Choosing the right veterinarian is one of the most important decisions you will make as a pet owner. Family Veterinary Services in Montague, New Jersey, is a standout choice for a multitude of reasons. The most compelling factor is the blend of high-level medical expertise with a truly compassionate and caring approach. Many veterinary clinics focus on one or the other, but this practice consistently receives praise for both. As evidenced by a touching review, their ability to provide compassionate and supportive care during a pet's final moments is something that sets them apart and creates a lasting, positive impression.
Furthermore, their comprehensive service list means you rarely have to go elsewhere for your pet's needs. The fact that they also care for exotic and pocket pets is a significant advantage, as specialized veterinarians for these animals can be hard to find. The convenience of their on-site pharmacy and diagnostic lab saves precious time, while the availability of boarding and grooming services adds another layer of value. When you choose Family Veterinary Services, you are not just getting a medical provider; you are gaining a partner who is genuinely invested in the health and happiness of your beloved family member.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My family just got a new puppy a few days ago and the dog became sick. I'm really glad we decided to try Family Veterinary Services for our Vet. The staff and Dr. Marlena Piehler accommodated us on short notice. They were very friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions. Never felt rushed. The puppy bounced back quickly.
August 03 · Michael KlineWe had to put our beloved dog down last week and had never used them before. Our vet was closed and it was an emergency situation. Let me just say from the first initial phone call I knew this is who I wanted to use to say goodbye. The staff and Dr. Sasha were nothing short of angels. Just an absolutely amazing experience during one of the worst times of my life. They even sent us a card personalized with their deepest condolences. Truly heart warming. We are thinking of switching to them now for our other dog. I can not speaking highly enough of them. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. 🙏🏻💔
April 18 · nicoleAmazing experience. This was our first visit there. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They answered all my questions and gave me some helpful tips. They took care of my fur baby as if it was their own baby.
July 02 · Candice HarrisHow many times have any of you shown up dead on balls on time for an appointment, or early, 5 minutes or 10 minutes and still sat in the waiting room until the Dr. was available to see you? They can make you wait 5 minutes or 45. But you will wait until they are ready. Nothing to be done.I was 8 minutes late for an appointment. Let me reiterate --EIGHT minutes late for an appointment and the staff/Dr. Would not see me.My son's dog has been a patient with this practice for 8 years and for 8 minutes they would not see me.I traveled half hour so his dog could get a rabies shot. It's a 10 minute process. And they said I was halfway through my assigned time so I needed to wait an hour and 10 minutes or reschedule. The girls on the phone suggested I "take a little walk". The disregard for anyone's time but their own is reprehensible. This is the most expensive practice I've ever been to and the level of accomodation is on level with the stuff you put in a poop bag.P.S. how the story ended? I brought my son's dog to my veterinarian, with no notice. They gave her a shot and my entire family was able to leave for Virginia and go camping. Shout out to Tri State Vet! #Servicematters
