When it comes to choosing a pet store, customer experiences often tell the most important story. Petco in Rogers has received a variety of feedback, and it's important to consider both the positive and negative to make an informed decision. One customer's experience highlights a significant issue with a specific staff member's attitude and a store policy regarding opening products for inspection. This kind of feedback underscores the importance of friendly and helpful staff, especially for loyal customers and those involved in animal rescue, who often require large quantities of products. Another review raises a serious concern about the health of live animals, specifically fish, sold at the store. The customer's detailed account of a fish illness spreading to their established tanks and causing a significant loss of life points to a critical area of improvement in quality control and animal welfare.
While these experiences are concerning and suggest that there may be inconsistencies in customer service and live animal health protocols, it is important to remember that they are not representative of every visit. However, they do provide a valuable perspective on what to be mindful of. For a pet owner, choosing a store is a matter of trust. Trust in the quality of the products, the knowledge of the staff, and the health of the animals being sold. It's clear that Petco offers a massive selection and convenient services, but for some, the core issues of staff professionalism and animal health may outweigh these benefits. It is wise for customers to remain vigilant, inspect any live animals they plan to purchase carefully, and communicate openly with the staff about their needs and concerns. The store’s ability to offer a vast inventory and multiple service options remains a strong point for many.

The lady up front said she would send somebody to help open a medium sized crate for I could see the size even though it has dimensions us old people I need to see. The lady started to help me. Then a man come up red, headed, rude, a hoe, and so we can't open that. Why can't they use it for a display?More than likely I was going to buy it since i'm needing so many. But the rudest aho I ever met smug smitten lucky owned the world. Well, when somebody has thirty one dogs at their house, fostering and rescuing and non permanent, you're losing a customer big time forever. Went straight to pet land where they where happy to open with out hesitation and a big smile so I bought two. And will be back to buy more. Just now leaving two you g smiling young ladies even helped me load. Never used this brand before but it looks even better quality.
March 06 · Vivian Marie ThorntonI wanted to give more stars for the friendliness of the staff in there but this review is not to the staff but to the store and it's wellness.I have been a loyal Petco customer for years, frequently purchasing fish for my aquariums. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was extremely painful, disappointing and costly. The last batch of fish I bought from Petco 2 weeks before appeared healthy at the time of purchase but turned out to be infected. Within a day, the infection spread rapidly, wiping out two of my established tanks and causing the devastating loss of over 30 fish. Despite my meticulous care, proper acclimation, and quarantine procedures, the poor health of these fish led to an outbreak that forced me to reset both of my aquariums from scratch. What’s most frustrating is that this could have been avoided with better quality control and proper health checks by Petco. While I understand that illnesses can sometimes be unpredictable, selling infected fish is unacceptable. When I called the store manager, I was told their tanks are well-maintained and that "it could have been just one or two sick fish." But that one sick fish ended up costing me over 30.Petco, as a responsible pet store, should prioritize the health and well-being of the animals they sell. Proper maintenance of tanks, regular health checks, and improved care could prevent situations like this.Until I see significant improvements, I will be taking my business elsewhere to ensure the safety of my aquariums.
February 07 · SeenuMy daughter took her new kitten to the Vet at PetCo. Had an excellent exam, vaccines, started Revolution +, at an affordable price (and coupons from signing up with the CORE program). We feel very confident with their care.
August 17 · Nadine AlexI recently visited the Petco store in Rogers, Arkansas several times this week and was extremely disappointed by the state of their fish tanks and the overall management of the store. The conditions in which the fish are kept are unacceptable and reflect poorly on the store’s commitment to animal welfare.Firstly, the fish tanks were dirty and poorly maintained. The glass was covered in algae, obstructing the view and creating an unhealthy environment for the fish. The bottom of the tanks was also filthy, with debris and waste accumulating, indicating a lack of regular cleaning and maintenance. Moreover, some of the fish were dead and others appeared to be in distress, displaying signs of poor health. This suggests that the water quality is not being monitored or managed correctly, which is essential for the well-being of aquatic life.In addition to the poor conditions of the tanks, the overall management of the store seemed lacking. There was no staff available in the aquatic section for 30 minutes to assist with inquiries or provide information about the fish and their care. This lack of oversight and care for the animals is concerning and needs immediate attention.I urge Petco management to address these issues promptly. Regular maintenance of the tanks, proper care for the fish, and adequate staffing are essential to ensure the health and safety of the animals in their care. As a responsible pet store, Petco should prioritize the well-being of all animals and maintain high standards of cleanliness and care.Until these issues are resolved, I cannot recommend this store to anyone looking to purchase aquatic pets. Animal welfare should always come first, and it's disheartening to see these standards not being met at Petco in Rogers, Arkansas.
July 18 · Kerri ChristensenI am beyond disappointed with my recent experience at this Petco location. It is absolutely appalling that they are neglecting the health and well-being of their fish. During my visit, I was horrified to see multiple dead fish floating in the tanks, clearly visible to the public. It is deeply upsetting that these poor creatures were left to decay in front of customers, showing a complete lack of care and responsibility. A pet store should be a place of care and compassion for all animals, yet this establishment has completely failed in that regard. It is not only unethical, but also unacceptable that the staff and management seem indifferent to the suffering of these animals when I brought it up. No animal deserves to be treated this way, and I sincerely hope Petco takes immediate action to address these issues.. Until then, I will not be returning, and I highly encourage others to reconsider where they spend their money.
