What is worth choosing:
For many pet owners in Massachusetts, Mcisaac Margaret DVM is a worthwhile choice due to its combination of comprehensive services and a deeply compassionate approach to veterinary medicine. The clinic excels in providing a personal and thorough experience that can be rare to find. As one customer noted, the team's genuine love of animals is evident, and they are willing to take the time to educate owners, which is especially beneficial for those managing complex conditions like diabetes. This level of communication and care creates a strong sense of trust and partnership between the clinic and the pet owner, which is a foundational element of quality veterinary care. The fact that the clinic's prices are significantly more affordable than some larger competitors, as mentioned in a review, makes this high-quality, personal care accessible to a wider range of pet owners in the region.
However, it is also important to consider the varying experiences of clients. While one customer found the clinic to be a "God send" and praised the thoroughness of the care, another expressed concerns about the treatment plan and the communication style. The second review highlights a different perspective, suggesting a potential difference in philosophy regarding medication versus addressing underlying issues. This particular account points to a situation where a client felt their concerns were not adequately addressed, and the veterinarian's approach felt "condescending." This kind of feedback is valuable for potential clients, as it indicates the importance of open and honest dialogue about treatment philosophies. While a veterinarian may have a clear plan, a pet owner's role as an advocate for their animal requires a collaborative relationship.
In conclusion, Mcisaac Margaret DVM is a clinic that offers a great deal to the Massachusetts pet-owning community. Its strength lies in its personalized, caring, and education-focused approach to veterinary medicine, often at a more accessible price point than competitors. For pet owners who appreciate a vet who takes the time to thoroughly explain a condition and work with them as a partner, this clinic could be an excellent fit. However, as with any medical provider, it is crucial for a pet owner to feel comfortable and respected in the collaborative process of making health decisions for their animal. For those who prioritize a vet who listens to their concerns and considers alternative approaches, a frank discussion of treatment philosophies early on would be beneficial to ensure a positive and productive long-term relationship.

β 5β 4β 3β 2β 1Dr. Margaret Mcisaac may be the most caring vet I have ever met. Upon meeting my animals for the first time her love of animals really showed. I have had a diabetic cat for years and always felt in the dark about his care until I switched to granby animal clinic. The vet talked with me for quite some time about her approach to caring for a cat with diabetes and things I need to look out for. She was very thorough and I left feeling both my cat and dog were very cared for. Also the price of one visit was less than half what I used to pay for a rushed visit at the VCA. Not only was the vet great but all the office staff and vet techs were amazing as well! Thank you Granby Animal Clinic!!!!!! π
October 25 Β· Samantha LeighDr. McIsaac tried to prescribe my cat gabapentin for her gastrointestinal issues "because she's in pain." I'm well aware that gabapentin can have serious (even dangerous) withdrawal effects in humans. So, I told her I wanted to address the underlying digestive issues rather than giving her a heavy pain medication as a band-aid solution. Dr. McIsaac then became condescending and told me that it was a "quality of life issue" to not give her gabapentin. I countered that she's an impossible cat to medicate and shoving pills down her throat daily is also a quality of life issue. Dr. McIsaac offered no alternative pain medications or treatments. I never went back. After one week on a proper diet, my cat was back to herself. No medication needed. I'd assume many other animals that go to this veterinarian are overmedicated based on my experience. It's also sad that she treats people unkindly if they want a treatment plan other than what she's recommending.
May 07 Β· Lindsey DenteDr. Margaret Mcisaac and staff have been wonderful with my dogs and my cat over the years. She has always given me an explaiing and options of how to best care for my fur babies.Today Dr. Mcisaac help me through a hard decision of letting go of my best friend of 10 years. She was straight with me and let me know that his problem would keep coming back and causing him pain. She know I had taken care of him twice in the past. To only return a third time with the same issue. It's was time to let him be free of pain.Dr. Mcisaac gave me Time to say goodbye and comfort him through his journey to a pain-free place. Thank you. Dr. Mcisaac and Staff.
December 09 Β· Sue AndersonDr Mcisaac has always taken excellent care of my pets. She has also helped me with advice on the behavior problems of my youngest dog.The staff is professional, organized and courteous.I have 2 dogs and a cat and I do not ever want to go anywhere else.
August 21 Β· Nancy RealeThis is the very best place anyone could bring their pets. The entire staff shows so much empathy towards all of the animals. You can tell that they love animals. They even have some wonderful kitties who live right there in the office. They care about not just the animals but the owners as well. Every single person does their best to be sure that the animals are handled with the best of care. I have brought my cats to Dr McIsaac for over 20 years and she saved one of my cats lives twice, running several test to find out that he had a parasite that came from a bug bite and it went to his heart. She took excellent care of my 19-year-old Persian her entire life. And she is currently going above and beyond to help my two Rag doll cats, with their heart and kidney issues. My 15-year-old is running around and playing like sheβs five years old again. She explains everything in detail and gives you options so that she knows you understand what is going on with your pets. And all I have to do is say if this was your baby what would you do? And she is upfront and honest and extremely professional every single time. I would go to no other Vet ever.I recommend this that 1,000,000%. Anyone would be a fool to go anywhere else.
