Petland Mall of Georgia Introduce
For many families in Georgia, welcoming a new pet is an exciting and emotional experience, a journey that begins with finding the right animal and the right support system. Petland Mall of Georgia, located in Buford, is a place that aims to be that partner, offering a wide selection of puppies and other pets, along with the supplies and guidance needed for new owners. As a pet store, dog breeder, and pet adoption service, Petland Mall of Georgia positions itself as a comprehensive resource for the local community. The store's mission is to enhance the human-animal bond and to match the right pet with the right customer, believing in choice for how people acquire their new family members. They state their commitment to providing a healthy and safe environment for their animals, with strict standards that they say go above and beyond government and industry requirements.
The pet store is more than just a retail space; it presents itself as an educational hub where pet counselors are trained to provide guidance on a variety of topics, from nutrition and behavior to environmental enrichment. They believe in providing extensive care for their pets, including regular veterinarian checkups, deworming, and vaccinations. This dedication, as the store's marketing suggests, is meant to ensure that every pet leaves the store in the best possible condition. While some customers have had overwhelmingly positive experiences, describing a fun and easy process of interacting with and choosing a puppy, the narrative around the business is complex. For example, a customer review mentions a wonderful time with a specific pup, Bambi, while another shares a heartbreaking and tragic story about a puppy named Haiti, who was allegedly sick from the start and eventually passed away. This stark contrast in experiences highlights the varying nature of pet ownership journeys, and the importance of due diligence for every prospective pet owner.

For residents of Georgia, choosing a pet store is a deeply personal decision, and Petland Mall of Georgia offers a distinct option that is worth considering. The store provides the convenience of a vast selection of pets and supplies in one location, allowing families to meet their potential new companions in a clean and well-maintained environment. The positive reviews highlight a fun, exciting, and supportive atmosphere, where staff members are seen as helpful, friendly, and genuinely invested in the well-being of the animals. For many, the hands-on experience and the immediate connection with a pet is an invaluable part of the process.
However, it is crucial for potential pet owners to conduct their own thorough research and exercise caution. The deeply contrasting experiences described by customers—from joyful adoptions to a tragic story of a sick puppy—underscore the need for vigilance. While the store highlights its health guarantees and partnerships, the stories of unexpected medical issues and lack of support from the company after a sale are a serious consideration. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1You were my baby, Haiti DOB 12/2/22 . Not a product. Not a pet. My child. And I’ll keep paying on this loan because you deserved the world even if the people who sold you to me never saw your worth.I bought Haiti from Petland in February 15th 2023. He was sick from the very beginning. He had stomach issues, needed vet visits almost immediately, and just never seemed fully okay. I trusted Petland when they said he was healthy. I believed them when they promised support. I believed them because I wanted to believe I was bringing home someone safe and cared for.I was wrong.Petland sold me a sick dog and vanished the moment things got hard. Their “customer service” was cold, rude, and entirely unhelpful. No one would return my calls. No one offered guidance. No manager ever got on the phone. No apology. No claim help. No compassion.I was left to navigate vet visits, medical bills, medications, and the emotional toll completely alone. And then on July 24, 2025, Haiti died.Suddenly.Traumatically.This wasn’t a one time illness. This was a systemic failure from a store that puts profit over life. They sell animals like phones. Finance them like couches. Hide behind contracts. They don’t care who you are or how much you love the animal they hand you … they care if your card clears. To anyone thinking of buying from Petland: do not do it.These are not responsible breeders. These are not healthy dogs. These are not people who will stand by you if something goes wrong. They will leave you heartbroken, in debt, and alone.I’ll never stop paying for Haiti, because he was mine.He mattered. He was loved. And no amount of corporate denial will change that.
July 25 · Lissett BacaroMy girls and I had such a blast with Bambi!!! She’s a sweet and calm pup, who is great and patient with kiddos! My girls were bummed we were just visiting from AZ and grandparents wouldn’t want a new pup in their home…. Or else the temptation to bring her home with us was IMMENSE!!
August 11 · Rachel SandovalWe came in with the intention to just browse but once we saw this sweet boy we couldn’t resist! Kanneak and Chrissy worked with us. Definitely ask for those 2 when you come in! They are very nice and helpful. They did everything they could to help us out and had a positive attitude and just Overall really good experience here!
May 04 · Kylie TenchI got Baxter , “Boo” from here just before last Christmas as emotional support. He has been a blessing and he is super healthy. Overall very impressed with my little best friend. Thanks Petland.
July 09 · Joseph KingLong post warning!! I went to this Petland today to purchase a dog that I had already picked out online. I go to the store and they tell me I can’t hold the dog because it’s sleeping which I respected and appreciated. They asked if I wanted to hold a different dog while I waited on that one to sleep, so I did. After around 5 minutes, the employee came back to check on us. I told him I wanted to swap out dogs and play with the dog I had originally came there for. By that time, the dog was awake and ready to be held, so we swapped out dogs. I held that dog for over an hour and the employees never came back to check on me nor the dog (also, please know, the store was dead. It’s a weekday, school is back in operation and during business hours). I was in the floor with the dog the entire time, so no employee could even watch me nor the dog. When I got the dog, it was coughing, reverse-sneezing, breathing loud, and its eyes were filled with crud and boogers. For over half of the time that the dog was with me, it slept. More than just a little nap. The dog was in a deep sleep, would not wake up, and if you forced it to wake up, it almost immediately fell back asleep. I was beginning to be concerned for the dog because it acted lethargic and was extremely warm. Suddenly the dog woke up and just immediately vomited. I finally ushered for a worker for assistance. They immediately removed the dog, took pictures of the puke, and told me the dog would be taken care of. I asked what do I need to do since I was planning on purchasing the dog, and they told me they would isolate the dog and get him well before I purchased it, and told me a manager would come speak to me. As the worker is assuring me that the dog will be well once I purchased it, I can clearly see another worker putting the dog in the kennel with another dog and shared toys. I feel like none of the workers took me seriously when I was trying to purchase the dog. One worker was extremely rude and assured me that she had been watching that dog since 6 am and it was fine, which obviously wasn’t true because I had been with the dog for the past hour and a half and had never even seen that worker. Another worker told me that the dogs typically do that when they are out of their cage for over 30 minutes. He said that the dogs get overstimulated, which I understand, but I told the worker that couldn’t be possible because the dog was asleep for the majority of its time with us. Lastly, a manager never came and spoke with us. I am frustrated that I wasn’t taken seriously when considering a 5,000 dollar purchase but I am even more frustrated that the health of the puppies was not being prioritized or consistent. I am fearful for that puppy and other puppies that get sent to this organization. This is disgusting and should not be legal!!
