Inland Valley Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Center Introduce
When a pet faces a health crisis, finding a veterinary team that is not only highly skilled but also deeply compassionate is crucial. Inland Valley Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Center, located in Upland, California, is a facility designed to meet these critical needs. As an animal hospital, emergency veterinarian service, and veterinary pharmacy all in one, it serves as a vital resource for pet owners throughout the region. The hospital handles a wide range of cases, from unexpected emergencies to specialized care, offering a professional and supportive environment during a difficult time.
The experience of a pet owner whose German Shepherd, Prince, was treated at the center provides a powerful testament to the team's dedication. Facing a serious leg injury with a potential for amputation, the owner was met with a team that committed to a non-amputation approach, prioritizing natural healing. The communication and support received were exceptional, with the staff providing regular updates, including photos of Prince's progress. This level of transparency and personal attention is rare and highly valued by pet owners. The successful healing of Prince's severe wounds, which had once exposed bone, stands as a clear example of the clinic's expertise and persistence. The gratitude expressed by the owner toward the entire team, from Dr. Jeffery P. and manager Douglas to the receptionists, highlights a culture of care and collaboration. This is a place that truly goes the extra mile for pets and their families.
However, it is important for potential clients to be aware of all facets of a business. One review details a heartbreaking and deeply distressing experience involving the mishandling of a dog's remains after cremation. The review, while expressing appreciation for the staff's overall hard work, describes a "colossal mistake" in paperwork that led to a cherished family pet being lost and cremated as "community property." The review highlights issues with communication, as the owner had to repeatedly call the clinic over a three-day period to get a straight answer, and felt that management failed to take immediate responsibility by not proactively reaching out. This tragic event underscores the critical importance of clear communication and careful attention to detail in every aspect of veterinary care, especially in sensitive matters like end-of-life services. While this review represents a profound negative experience, the owner's painful honesty can provide important context for the rare but serious risks that can occur in any service-based industry.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My beautiful dog died. It was heartbreaking. She was with us from birth until death, 13 years. She grew up with our kids, and she was my baby. As a family we decided to cremate her. We paid just short of $600.00 for her cremation, her paw prints, her treatment at the clinic. We expected to get her ashes back and paw prints. We wanted her remains with us. Unfortunately, someone at the clinic made a colossal mistake and checked the wrong information on the paperwork. She was marked as community property instead of privately owned. Our dog got "lost" and was cremated and thrown into a field somewhere. I couldn't process this when I was finally told the truth. What made things so much worse was the fact the clinic NEVER called me. I was the one that called over a three day period asking the status of her remains. In the first call, the young lady said, "I wasn't in the system." That made me feel something was wrong. When they didn't call me back after they said they would, I called the next day. Again, I was given the run around and lied to when I asked point blank if they had lost my dog? The young lady said, "No, it's just busy, and I need to look into this further. I'll call you back." They didn't. So, I called a third day. Same thing and the run around. I asked for the manager. The manager came on, and apologized for the mistake. I was refunded the money and a keepsake was ordered. However, trying to wrap my mind around how this happened in the first place was extremely hard. My entire family cannot process this tragedy. We were crying and grieving when our dog died on Mother's Day. I trusted them to do their job. The front office was on their personal phones. I'm sure this contributed to the mistake. But, for management to know this happened and NOT call me, or the owner to not call me, that was extremely painful and hurtful all the more. I had to call and call and call to get answers. I know my dog was an animal, but I considered her family. Imagine how anybody would feel if this had happened to their beloved animal. I feel sick and heartbroken. I don't know how to process this. I'll have to work through my feelings and learn to let it go. While I appreciate the refund, keepsake and apology, that's the least they could do, how will the damage this has created be repaired? How will my children's hearts be mended. It's just unthinkable. I'm sure these folks are nice people, and they work hard. I'm sure it wasn't intentional. I hope not. But, on this day and on this matter, everything that could go wrong went terribly wrong. I'm sorry, too, that I'll not be able to grieve her properly or have her remains with me or our family. It will always be incomplete. Every time I think of my beautiful dog, this terrifying experience taints her memory. I try to find the beauty of her smile and the good memories, but it's so hard she's been thrown into a field somewhere, and she's not with us but literally scattered around with the dust of the earth. Bye, my beautiful Bella. I will always love you.
May 29 · S. R.I cannot thank this emergency vet team enough for the incredible care they gave my German Shepherd, Prince. When I brought him in, his condition was serious—there was a real possibility he’d lose his leg. But instead of jumping straight to amputation, they told me they would do everything they could to help his wounds heal naturally. They worked on him every other day, and each visit felt personal and thorough. What really stood out to me was how communicative and supportive everyone was. I was constantly updated with pictures of Prince’s progress, and the staff always took the time to explain every step and answer every question I had. That level of care and transparency is something I’ve rarely seen at other vet offices. They truly went above and beyond, making accommodations whenever possible and treating Prince like their own. Thanks to their persistence and care, his wounds, which once showed bone on both sides, are now completely healed.Special shoutout to Dr. Jeffery P., Douglas the manager, all of the receptionists who patiently took my many calls, and every staff member who had a hand in helping Prince recover. You are all amazing, and I’m beyond grateful. If you’re looking for a place that genuinely cares and will go the extra mile for your pet, I wholeheartedly recommend bringing them here.
May 13 · Nushan FalatoonzadehThey did surgery on my dog and even though he wad having complications Dr. Trostle never returned any of my calls for about a week. I called multiple times a day and his vet techs said he would call back but every day he just went home without calling. They also told me not to transport him because of his fresh surgery.Dr. Trostle and Dr. Patlogar ignored my repeated calls as he slowly and painfully died over the course of a week. He suffered and finally died a horrible death in front of my 2 year old son.No other vet would even look at him because they said Dr. Trostle did the surgery so he needed to be the one to treat him. I was ignored even after my sweet dog painfully suffered and died. Even to this day, Dr Trostle never called. Dr. Patlogar (the hospital manager) only spoke to us after NEWS reporters started calling too. They finally admitted their wrongdoing and offered a settlement for the replacement cost of my dog (he was purebred but they depreciated his value since he was an adult). Please do not take any animal to these horrible people. I cannot fathom how they sleep at night while their post-surgical dog suffers and finally dies in excruciating pain. They could not even bother to return a phone call. It was as if they wanted him to suffer an agonizing death over the week. My 2 year old son watched his best friend suffer and die in front of him because these awful people couldn't be bothered to pick up the phone and follow up with their surgical patient.
September 03 · JudithI took my blackjack in to this hospital he was a 3 year old cat. We was having trouble eating for a few days before we took him in the this hospital. They did all the testing and took very good care of him. Unfortunately he had a very aggressive cancer. The doctor performed surgery on him sent out results. He was doing OK the first day after surgery and then he wasn't. The doctor suggested we put him down. It was so very hard for me. This hospital is so very considerate, the doctor called me today and gave me closure gave me the results of the test. He is a very caring doctor. I am blessed to have them care for my special baby. Thank you Ruegeana Pennington
