Deciding on a veterinary care provider is a deeply personal choice, and Banfield Pet Hospital in Ontario offers compelling reasons to consider them, while also acknowledging potential areas for improvement. On one hand, the clinic is highly praised for its compassionate and skilled staff. A client who was turned away by other emergency vets found a lifeline in Banfield, with staff members like Rose, Kelly, and others being described as gentle and caring. The doctors, particularly Dr. Choi and Dr. Chun, were lauded for their phenomenal job in diagnosing, treating, and providing thorough follow-up care. This level of dedication and expertise creates a sense of trust and ease that is invaluable, especially during stressful times.
However, it is also important to consider the full spectrum of experiences. Another review describes an upsetting and rushed experience with end-of-life care, highlighting a lack of compassion and professionalism during a sensitive time. This review serves as a reminder that individual experiences can vary and that open communication is key. While such an account is heartbreaking, it doesn’t negate the many positive experiences of other clients who have received excellent care. Banfield’s corporate structure and emphasis on wellness plans can sometimes lead to misunderstandings, but for many, these plans offer a practical way to manage costs. The consistent availability of services, from a wide range of diagnostics to general surgery, makes this location a solid choice for many pet parents. For those in California who prioritize a team that is not only medically competent but also genuinely caring, Banfield Pet Hospital in Ontario provides a service that, in many cases, is truly outstanding.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I brought my dog in after become turned away from 3 local emergency vets due to short staffing. It was my first time going to banfield. They took my dog in the same day and began treating her. Rose, Kelly, Amanda, Sara, Susie were the nurses/technicians. They were gentle and caring. Dr Choi did a phenomenal job diagnosing and treating my dog. Dr. Chun also did a phenomenal job and called me and explained everything to me, preventative care, and follow up. It’s been years since I felt at ease with veterinarians, and I would highly recommend this specific location to pet parents. I will be forever grateful to the care team.
July 07 · Char THad my dog put to sleep here, and it was the worst experience I'll never have again. It was bad enough that I was letting go of my best friend, but the doctor on board was very cold and inattentive about it. Practically rushing. The first thing he said was literally just:"I'm gonna do this quick, I have a surgery to attend to." And then proceeded to put the iv in wrong, so when they put the medicine in to make him sleep (twice might I add) he didn't get it. My dog was wide awake and agitated. They had to take him back and redo it, and once they did he'd barely gotten to sleep before he knocked him off.It was all around upsetting, and I know nothing can be done about it now, but maybe think twice if you have plans to do such a procedure in the Ontario location. They have better things to do, apparently...
