Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce
For pet owners across the Tempe and wider Phoenix metro area, providing the best possible care for our furry family members is a top priority. When it comes to finding a veterinary practice that offers a broad range of services and a structured approach to wellness, Banfield Pet Hospital in Tempe is a notable option. Part of a nationwide network of clinics, this location offers a variety of services aimed at maintaining the health and happiness of pets throughout their lives.
Banfield Pet Hospital is known for its focus on preventive care, which is the foundation of their service model. They emphasize the importance of regular wellness exams, vaccinations, and proactive measures to catch potential health issues early on. This approach is designed to help pet owners stay ahead of common problems and manage their pet's health effectively. One of the primary ways they achieve this is through their popular Optimum Wellness Plans®, which package essential routine services into affordable monthly payments, providing a clear path for ongoing care without the burden of unexpected, large bills for routine visits.
The clinic’s commitment to providing a consistent and organized service is a key part of their brand. The online scheduling system is designed to make it easy for clients to book appointments at their convenience. However, some customers have reported issues with the online scheduling system, noting a disconnect between the website's booking availability and the clinic's internal records. One review highlighted a frustrating experience where a pet owner scheduled a much-needed appointment for a cat with urinary issues, only to arrive and be told no such appointment existed. This reflects a need for improved communication and system integration to ensure every visit goes smoothly.
While some experiences with customer service have been challenging for some clients, other reviews praise the compassion of individual veterinarians. One customer, dealing with their senior dog's end-of-life care, specifically commended a particular doctor for being "very compassionate" during a difficult time. This suggests that while overall customer service can be inconsistent, the dedication of the veterinary staff themselves is a significant strength of the clinic.
The Banfield Pet Hospital in Tempe is conveniently located at 1900 E Rio Salado Pkwy Ste 110, Tempe, AZ 85288, USA. Accessibility is a key feature of this location, which offers a wheelchair-accessible car park to accommodate all clients. This is not pet insurance but a financial tool to help budget for planned wellness care.
National Network: As part of a large network, your pet’s medical records are accessible at any Banfield location nationwide. This is a significant advantage for those who travel or are considering a move within the country.
Focus on Preventive Health: The clinic's philosophy centers on preventing illness before it starts, which can lead to a longer, healthier life for your pet and fewer emergency situations for you.
Appointment-Based System: By requiring or recommending appointments, the clinic aims to minimize wait times and ensure each pet receives focused, dedicated attention from the veterinary team. This structure, when working properly, can lead to a more efficient and less stressful visit.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Do NOT bring your beloved animals here. This has been one of the most upsetting and frustrating experiences I’ve had at a veterinary clinic. I scheduled an appointment online for my cat, who was showing urinary issues—a medical concern that shouldn’t be taken lightly. I received a confirmation email, took time off work, and drove 30 minutes from Gilbert with my family, only to be told there was no record of the appointment. The front desk staff member we encountered was shockingly rude, completely unprofessional, and had zero empathy for our situation or for my cat. Her exact words were: “I’m in charge of online scheduling, and there’s no way that came through.”Her attitude was dismissive and cold. She should be nowhere near animals or their owners. Someone lacking this much compassion and basic decency has no place working in a setting where people bring their pets in distress. They claim that urinary issues must be seen in the morning—but if that’s the case, why does their system allow you to book other times and even send email confirmations? This level of disorganization, combined with the rudeness and lack of accountability, caused us not only to waste our time and fuel, but also to lose income from time off work.If you value your pets and your peace of mind, go somewhere else. This clinic doesn’t deserve your trust or your business.
May 27 · Cassie HammerMy dog has a wellness plan here. We've had good experiences in the past, and still do most of the time, especially in regards to being worked in on short notice which I really do appreciate. I do think their customer service could use some work. My dog is reaching end of life and other than Dr. Jermansky I do not feel they have been very compassionate as we try to figure out what can keep my dog comfortable until her quality of life is no longer.
July 01 · Chelsea MorgensternI don’t like the fact that I have to leave my dog with the vet and not being with my dog to hear what the vet has to say or asked questionsWhen I left, she asked me if I wanted the receipt or I could pull up online. I didn’t think much of it and I said I’ll just grab it online.Well, you have to have the code from the receipt to pull it up online, so I never was able to see the findings of the vet visit/bill.The doctor was very nice and the follow up the next day was very professional and appreciatedI just didn’t like the practice and having to drop off my dog and not being able to go with her
May 30 · Bradley AtkinsIt's very easy to schedule with them, however the quality of care has decreased over the past year. They have reasonable communication with owners and I am able to speak with the doctor directly after each visit. My cat has been unable to complete all of his check-up bloodwork due to lack of supply in their lab. Instead of informing me of this issue prior to the appointment, my cat sat through an appointment and they did not do any bloodwork on him. I was told at pickup he will need to return to finish his annual check-up. My cat could have been rescheduled instead of sitting anxiously in this appointment.
March 03 · Ashley AmiriLilly and Talon were wonderful!! I had a problem with my prescription...Banfield only prescribes 1 months worth and expected me to come in each month for a new appointment-absolutely ridiculous. I was frustrated with Banfield, as this happens often, and Lily and Talon were able to resolve my issue!
