★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Exceptional care and kindness! Our veterinarian takes amazing care of my dogs, and it's clear they genuinely love animals. The staff is super friendly, and my dogs always seem excited to visit. Highly recommend!
June 14 · Kevin NgFive weeks ago, I brought in my 16-year-old dog for an emergency visit because she was throwing up, had stopped eating and was weak and unwell. After running blood work, Dr. Hany Swaha told me her liver and kidney values were extremely bad and that nothing could be done. This dog is my heart, my soulmate and hearing this was both shocking and devastating. I couldn’t hold back my tears which made Dr. Swaha visibly uncomfortable. While I understand that not everyone knows how to respond to grief, I didn’t need him to keep handing me tissues which were right next to me—I needed clear, compassionate communication. I needed someone to explain exactly what was happening, why it might be happening, and what options were available to help my dog or at least keep her comfortable. While Dr. Swaha mentioned that I could take her to an emergency clinic, he didn’t believe in fighting for her because of her age. I left the office confused and heartbroken.I then took my pup to an emergency clinic, where another vet took the time to walk me through what the lab results could mean. She explained that some of the elevations might be due to an infection or severe dehydration which caused a spike. She said she believed every animal deserves at least one chance and gave me treatment options—some costly, some more affordable—and we chose a plan that worked for us. Sammy was prescribed medication to treat a possible infection, along with anti-nausea and phosphate-binding meds, Denamarin for liver support, and subQ fluids to help flush out toxins. The team also showed me how to administer fluids at home. I was ready to do anything just to give her a little more time, to make her comfortable and feel loved.Today my dog is still alive. She’s eating, has great energy, and is truly back to herself—following me around the house, giving kisses, running through the grass, and flirting with other dogs. She’s still receiving supportive care, but she’s doing well overall. Whether I have days, weeks, or moths with her, every minute is a gift that I don’t take for granted. If I had listened to Dr. Swaha, she would not be here.I’m not writing this to attack the doctor or give a low rating to the clinic. I’ve been with Banfield for over 7 years and normally visit a different location. But I sincerely hope this can be a learning experience for Dr. Swaha: every pet deserves a chance. He is a nice man, but I hope he learns to hold space for the emotions that come with heartbreaking news and communicates more clearly. Pointing to a vial of yellow liquid and handing over a printout of labs isn’t enough explanation when it comes to our furry children. Also, age is not a condition. Banfield offers a Senior Care Wellness Plan, but who wants their pet to be treated by an ageist doctor. We trust our vets with our animals’ lives. I hope that next time, a little more empathy and hope are part of the conversation.
June 30 · Lana SmithFriendly service and the vet, Dr. Swaha, spent a lot of time explaining things carefully about my pup. Happy to have found this service when my previous vet service moved out of the neighborhood.
March 17 · Vanita YogeshwarThis location has by far been the best experience I’ve had at a Banfield (I’ve visited a few). It was our first time here and it was for an injury. It was a last minute appointment, however, as soon as we walked in the staff saw how stressed/anxious my dog was and immediately attended us. They took us in right away and were very helpful. Every person we encountered was polite and gave me as much information as they could. I was very nervous for my dog but they made the experience a good one. They took great care of my boy. This location is a bit of a drive from my usual but the trip/toll was worth it and I will be returning.
October 23 · Melanie UragaAmazing work by Dr. Fay and Cathy whom went up and beyond to take care of my dog named Layla whom had vet visit. They was nice and very knowledgeable.
