★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I take all three of my dogs to Dr Sharon, one of which is about sixteen years old. I call for a refill of a mild pain medication, and am told it will be ready shortly by ‘David’ and that I will get a call back.Six hours later I call back and speak to ‘Sam’ who informs me that the prescription cannot be filled, and they cannot provide me a written script to take anywhere else because Dr Sharon is on vacation until Thursday.I ask Sam, if she feels it’s reasonable that my sixteen year old dog go for several days without pain support, and she tells me, if it were her she would take her dog to be examined somewhere else, and that maybe another vet can provide the script.I find this to be completely unacceptable, and insulting, disorganized and actually cruel. My dog is at the end of her life and uncomfortable. This after over a decade I’ve taken my pets here, and most of my family also.I think it’s time to find a better organized vet. At the very least, if the script cannot be filled, a print of whatever script is on file should be available. Outrageous.
August 25 · cheryl bohlinNot only is this office the CUTEST vet office I’ve ever seen, they are also the KINDEST. Nicole and Natalie were so sweet and Dr Sharon was very kind and professional and informative. Our cat gets scared easily and he was comfortable with them and was curious to explore. I can’t express enough how great they were and truly cared for our animal. They even made him a personalized folder with his photo! We all left happy & it smelt amazing in there! Like gingerbread! Made it enjoyable for even the humans to go. 100% recommend. Thank you ladies!❤️
September 22 · Cynthia HewsonThis is my second review. We have been with Dr. Sharin for 4 years- coming to Barnside after a nightmare of occurrences in other places. I had dogs my whole life; however since I was a new kitty mom when Alexander came to me for help in a parking lot during a blizzard (which led to 2 more), I had many questions to try and understand cats and debunk the myths as well as concerns that were not adressed in other places. From the minute we met Dr. Sharin- we knew we finally found our "vet". The staff is professional, helpful and ready to assist you with whatever you need. Concerns and questions are adressed and Dr. Sharin is knowledgeable, transparent, honest and will tell you straight up whats going on and what your options are. She has a wonderful bedside manner with your pets and when my cats got a little on the "hefty" side- sat with us giving us a little lesson on nutrition- giving us information, adding up the calories of what we were feeding them, and a correct, heathy caloric intake plan to administer (Onyx, our angora "fatty catty", wasn't too happy with her or his new diet plan to be honest). When I was leaving for my big trip to CA -all 3 got sick a week before and the constant televisits and prescriptions were so prompt and helpful that I didn't have to cancel. The most recent event that made me write my second review was my oldest cat becoming sick several days ago, rushed to the ER and admitted to the ICU at Red Bank Vet Hospital. After a series of tests and different doctors finding different things-it came down to getting him into surgery when something was discovered in the intestines as the root cause of the illness. We wanted to seek Dr. Sharin's advice on the next course of action since in the past we paid a high cost with our dogs to not have great outcomes. One day, they went to speak to her and she quickly read results between patients and told us to come in later on. The most recent was yesterday and since Dr. Sharin was on vacation- the office heard our concerns and we filled out a ticket for a televisit. Dr. Sharin- who was on her day off camping-got back to me immediatley-managed to read screenshots of ultrasound results and we had an ongoing conversation. The dicussion not only included and started with her professional expertise and opinion- but ended with "I know how much you love him" (which really resonated with me and helped) followed by guidance and support on what options and realistic outcomes we had. Furthermore, when I received a promising test result hours later (in the evening) that was the key factor in deciding to go ahead with the surgery or not, I took the chance to still see if she was available (even though televist was done much earlier)and sent a quick text asking her if the expesive surgery was worth it based on the result-she got back to me in minutes. You do not find many vets doing that on a day off while camping and driving. As Dr. Sharin says "when you have pets- you have problems!" If you are like me, a mom of human kids and furry kids- and your furry ones matter just as much as the human ones (let's be honest-we moms know that at times we choose the furry ones over the human ones), this is the best place for your pet and for your peace of mind.
