Petco Introduce
In the beautiful region of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, a place known for its scenic views and welcoming communities, pet owners are always on the lookout for a reliable and comprehensive source for their pet's needs. Petco, located at 200 N Edwards Blvd B, stands as a familiar and well-equipped option for residents and visitors alike. This store isn’t just a simple pet supply outlet; it’s a full-fledged pet destination, offering everything from a wide variety of pet food and accessories to live animals and on-site services. For many, Petco is a trusted name that provides the essentials needed to keep their beloved dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, and other small animals happy and healthy. The store is designed to be a one-stop-shop for a quick visit or a more leisurely browsing experience, making it a convenient stop in your day.
The quality of a pet store is often defined by the staff, and at the Lake Geneva Petco, the team can make a significant difference. One customer shared a truly wonderful experience about their visit to purchase parakeets. The family was "quickly greeted by Dylan, who took us to the parakeet area." The review praises Dylan's outstanding customer service, noting that he "spent a great deal of time talking with my son and wife about parakeets," patiently addressing their concerns and giving them the confidence to bring two new birds home. The experience was further enhanced by another employee, Patrick, who "made sure we had the right supplies" and offered valuable advice on cage setup and feeding routines. The customer was so impressed by the staff and the store's cleanliness that they emphasized how "extremely well-managed" and "well-managed" the location was. This is a testament to the fact that when a store is run with care, it can provide a truly positive and memorable experience for customers, especially those embarking on the exciting journey of new pet ownership.
However, it is important to provide a balanced overview based on customer feedback. While some customers have had excellent experiences, others have raised concerns, particularly regarding the care of the aquatic life. One review from August 2025 details a troubling experience, where a customer observed "one dead Glofish stuck to the filter, one dead freshwater fish at the bottom of a separate tank getting eaten by another fish, a decomposing fish floating at the top of another tank, and two other motionless fish." The same review also noted "massive patches of algae in every tank" and a staff member who seemed to "rudely dismissed" their concerns. It's important for potential customers, especially those interested in the fish or reptile sections, to be aware of the varied experiences reported by others. It may be wise to observe the conditions of the tanks and animals for yourself before making a purchase.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My son has wanted a parakeet for a very long time. While visiting Lake Geneva for lunch and some time downtown, we decided to stop into Petco. We were quickly greeted by Dylan, who took us to the parakeet area. Dylan spent a great deal of time talking with my son and wife about parakeets and what wonderful pets they make. He patiently addressed our concerns, reassured us, and explained what items we would need and how to care for them properly. After much discussion, we decided not only to purchase one parakeet, but two knowing that a companion would make our new pet even happier. In addition to Dylan’s outstanding help, Patrick also assisted us. He made sure we had the right supplies, gave us tips on cage setup, explained feeding routines, and shared advice on how to help the birds adjust to their new environment. His guidance gave us even more confidence in bringing the parakeets home. This store is extremely well-managed, and I want to emphasize how clean and organized the location was. Overall, we had a wonderful experience.
August 31 · MichaelWent there on 8/8/2025 to look at the fish options. Saw one dead Glofish stuck to the filter, one dead freshwater fish at the bottom of a separate tank getting eaten by another fish, a decomposing fish floating at the top of another tank, and two other motionless fish. There was also massive patches of algae in every tank. I tried calling over a staff member and she ignored me. I proceeded to go to the register and wait for the person in front of me to complete their purchase of a beta fish, so I could speak with the staff member discretely. I overheard the staff member misinform the customer of how to care for the fish (I am a fish owner myself). I then proceeded to mention to the staff member about the 5 dead fish I saw, and she rudely dismissed my information. That's not what one would expect to find in a pet store.
August 09 · Saturday SierraSkyI overheard someone telling someone during lunch that they were ableist during an interview and it went pretty unprofessional. I usually shop here for my pets and have felt a weird vibe every-time going in being bothered by employees telling me “what i need to get” and forcefully signed up for reward membership at one point. This place only cares about sales and making their “daily goals” it seems more than anything. I’ve worked customer service for the past 20 yrs and know when customers are being used and based off of the other reviews from recent seems like a normal routine.
August 25 · Tasha ClarkWish I could remember cashiers name. 8/2/2025 around 1PM. Worst customer service ever received. Blatantly lied to because your cashier thought she knew what was best. Went to an actual pet store and was ALLOWED to walk away with a purchase our family was happy with. Awful service. Awful place to shop. Terrible experience and the first time ever going through a situation like this. Remember, your cashiers work at Petco, there not biologist nor zoologists. Train them how to engage with customers, not make them believe they know what there talking about when it comes to animals. “Pet Lovers” and “Pet Experts” don’t work for Petco. Do your J-O-B. That’s your 3 letter word of the day.
August 02 · Chris BergerNot sure why I'm seeing so many negative reviews. Everytime I visit this store, it's always been such a pleasurable experience! Dylan is by far the best employee and extremely helpful. He gives exceptional customer service to each guest. He remembers customers by their name and what kind of animal they own! Amazing! You dont get that kind of service anymore especially from a young man in their 20's. Thank you Dylan for always going above and beyond!
