While some clients praise the speed, attentiveness, and cleanliness of the facility, others have raised concerns about professionalism, communication, and billing practices. This contrast is an important consideration for pet owners exploring their options.

Features / Highlights
The experience at Arbor Veterinary Services is marked by a mix of highly positive and critical feedback, which highlights specific features and areas of concern.
Impeccably Clean Facility: One of the most praised features is the cleanliness of the clinic. A customer noted, "Arbor vet’s lobby and exam rooms are always impeccable and clean!" This attention to cleanliness creates a professional and hygienic environment, which is reassuring for pet owners.
Wide Range of Services: The comprehensive list of services, from routine check-ups to complex orthopedic surgeries, is a significant highlight. Pet owners can receive a broad spectrum of care in one location, which simplifies the management of their pet's health, particularly for those with chronic conditions.
Attentive and Caring Staff (for some): One review highlights the staff as "so attentive, caring and patient" and able to get the pet in "so quick." This suggests a high level of responsiveness and genuine care, which is invaluable for a vet clinic.
Professional and Affordable (for some): A client noted that they were "never been disappointed by the prices" and that the clinic is "definitely affordable if you were looking for a good, reputable vet," suggesting that many find the cost-to-service ratio to be fair. However, other feedback contradicts this with experiences of having to argue over billing for follow-up visits, indicating a potential inconsistency in financial practices.
Issues with Consent and Communication: A detailed review raises serious concerns about the clinic's practices. The client was charged for "2 expensive tests without our consent," and had to repeatedly call to get the results. This highlights a critical breakdown in communication and professional ethics that future clients should be aware of. This same review also mentioned apathetic staff members, which stands in stark contrast to the positive feedback.
Staffing Inconsistency: The reviews suggest a significant disparity in the quality of care and empathy between different vets at the practice. The fact that a client found a specific vet to be "sympathetic and helpful" and "uncaracteristically caring," and then followed her to another practice when she left, is a major highlight of both the positive impact of a good vet and the potential for a less-than-ideal experience with others on the team.

What is worth choosing
Choosing a veterinarian is a deeply personal decision, and Arbor Veterinary Services presents a complex profile for pet owners in New Hampshire to consider. On one hand, the clinic provides an impressive breadth of services, from routine wellness to highly specialized surgeries, all within a notably clean and accessible facility. The positive testimonials about the staff's attentiveness, speed, and overall kindness are compelling and suggest a high level of care is possible. For pet owners who have a simple, straightforward need like a spay or a routine check-up, the clinic appears to be an efficient and capable choice. However, the lengthy and detailed negative review raises significant red flags that cannot be ignored. The reported issues with a lack of consent for expensive tests, billing disputes over follow-up visits, and inconsistent levels of professional empathy among the staff point to serious concerns about patient trust and service consistency. The fact that one family spent close to $10,000 on care, only to feel they had to "argue" over costs and eventually follow a preferred vet to a new practice, is a powerful indicator of potential frustrations. While the clinic's comprehensive medical capabilities are a major asset, prospective clients should be prepared to be highly proactive in their communication, particularly regarding billing and treatment plans, to ensure their experience aligns with their expectations. For those with pets facing serious or chronic conditions, the choice may depend on their ability to work with a specific vet within the practice.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have had four of my dogs fixed at Arbor vet in the past 2 years, and we are also regular customers. I cannot say enough great things about this place! They are always so quick to get me in no matter what I need. They are so attentive, caring and patient.Another big thing I noticed, and am impressed by every time I go I is how clean the facility is. In previous veterinary offices, I have been to, there will be a lingering scent in lobby areas, and in vet, examination rooms due to dogs marking etc. Arbor vet’s lobby and exam rooms are always impeccable and clean!I have never been disappointed by the prices, But I also believe that you get what you pay for and with how fast they are always able to get me in, I have no complaints with the cost. They are definitely affordable if you were looking for a good, reputable vet.
July 29 · Michaela ShawArbor vet is neither a positive place to do business with, nor are they professional. We continued working with them because of our dog's health issues last year, and because they were discounting very expensive medication that our dog needed to survive. In late 2017 our dog started having some health issues. During one of our visits, the veterinarian said she was going to clean our dog's wound. She took her to another room, and did 2 expensive tests without our consent. I would assume we would have at least been asked, and didn't find it appropriate for them to take such actions. To top that off, we were told that we would get the results the following day, but never received a call, and had to call them a several times to get the results. After all this, we decided to continue treatment there because the test that they performed did turn out to be necessary in finding her condition. So I changed my review based on that with a more favorable rating. The test showed that she had something called blastomycosis, that needed immediate treatment. We continued with regular visits, and doing everything we could, including bringing up things that we had researched, to verify with the vet. One of the vets there, at best could be described as apathetic. Fortunately, there was another vet there that we liked going to, so we made sure to set up all of our appointments with her.Unfortunately, we continued going there for over the next year because we had little choice due to our dog's condition, and the fact that one vet there at least seemed sympathetic and helpful, and was willing to talk to a leading researcher that we found of our dogs disease.Just to give you an idea of how serious this issue was, the first month that our dog had this disease, she had lameness, large wounds that were oosing blood, pneumonia, could not eat, nor go to the bathroom on her own. Even our vet admitted that we kept her alive. We physically had to help her go to the bathroom, and had to force feed her liquid foods, just to get her to get something down so she could take her medicine and survive. We couldn't afford emergency care, it was bad enough how much it was costing as the initial month. Unfortunately, it cost us close to $10,000 over the next year, not to mention a couple big downfalls, including her losing her left eye.Despite spending around $10,000 in 2018 they constantly acted like we were imposing on them if we needed a follow-up visit to check our dog's condition. On a few occasions we actually had to argue with them about whether or not it would be considered a follow-up visit, which costs less. They regularly tried charging us the full amount until the vet pointed out that it was for the same condition and was a recheck visit. They wanted to squeeze every dime out of us, despite the fact that they were already making an average of $500-$1,000 per month from us.Fortunately for us, one of the veterinarian's there seemed to spend more time researching than others, and was very helpful, and uncharacteristically caring with our dog's needs, compared to the rest of the staff. Early in 2019, we were told she was no longer there, and wouldn't be coming back. Though, when we went to visit this week, they let us know she would be there on a limited schedule one day per week. She has since moved to working at another practice, and we are going to go there next time our dog needs care. Fortunately, she's okay, but the only thing the Arbor Vet did was provide the medicine we needed. In fact, we even mailed the test ourselves to a lab.We don't recommend this place, and I suggest you take your dog elsewhere if you care about your pet, or you care about the ability to consent to testing. Fortunately, our dog is healthy, and still with us. She went through a terrible year in 2018, and 2019 has been so much better. Ultimately, we are grateful she is alive, we are grateful for the one vet that was there, and wish this experience could have been different.
July 11 · Brian DillardI had to bring bring 16 year old Marlon Brando for his last car ride. I was recommended this office by a friend. I’m hear to tell you that these people were so kind and compassionate and patient with me. They knew it was time and the process was gentle and loving. The whole staff was amazing, his vet was incredible and I couldn’t have asked for a better situation to send off the greatest dog I could have asked for. Thank you truly and sincerely.
