Choosing where to buy your aquatic animals and supplies can make all the difference in the success of your aquarium. For Connecticut residents, Aquatic Wildlife Co is an easy choice. The real-world experiences of local customers highlight what makes this store so special. One reviewer commended the store for its cleanliness and organization, noting that they "only purchase fish from here as the owner keeps things very nicely." This trust is built on the visible health of the aquatic animals and the obvious care they receive. The review also pointed out that this isn't a "normal pet store," which is precisely its strength—it's a place for people who truly respect and love their fish.
Another customer's review reinforces this sentiment, praising the employees as "friendly, super helpful, and knowledgeable." This individual was particularly impressed with the store's selection of plants and rocks, noting they found the "perfect pieces" for their 55-gallon tank after a long search. The fact that the fish they purchased were healthy and thriving speaks volumes about the quality of the stock. While they acknowledged the store's small size, they appreciated the focused, high-quality selection over a larger but less-cared-for inventory. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Very clean and organized fish store. They have a variety of fish including a poisonous one! I only purchase fish from here as the owner keeps things very nicely. You can tell they take great care of their aquatic animals. It isn't your normal pet store, so be kind and respect the fish!
August 23 · Sam HEvery time I have gone here I have had a pleasant experience. The employees are friendly, super helpful, and knowledgeable. The fish I have purchased here are healthy and doing well. They also have a great selection of plants, and in my opinion, the best selection of rocks around. I was very picky and spent probably a half hour looking at dragon rock, but I found the perfect pieces for my 55 gallon. They also have a wide variety of aquarium essentials. I do wish the selection of fish was a bit bigger, but the space is small and you can only work with what you have. Fair warning, it can get busy on the weekends so I would recommend going on a weekday if possible.
April 07 · Nicole GibeauAlways great to visit and see all of their fish. All of the staff is super knowledgeable and helpful. Derek the owner is a really great guy. They've been around for a long time. They also don't mind coming in just to look at the fish with your kid.
July 21 · Mar MarAs i’ve gone to this store multiple times over the course of a few years, every visit has been a pleasant experience! staff are helpful and knowledgeable, clearly passionate about this hobby! someone recommended i put in a tiger lily, and it grew huge! most of my plants and fish come from this store, never ever have had any issues besides some slight melting in my plants (which is normal). Can’t wait to continue being a regular customer of this establishment 🥰
June 07 · Alyssa ChisholmI got my axolotl from this aquatic pet store, and I couldn’t be happier! She’s been doing really well healthy, active, and eating great.
