★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Yesterday morning, August 14, 2025, we had to say goodbye to our beloved cat Max, and I want to express my deepest gratitude to the entire team at Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center. From the moment we arrived at the emergency department, every single person we encountered was compassionate, caring, and incredibly supportive during one of the hardest moments of our lives.Dr. Brita was gentle, soft-spoken, and honest when discussing Max’s prognosis with us. Together, we made the heartbreaking decision that euthanasia was the most humane choice, given how ill he was and the limited time he had left to live a comfortable life. It was clear that the team truly cared not only for Max but also for us as his family. They gave us a private room where we could spend meaningful time with Max — showering him with hugs and kisses and saying goodbye in peace and privacy. It meant the world to us to have that space and that time with him. From the receptionist at the front desk, (Chrissy and forgive me if I forget exact names or get any wrong) to the ER tech,(Mariah) the ER liaison (Rosie), and of course Dr. Brita, every single person treated us and Max with dignity, empathy, and kindness. Their thoughtful approach helped ease the pain of such a difficult day.I will forever be grateful for the way they ensured Max was comfortable in his final hours, and for the care they gave our entire family. Though my heart aches and I miss my sweet boy more than words can say, I take comfort in knowing he was surrounded by love and compassion until the very end.Thank you, Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center, for everything. You gave Max a peaceful farewell, and you gave us comfort in our grief. I will never forget your kindness.
August 15 · Marta SantiagoI want to thank Dr Brita and the wonderful staff for such a compassionate experience during a very difficult time. I had rushed my dog to another emergency center and waited for half an hour to not even be seen ,as I left and drove immediately to KBVC. Bean was taken in immediately, as I barely had provided her information .Dr Brida came out shortly with her assessment and recommendations for my approvalWe were given a quiet room to relax by the great staff member, Rosie, while waiting for the results. I had made the decision to have Bean go over the rainbow Bridge after a long discussion with the Dr. She even had conversations with my vet during the process. Everyone kept apologizing for long waits and couldn't have been more accommodating. They were very respectful of my final wishes for her as she passed. I can not say enough good thing about KBVC
April 29 · Shar SkodisUnfortunately we had to do a emergency euthanasia to our 15 year old pup. From the first time I called till the second we left , we were treated with compassion and great care . We came on a Sunday night ,it seemed busy for the time but we were treated with urgency and brought into a room since we were all grieving.Dr. Russell was amazing , Annie was amazing . I am missing names but the whole staff was amazing . Even called back for names and Lisa helped and she was very compassionate and understanding. My family appreciates Katonah Veterinary Center. RIP Blanca D.
March 24 · Kevin DominguezOn Easter Sunday 4/20/25, my sweet 14yo Miss Kittie was very ill. Her normal vet was closed, but a recording referred me to Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center. I called, explained our situation and was told to come right in, which I did. Upon our arrival, the entire staff was kind, compassionate and caring. My daughter and I were taken to a calm, serene room with comfortable seating to wait while Miss Kittie was examined and prepped for humane euthanasia, as we knew she wouldn't be coming home. When Kittie was brought into the room we were told to take as much time as we needed with her, and to press a button when we were ready. When we were ready, Dr. Grime came in and talked with us about Kittie's condition, the process of humane euthanasia, and said she supported our decision. As she administer the meds to Kittie she explained every step as Kittie was comforted by laying in my daughter's lap. Again, we were told to take as much time as we needed. Kittie had a loving and peaceful crossing. Nobody wants to euthanize their beloved pet, but this experience at Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center made a really tough pill a little easier to swallow. We are now catless, but if we ever do get another cat, Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center will be our vet
April 23 · T JReview of Katonah-Bedford Veterinary CenterWonderful Care with a Happy Ending! This past Labor Day weekend, my rescue Pomeranian suddenly began limping, then became lethargic and within 24 hours appeared as if his hip had dislocated. We rushed him to our usual vet who couldn’t see him for several hours, and she recommended we rush the pup to Katonah-Bedford Veterinary Center.Once there, he was immediately seen, and the Veterinarian who first saw him was extremely kind and reassuring. She recommended we leave him there for several hours for blood work testing and a series of X-rays. We agreed, and when we returned we met with Dr. Chou, a surgeon. Dr. Chou discussed the results, which showed that his luxating patella (a common problem among puppy mill small dogs, which can be surgically corrected) which we were aware of from his first vet visit, had worsened. At that point we were ready to do anything to help our suffering pup. Now, this is where it gets into legendary ‘Dr. House’ territory. Dr. Chou prescribed painkillers, etc., but she had also run a screen that showed the pup tested positive for Lyme Disease. He must have been bitten by a Lyme tick in the first months of life, because he has been on anti-flea and tick meds ever since we adopted him. We would never have even considered LYME, since he has been on preventative meds his entire life with us. She put him on antibiotics and scheduled a follow up appointment with a Veterinary orthopedic surgeon who specializes on tiny dogs. She said that there was a very slim chance it could be a flare up of Lyme disease causing the severe lameness and appearance of dislocation.Fast forward to five days later. Thankfully (and we had lots of people praying for this pup), he is completely back to normal. We have scheduled our follow-up with our regular Vet to continue monitoring the luxating patella, but we are incredibly grateful for Dr. Chou’s brilliant diagnostic skills, and Rosie’s (front desk, the ambassador of the practice) kindness and compassion. Rosie was so compassionate, kind, and knowledgeable, from making sure we were as comfortable as possible to offering to help with navigating the pet insurance. She called every day to see how the pup was, and facilitated a change in his meds (from a usual liquid med to a chicken flavored one since the pup was being difficult). Finally, yes, it is expensive, but pet insurance helps. Additionally, you are paying for skill, schooling, and expertise, just like with a human orthopedic surgeon. If my dog’s health and well being hadn’t been the prime focus, Dr. Chou could have recommended just about any expensive procedure and we would have grasped at any possible hope. Instead, she made a brilliant out of the box diagnosis and we have a very happy ending. Our pup is now back to scheming how to get more treats and cuddles out of us. THANK YOU!
