★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I am extremely dissatisfied with my recent experience at the Issaquah Petco grooming salon due to the unprofessional conduct of management lead, Hope.I brought my dog in on 07/27/25 for a bath full-service grooming package, which includes anal gland expression upon request. Hope dismissed my request, claiming it was only necessary for a “fishy” smell, and refused to perform it, instead offering an upsell for shampoo, which I declined because the package as is, has historically been sufficient.Within days, the odor returned, and a car accident I was involved in temporarily delayed my ability to contact Petco. I reached out on 08/09, and a store manager acting on the GM behalf, contacted me on 08/11. She stated that Hope claimed the anal gland service had been performed, which directly contradicted what the Hope stated upon picking my pup up at the previous appointment. We were both confused by this contradiction, but she offered a complimentary re-bath, and anal gland expression as a solution. This was scheduled for 08/14.Despite calling ahead to inform staff that I would be arriving slightly late (10 min) for the 08/14 apt, I was met with hostility, and told I needed to reschedule for the service for 08/17. On 08/17, prior to the appointment, I contacted petco as I noticed only the anal gland expression had been scheduled. Hope stated that if the glands were “built up,” she could not perform the bath, but if not, she would. We arrived early, and Hope started by checking the glands using only paper towels, then handled my dog without washing her hands raising serious hygiene, and sanitation concerns. She then refused the bath unless I paid, despite it being promised by the GM. When I requested she honor the service, she claimed the GM never should have offered a complimentary bath, then instead offered 30% off in a very hostile, and condescending manner. I declined this “discount” and instead informed her, that based on her behavior, I no longer felt my dog was safe under her care. That this was my second visit both of which she mishandled, and the service was still not completed. That refusing to honor a promised service is unethical, and unacceptable. I then informed Hope that it was evident that she never planned to bath my pup based on her Paradoxical actions, vs her stated assurances.I previously worked in customer service for many years, and have never encountered someone in her position behaving so unprofessionally. Hope’s demeanor, and attitude were disrespectful, unsanitary, and undermined the credibility of this location’s management. I strongly urge corrective action, and highly recommend avoiding this location, as long as Hope is employed.I will be formally reporting Hope, and ensuring that Petco upholds its high standards for; safety, quality, and pet care, as she repeatedly failed to meet these fundamental standards.
August 17 · Molly MorrisonThe register did not ring up my purchase at the sale price, which I did not notice until I got home and when I drove back down instead of just refunding me the price difference they made me do a return and then re-purchase at the correct sale price.Since the manager Renee was at lunch, I asked for the regional manager’s name and number and called him while sitting in front of the store and it’s been two days now and he has not bothered to call me back so obviously this Petco store and the regional manager care nothing about customer satisfaction
April 29 · Kat MarcosToday I had one of the worst experiences ever. I had placed an order for pickup in my name, but the store person would not give me my order because in their system my name is not being shown. I showed that I’m the pickup person in the order and he would not agree. It was a problem with their system. But instead of acknowledging that, he was showing so much attitude towards me. What a horrible customer service.
May 10 · Rakshith BellamaneWhat a Nightmare interaction!!! Jumped in, to get a few cat supplies. And, when checking out, I was given a very hard time about the $100 bill I paid with. For a few seconds before all of that, I was questioning briefly, WHY the amount was so high. But, got distracted with HOW big of deal they were making, and forgot to ask. The guy who rang me up, spent a good 5-10 mins, trying to verify it was real. Said he couldn't, and called up a manager. He came up, and same thing! Asked if I had another $100 to pay with instead. More time going by, trying to verify it. Then, finally said that, if it's not, I'll be hearing from them. Seriously!!! I guess I looked like someone, who prints money on my printer at home! A good 30, or longer, and I was finally leaving. FFWD a few days, and I was bring back the cat food because my cats wouldn't go near it to another Petco, and saw that I was charged for 2 bags (hence the high amount). I mentioned it to the manager at this location, and he looked at me, like I was lying. Said I had to contact the store I went to. His associate standing by, had the nerve to say, "Goodluck!" Uh huh! I did go back and spoke to the same manager, and after a bit of refreshing his memory, finally got it taken care of. Gheez!
March 30 · Kumiko NaganoI didn't buy anything. I was looking for bugs for my bearded dragons. All of the bugs were dead or too large. Millworms roaches hornworms. Hornworms too big and stored upside down. Millworms most were dead. I don't feed fruit flies. The hornworms were alive but too large for my dragons to eat. Nice selection too pricey
