May 06 · RoséI was not advised in advance of performing the work. Only after the work was done I was told the cost was not included for the flu shot. It would be appreciated if I know beforehand any fees before the work is done.
March 26 · Melinda SmithThis staff at Banfield was super friendly, courteous and very helpful. The Dr called to explain our pet diagnosis and she was very self explanatory and very friendly. We are definitely bringing our dog back for future visits.
July 20 · Enidza Maldonado-AranaI cannot thank Dr. Burke at the Rockaway, NJ Banfield pet hospital enough for everything she did for us. We lost our beloved Herve this week after a battle with lymphoma. Unfortunately it wasn’t until nearly the end of Herve’s battle that I found Dr. Burke. A dear friend of mine recommended Dr. Burke after hearing that I was desperately trying to reach Herve’s vet at another Banfield location. Following this recommendation, I immediately called the Rockaway, NJ location. I was absolutely astonished that my call was answered right away. I told the staff member there that Herve was in increasing distress from his lymphoma symptoms and they immediately connected with Dr. Burke, even though Herve had not been to the Rockaway location before. Dr. Burke reviewed Herve’s Banfield file and within ONE HOUR I was able to pick up a medication which provided prompt relief and comfort to him. I am forever grateful to Dr. Burke and her outstanding, compassionate staff. I highly recommended this Banfield hospital even if it is a longer drive for you, it is very much worth the trip. From my heart, they truly are the very best. Thank you all for your loving care of Herve. ❤️
July 24 · M Kdisclaimer : i have a reactive dog with anxiety (she was a shelter pup and adopted during covid with little to no healthy interactions with other dogs, we have made great strides since then but new environments are difficult ). if your dog doesn’t have this issue than your experience may be better than minei’m visiting from out of town and my normal vet is great with her . they allow us to wait in my car and minimize her interactions with other dogsbanfield is not made or set up for dogs with behavioral conditions, which is crazy because anxiety is a known medical condition (it’s even covered by my dog’s pet insurance). dogs were allowed to sniff at her door AT LENGTH. i also had to request we wait in a waiting room , because they didn’t offer it to us despite her obvious anxiety.when i got there the front desk was rude and claimed not to have records despite my vet confirming they did send them over before we left the house . the front desk person did not even greet me . she asked another front desk worker if she got my records and the other replied “idk they called but i didn’t check my email” . so check it ???? so we had to wait even longer, all this with a barking anxious dog . the vet came in and was perfectly nice along with the vet tech . the exam for her paw pad injury was quick and swift but then we had to wait 25-30 minute for the prescription to be filled . i managed to calm my dog down and then another dog began barking on the other side of the door at length , to which my dog responded with loud barks and then she pissed every where … why are other dogs allowed directly against the door of these waiting rooms for reactive dogs ??? that’s pointless . banfield set ups are not equipped for behavioral conditions. i then finally go to pay , i tried to pay cash and have the rest placed on my card . the person at the front desk incorrectly charged my card despite me handing her cash first …. and says it cannot be canceled. at this point my spirit is broken, and my dog is still going insane at check out which was prolonged by this mistake . this was a difficult experience for me . I hope they improve their set up and use their expertise to improve conditions for dogs with diagnosed behavioral conditions (which are on the rise) .the vet and vet tech : 5 starsthe set up : 2 starsthe front desk: 1 star
