September 13 · Spaced Invaderif you have even the slightest care for your loved one do not go here.I brought my rescue dog who had been abused before i received him as he was already 6 years old and i was grilled as to why i don’t have his documents & why he’s so scared of her. As he’s cowering under my chair shaking, she’s asking me what I did to make him this way and why he acts this way as I had already stated to her, his past life traumatized him, and I adopted him to give him a better life, and even brought him in to get meds to help him feel okay, she couldn’t understand that maybe it’s because I was only 19 by myself & was too shocked as to how i was being interrogated to speak up. That should’ve been my first sign not to come back.Only months later i had to put down my cat by myself & the amount of carelessness that was shown was disgusting. As my loved one was being put down i was talking to her, holding her lifeless body, and was being told by the doctor she’s already gone she can’t hear you. After telling me to take my time they proceed to sit across the hall waiting for me to finish saying my last words to my beautiful girl, talking about how they need the room i’m in for the next clients no door on the room with other staff walking by talking conversation. It felt like an out of body experience as i had to come back to receive my pets ashes i wasn’t even given an i’m sorry for your loss just a $200 total & the blanket she was wrapped in. I wasn’t looking for condolences, but eye contact or a smile or even the slightest compassion could’ve made my experience not so dreadful.I genuinely find that this building and all of its staff is riddled with heartless carelessness for the animals and people that come through those doors. If you’ve worked in this industry As long as you have healing animals, you would think your heart would grow fonder, but instead you and Your staff seem to be heartless.I know of two people around my age who have worked in this building with this doctor and staff & the Inhumane behavior some of these animals receive is scary to even imagine as a multi pet owner.Do Better, even better close down.
August 25 · brooke torresI am 100% disabled and stay in a wheelchair all day. I have insurance paid staff 15 hours a week and do not drive due to numerous disabilities. I had been taking my cat Odin to the Holyoke Animal hospital for about five years mainly for shots and more recently the past year and a half for repeated ear infections. An appointment was made for Odin for a Thursday, the one day of the week I do not have staff to take my cat to the hospital. I asked one staff if she could come in on her day off to take Odin for his appointment and she agreed to come 30 minutes before his appointment start time. We live about ten minutes away. On Wednesday, the evening before my cat’s appointment I received a call from a female receptionist at Holyoke Animal Hospital. The caller stated that the doctor (Dr Henderson) had a number of cancellations on Thursday and the doctor would like to know if I could come in an hour earlier on Thursday because “She didn’t want to hang around waiting for the appointment with my cat.” I do not drive. My staff person was driving in from Chicopee and I didn’t know if she would be available one and a half hours before the new start time. I told the staff “no.” I also felt a bit annoyed that the doctor didn’t feel it worth her time to “hang around” waiting for my cat. What ensued was my telling the staff person I didn’t drive and had certain hours available each day when someone could take Odin for his appointment. She again stated “ the doctor doesn’t want to be hanging around waiting for an hour.” I was shocked at this admission. We went back and forth and each date I suggested she kept saying “no openings” and at two weeks out I got angry, raised my voice and hung up on the staff. I called another Clinic and they were able to see my cat on the upcoming Wednesday, seven days away. My experience here has generally been somewhat adequate depending on which staff person I interacted with on the phone. Had this not happened I still would have given the hospital a “3” rating. At times when I called a female staff seemed belligerent and in a rush and couldn’t seem to be able to schedule an appointment for me in my timeframes. A male staff was positive and had no trouble scheduling me within my available time frames. I feel the staff person of June 4th, 2025 at 5:30 pm was unprofessional and rude. Had she said the doctor had another issue that came up and needed the appointment changed I might have felt more agreeable to see about changing times. Also, had she not been so rude I would not have raised my voice. The care I received was acceptable but not outstanding and that coupled with the rudeness of female staff the decision to go elsewhere was easily made.
June 08 · Andrea TangrediAlways try their best to work with you on appointments. I am now releieved to be able to get my babies (that are brother and sisters) fixed so i dont have to worry about complications. Considering they were booking out into september originally. I only had to explain my circumstances and they were able to accomodate. This will be the vet office i will use for all animals because of the exceptional accomodation. Also, they gave me a good tip on using a onsie so the other cat doesnt get at it. Needed antibiotics. Got same day.Overall great experienceRagnar and lagatha photos are below. The one in the sink when she was all healed and feeling happy 😹😹
August 25 · niki dawsonDo not see Dr. Henderson if you care about your pet.Our cat Milo was having seizures suddenly over the last 12 hours so we decided to take him to the vet. He was an overweight cat and the cause of the seizures was not diagnosed. After simply taking blood work and giving less than 20 min of an IV fluid, they stuffed him back in the cage and sent us on our way with a prescription for phenobarbital. No instructions other than how to give the cat the medicine, no goodbye, no thank you, and no advice on what to do if the seizures persisted. We administered the half a pill like we were told to do and he had another seizure 10 minutes later. We called the office to get advice and they basically said nothing. We left Milo to go get some yogurt to help him with his dosages for about 3 hours and when we got back he was dead on the floor under the bed. When we called back and told them our cat died they were completely unsympathetic, indifferent, and when Dr. H finally called back, said she "had never seen anything like this in 40 years. Why didn't they keep him until the blood work was complete, or load him with a higher dosage of the medication because he was a larger cat to prevent the seizures before they became fatal?!He was only 2 years old and if they were more specific about how much of a dosage we should have given him initially to get his treatment under way, or if they had given him some medication and enough of it to match his weight before we left the clinic, milo would still be with us today...TLDR: Dr Henderson doesn't care about your animals and if they die, Too bad, she doesn't know why and didn't care anyway. 40 years of veterinary practice for nothing!
