This was, unfortunately, one of the most disappointing experiences I have ever had with a grooming service. To be clear, my family and I have used Petco grooming hundreds of times with very few issues. However, on this occasion, our specific requests were ignored, the grooming outcome was unacceptable, and the way the situation was handled afterwards was both unprofessional and deeply offensive.When we dropped our dog off, I was very clear in my request for a teddy bear cut and I was specifically told “I will try my best”. I even provided pictures to avoid any misunderstanding. Despite this, upon pick up, our dog was COMPLETELY shaved down (see attached pictures to this review), the exact opposite of what was asked for and there was no indication that they had even “tried”. And it’s also important to note, our dog was brushed out so well, that upon drop off, the groomer complimented me on how fluffy and brushed out he was, so not even in the slightest matted. However, it was as if the groomer had no experience with the requested style and defaulted to shaving, leaving our dog unrecognizable. While mistakes can happen, this was not a minor deviation, it was a complete disregard for what was requested.Initially, the first store manager handled the situation with professionalism. She personally apologized and offered a 100% refund, which we felt was an appropriate resolution. However, when I returned to the store to collect the refund, the experience took a sharp turn. Instead of a simple apology and closure, we were met with dismissive comments from another manager and the groomer herself. Most disturbingly, we were referred to as a “repeat offenders,” a phrase that is both inexcusably derogatory and offensive. As a physician, and as someone who would never “beg” for a refund on a $100 service, I found this language not only inappropriate, but also insulting to my integrity.Even more unacceptable, instead of simply issuing the agreed-upon refund and reassuring me that steps would be taken to prevent this from happening again, I was informed that my family and I were banned from returning to this store for grooming. While this is not devastating in even the slightest, given the many grooming options available throughout Georgia, the principle behind the decision reflects very poorly on this location’s professionalism.Lastly, I want to note a critical point: when the groomer realized mid-service that she could not deliver the requested teddy bear cut because of my dog’s coat texture, the appropriate step would have been to call me and explain the limitations. That would have given me the option to either adjust expectations or pick up my dog without proceeding. Instead, the groomer made the decision to simply do whatever she wanted, and I was left to deal with the results. No other service industry would consider this acceptable.In summary, this was an absolutely unacceptable experience, from the poor grooming, to the mishandling of the resolution, to the offensive remarks and banning.That said, I genuinely hope this review (and ALL of the several other reviews here regarding management at this property) prompts meaningful reflection and improvement in professionalism, communication, and customer service at this store.

I adore Petco. I’ve been a Vital Rewards member for years and the rewards are awesome. I love the monthly rewards that I use toward bones and treats for my doggies. Great selection and I found the “Better Belly” brand and my dogs love it. And the same day delivery option rocks. Big fan of Petco all around.

I went to the store to get more cat litter from the refillable area. I brought with me the bucket that I had purchased from Petco MANY years ago. When I got to the cashier, she scanned the code on the bucket and the price rang up a little higher than what was advertised at the refillable litter area. She asked a manager about adjusting the price. The manager first told me that I was using a bucket that wasn't from Petco. I told him that it was and I have had it for a long time. He again told me that it wasn't theirs. I looked on the bucket to see if I could identify anything that said it was from Petco. "Pet Gold" was all over the bucket. I did find a price tag that had Petco on it. I showed that to the manager and he told me that I could have gotten that off of anything in the store. I left, planning to never to return to that store and maybe Petco.I later Googled "Pet Gold" and did find references to Petco. Plus, if the bucket wasn't from Petco, why did the code on the bucket scan at their store?I called the number requested by Petco. This appears to be their Customer Support number. The person that I talked to didn't know anything about my post. She started asking some questions but it was hard for me to understand her due to the background noise. I thanked her for the time and ended the call.

We had a really disappointing experience at this pet store. First of all, it was hard to even find an employee — we were walking around for quite a while looking for help. When we finally did, we were seriously considering buying a bird, but instead of assisting us, all three employees started pressuring and judging us for not wanting to purchase an expensive, oversized cage.We simply didn’t have the budget for it, and besides, the bird wouldn’t be spending all its time in the cage. But they were extremely judgmental, looking at us like we were doing something wrong and speaking to us in a very rude and dismissive manner.We felt so uncomfortable and frustrated that we just left — angry and in a terrible mood. Absolutely unacceptable customer service.
