Petco Introduce
For many in the California region, pets are more than just animals; they are cherished members of the family. When it comes to their health, happiness, and well-being, having a reliable and well-stocked local resource is essential. Petco, with its location at 1873 Westwood Blvd in Los Angeles, has long been a go-to destination for pet owners seeking a wide array of products and services. As a comprehensive pet store, it caters to a diverse range of animals, from dogs and cats to fish, reptiles, and more, establishing itself as a key part of the local pet-loving community.
This particular Petco store offers a vast selection that aims to meet the needs of all pet types. Whether you're in search of premium dog food, specialized cat diets, supplies for your aquatic companions, or habitats for your scaly friends, you'll find a variety of options on the shelves. The store is designed to be a one-stop shop, saving you from making multiple trips. Beyond the extensive product selection, this Petco location also provides several key in-store services, which are a major draw for many customers. These services, including grooming, training, and a vaccination clinic, offer convenience and professional care all under one roof.
While the size and selection of a large chain like Petco are often seen as a significant benefit, it is important to note that customer experiences can vary. Some customers appreciate the well-stocked nature of the store and the friendly, helpful advice from associates who can assist with their shopping list. Others, however, have noted challenges with product availability, particularly for specific brands like Pro Plan canned cat food, and have expressed mixed feelings about customer service interactions. This underscores the typical experience with a large retailer—while the resources are substantial, individual experiences are dependent on factors such as staff availability and product demand.
The store's commitment to convenience extends beyond its product range. For those with busy schedules, Petco offers several flexible service options, including delivery and in-store pickup, which allows customers to shop online and collect their orders at a time that works for them. This flexibility is especially valuable for quick visits when you know exactly what you need. Petco is also known for its frequent promotions and rewards programs, which can provide significant value to regular customers.
Ultimately, Petco on Westwood Blvd serves as an important resource for the Los Angeles community. It’s a place where pet owners can find most of what they need, often with the added benefit of on-site services. While some aspects of the store’s operations have received mixed feedback, the overall value proposition of convenience, a wide product range, and a variety of accessible services makes it a staple for many California residents.

What is Worth Choosing Petco?
For residents of Los Angeles, choosing Petco on Westwood Blvd offers a significant degree of convenience and a comprehensive selection that is hard to find in smaller, independent shops. While every store has its challenges, the benefits of choosing this location often outweigh them for the average pet owner. The most compelling reason to choose this Petco is its ability to serve multiple needs at once. Instead of driving to separate locations for a vet visit, a grooming appointment, and pet food, you can accomplish it all in a single trip. The availability of services like a vaccination clinic and dog training adds immense value, especially for new pet owners or those with specific needs.
The variety of service options is another key advantage. The ability to choose between in-store shopping, curbside pickup, or delivery means you can fit your pet's needs into even the most hectic schedule. Whether you are on your way home and need to make a quick visit to grab a bag of food, or you want to order all your supplies online and pick them up at a later time, Petco provides the flexibility to accommodate your lifestyle. The subterranean parking is a unique feature in this area, providing a more pleasant experience by protecting you and your purchases from the elements.
While some customer feedback points to occasional issues with product stock or service, it’s important to view this in the context of a large, high-volume retailer. These issues are not uncommon in the retail space. For many, the pros, such as the sheer variety of products and services, the convenient location, and the accessible parking, make this Petco a reliable and efficient choice. The store's commitment to accessibility, from its entrances to its facilities, also makes it a welcoming and inclusive place for all members of the community and their beloved pets. Ultimately, for a pet owner in the Los Angeles area looking for a reliable, comprehensive, and convenient one-stop-shop for all their pet's needs, Petco on Westwood Blvd is a smart and practical choice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Disappointing customer service. Went to go buy my dog a small bag of dog food and she only eats lamb mix. I grabbed a bag of Blue Buffalo and then realized when I got to the front that it had rips in the packaging. Checkout woman said I could buy it since I was already at the front and then go replace it. Went back and that was the only bag I saw. Went back up to wait in line only to be told that it was the only bag of food so I had to take the damaged bag of food at full price.
May 27 · Morgan TaylorI like the subterranean parking, car stays cool or dry. Although this is a large store, we frequently have a lack of selection when we come to buy Pro Plan canned cat food. We need more and more volume . Also more choices of the cat urinary food in Pro Plan.
August 19 · ConnFlicksThey don't have much of a selection in the aquatics section. No shrimp, snails or salt water species as far as I know. They are short staffed and not super friendly, u would go there in a pinch but not much else.
August 01 · Jarryd SchmidtThey keep having an issue with properly storing fridge food. The first time I was handed my items frozen. After I mentioned it to staff they are supposed to be in the fridge not freezer, there was no remorse, or an apology, or even help to replace them from the fridge. I grabbed as many as they had left, and the rest had to be refunded which lost me my one time discount. Then my next order, I went to pick up at the front and after 10 minutes of waiting as they talked with each other trying to decide where my order was (and also about random work stuff), who was supposed to grab it, and to look for it, going to the back and coming back, they found it on the counter next to them, not in the fridge. I said I was uncertain how long the items have been left out. So the cashier said oh they were just placed there not more than 10 minutes ago. but then why were you looking for the order and asking someone else to find it, if you know that. Regardless once the items are picked, they should have been placed in a fridge. I’m careful about it because I’ve had to throw away food in the past that isn’t good. and I’ve also been sold expired rolls. Just wish the food safety was taken more seriously. I’ve stopped buying from this location because I don’t want my pets to get sick.I’ve also seen the marina del Rey location have frozen food out on the floor while cashiers tend to the wash and or customers, even putting away toys first. Frozen and fridge food should be handled properly.Im gonna start shopping at a different pet store. I primarily buy the fresh or frozen food, but I’m not confident in its handling here. Hope this comment helps to bring awareness
August 27 · Michael LeeI like this store-pretty clean, well stocked, helpful people. But the parking garage underneath and stairwell are horrible. Tons of lights out in the garage and the stairwell usually smells of urine and is very dirty
