severe dental problems and that he was having kidney function problems. Things did not look very good for my cat, but I was given hope and instructions on how to administer his medicine myself. I was then presumed into getting on a senior wellness plan and told to set up a follow up appointment the next week with him.Unfortunately, my cat did not make it through the weekend. The medicine seemed to have made him worse. I am not necessarily blaming that on Banfield, but there were things that they missed that I’m shocked about. I took my cat to a different emergency vet hospital. I explained what Banfield had told me about his condition. This vet told me that my cat had a completely different condition ( a tumor in my cat’s mouth.) And I was advised to put my baby to sleep. That Monday I called Banfield to let them know what had happened. The front desk staff on the phone was really nasty about my cat’s death, and apparently never took it down to cancel my appointment, even though my cat was no longer in this world. The day of what would’ve been his follow up appointment I was called by the front desk staff to ask where I was. I had to remind them that I called to let them know my cat had passed, and nobody had taken note of it. As soon as I reminded them, they were nasty with me again…This was almost a year ago. I recommend no one goes here with their cats. I’m giving two stars just because of the one kind young nurse.
August 17 · Tara O'MalleyI’ve always had a great experience with Banfield. We used to visit the one at the University ave , and we had wonderful things to say about it. Now that we’re so local, we go to the one on High Street. We recently rescued a little kitten, and they couldn’t have been more helpful. They managed to squeeze us in . They took care of all the vaccinations, deworming, and other necessary treatments . They contacted me if anything else was needed. The staff was very nice, as was the vet. They also followed up with calls to see how the kitten was doing after any shots or procedures.I would definitely recommend them, especially since it’s very convenient if you live in the neighborhood. We also had the kitten neutered at a larger Banfield practice, which was easy to organize. Excellent experience overall
May 19 · lydia maddenVery nice staff. Helpful for my anxious pup .My only complaint is everything has an ‘upsell’. My dog has a routine medication he receives monthly, but to obtain his shot he must have a vet visit ($95). Or a tech visit ($65). When there has been no change in health or status. Always ‘offering’ more services, but at an increased cost. Leave there feeling like I’ve been fleeced every time .
July 07 · john oreillybianca was so sweet from the beginning. she checked us in smoothly and made our dogs feel comfortable. then we got taken in by brian and he was a bundle of joy!! he made sure the dogs only needed the shots necessary and not extra charges!!! overall super sweet staff and amazing service!!!
April 10 · Alison O'ConnorFirst and last time ever stepping foot into this location. Initially called weeks ago, set up appointment. As appointment day drew near, they sent a confirmation text TWICE, I confirmed both. The day before the appointment, I received a call from them to confirm my appointment YET AGAIN. Through conversation, I was told they had an opening half an hour earlier if I would like to switch to that. I confirmed that would be great and was told it was all set.The following day we show up at the earlier time we had confirmed over the phone less than 24 hours ago to be told that our appointment still showed at the half an hour later time and the earlier appointment time we showed up for was booked. Absolutely unapologetic attitude from the older woman with short brown hair at the front desk on Saturday 3/29/25. She proceeded to take absolutely no responsibility and acted like she was doing us a favor by “doing her best to get us in and out as fast as possible”. Not a single apology for the fault of their own mistake. This would not have been a problem if they never called to confirm a THIRD time, after we confirmed TWICE through their text request and then make the offer to bump up our appointment time as then we would have showed up half an hour later at our original scheduled time.Their appointment confirmation system apparently is trash. The attitude/professionalism of their receptionist/scheduler is even worse. The Braintree Forbes Road location is a much better branch; apologetic and emphatic with our situation. They squeezed us into their schedule that same afternoon due to this Westwood High Street’s scheduling mistake and lack of professionalism.
