★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 16 dead bettas, 1 there for a WHILE based on that water 😭. 2 BABIES.Petco needs to give bettas basic fundamentals of tank if they want to keep selling them. Rn they suffer in stale, stagnant water with little oxygen. Cups should only be used in transport it's inhumane to leave these fish in them for so long. I don't think I'm comfortable supporting this anymore, I will not come back for a while, if ever without changes. And yes I told an employee, but it's not their fault, it's the company's prioritizing their profits over humane treatment of it's animals.
April 21 · Corin PaskovExtremely poor customer service, untrained staff, and a rude, disrespectful attitude toward customers. It's clear they lack both the experience and compassion needed to properly care for animals. If you love your dog and want them treated with kindness and professionalism, look elsewhere. I dropped my dog off for the full works. The customer service worker and I went over all the services I requested and he examined my dog prior to taking him back. 45 minutes later, I was called asking if I gave my child sedatives because he was lethargic, almost sleeping, and not cooperative. Then, I was called about 15 mins later by the groomer saying they did not have enough time to complete all services requested as he was leaving shortly and they would need to reschedule for another date. I politely asked if they could complete what they could and I would pay and then make another appointment. Groomer agreed. Then I was called because my dog nipped at them and that they would not be continuing service. This was 1.5 hours later. I asked what services had been complete aside from grooming which they could not do, as I booked the full works, they stated nothing. Waste of my time and day! Also when I went back to pick him up, they provided other locations I could visit to get other times, I kindly stated I would not be returning to Petco. Then 5 minutes after we left, I received a call stating that due to my dog's highly aggressive nature, we would be banned from further service. Make up your mind was he lethargic or was he aggressive? My dog is not aggressive. I am so disappointed. Do not recommend!!!
May 18 · Krysta CI’d give the Newington Petco a 0 what a horrible experience! Your key holder/ manager arrived 1/2 late to open the store, apparently this happen often after talking to some other customers. I had a 8 am appointment and the groomer cancelled the appointment due to lack of time since they opened late ! What kind of customer service is this!!?? She was as rude as the manager! Do yourselves a favor people avoid this place at all costs!!! Shame on Petco for allowing unqualified mangers run a business!
August 30 · Linda BanfieldDO NOT GO HERE!! Go to Manchester CT PETCO instead! Newington PETCO is Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had. The staff were unprofessional, impolite, not friendly, poor work ethics, and outright rude. I did not feel respected or valued as a paying customer at any point during my visit.I only went to this location because the Manchester, CT branch was overbooked. Unfortunately, that decision led to a truly terrible experience — not just for me, but for my dog as well. The staff, particularly J’naya and Julliana, were speaking loudly, very anggresive and harshly, which triggered a severe anxiety episode in my dog. He became so distressed that he urinated on the floor — something he has never done before, as he is fully trained.Rather than showing empathy or offering any kind of support, J’naya and Julliana were argumentative, rude, disrespectful and dismissive. It was clear there was a serious lack of leadership, as the store manager, Allison, was not present. Perhaps their behavior was even worse because of her absence, but that doesn’t excuse how I was treated.To make matters worse, they attempted to charge me excessive fees, which only added to the frustration. She changed my dog from extra small to small for an additional fee and lied and said he was matted even after running a comb in him with no blockage.I’ve never felt so disrespected or mistreated as a customer. I would not recommend this location to anyone — especially not to pet owners who care about how their animals are treated. Avoid this place at all costs.

I have had an appointment set for my dog for a mini make rover plus and gland expression for at least a few days now no problem making it however the day of comes and I get a call while I am in class asking if i can come earlier because your employees are trying to go home earlier(not my problem i am the customer) so i said no i am currently in a class! I get a call about an hour later asking again if i could come earlier or they will have to reschedule the appointment because they had a cancellation and they would like to go home early?!?! so now i have NO rescheduled appointment(which quite frankly i dont want anymore) as i told the employee i am the CUSTOMER it is not my fault or problem that you guys have a cancellation and want to not do your job and would rather go home. Your grooming is usually open til 4 not 1 because employees wanna go home and not work their shift.
