This can be particularly beneficial for pet owners facing emotionally charged situations, such as dealing with a senior pet's declining health or a sudden emergency. By focusing on essential, effective care, they help pet owners make informed decisions without being subjected to the financial and emotional stress of extensive, and possibly unhelpful, treatments. They are committed to giving pets the best chance at a happy life, and when that is no longer possible, they offer a dignified and peaceful end-of-life process. The clinic's attention to detail, from arranging a proper cremation to providing memorial keepsakes like paw prints and nose prints, highlights their understanding of the profound loss a pet owner experiences. This level of care shows that their commitment extends beyond the medical and into the emotional well-being of their human clients.
The clinic’s reputation is built on trust and a deep connection with animals, which shines through in the way they handle sensitive situations. They are prepared to handle a wide range of medical scenarios, from routine check-ups to sudden emergencies, making them an essential part of the Lehigh Valley's animal healthcare network. While they do recommend appointments to manage their busy schedule, their willingness to "squeeze in" pets during urgent situations speaks volumes about their dedication to the community. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve lost 4 senior cats in the past year, and I am never taking my pets anywhere but Dr. Karen, from now on, Lord willing. We have learned through experience and through Dr. Karen sharing her expertise of almost 40 years working with pets what the warning signs are of a decline in health for senior cats. Unfortunately the first 3 cats had emergency situations on weekends so we had to take them to emergency vets & pay twice as much than if we had come here. By our last cat we knew the warning signs & they made room for him right away.Dr. Karen is a straight shooter. You don’t go to her to be coddled you go to get care for your pet from an educated, experienced, passionate woman who is there for the animals & she tries to be a voice for their best interests. Too many people have pets as an extension of them & their projections then write nasty reviews because they did not get the coddling of their emotions they expected. Well, I come to Dr. Karen because she is a bridge between animals to their owners. After a surgery on a weird tumor, our last cat was doing poorly & we brought him in (again, they squeezed us in the schedule even though they were busy) and we learned the sad news that the cancer had likely spread elsewhere. We had to make the decision to either subject him to treatments or let him pass with dignity. We chose dignity for our beloved kitty and Dr. Karen seemed relieved that we understood. That is when I knew; she has a special connection with animals & I will happily trust her to help me care for my pets. The staff does change sometimes but I feel like they are a busy office and not everyone is perfect at customer service (wonder how great you’d be if you were dealing with cats and dogs all day - some that are terrified of the vet) on top of fussy parents who can’t face their own emotions so they project their unhappiness onto the people in the office. That’s some heavy emotional lifting on top of potentially getting bit, scratched, listening to crying distressed animals etc. The people here really must love what they do and they are good at it and they do not overcharge. They offer options for you to choose from & give you privacy and time to decide.I feel like I was given a gift to let my last cat go in peace this way. They were busy but they were compassionate; I was able to cry in privacy and actually grieve the loss instead of being frustrated & infuriated because I was sent home with a bunch of expensive medications after spending hundreds of dollars on tests to “confirm” things that Dr. Karen would instinctively know. I feel like other vets extorted my grief and got me to pay for a bunch of unnecessary, invasive treatments for my cats & I did not get to grieve them because of all the other emotions I had to go through on top of it.Thank you, Dr. Karen, and your staff for making space for us and for caring about animals & being good human beings. 🙏❤️I will absolutely be back; I’m glad I’ve found a vet that I trust.Adding on to this that Dr. Karen personally makes sure that the cremation process is approved by her - I got a beautiful wooden box with my cat’s name engraved on it and spelled correctly - instead of a plaque I have to put on myself. Also they were kind & did fur clippings & nose prints / paw prints & they were much more wallet-friendly than the other places I’ve gone to for my other cats. They are also a local business that seems very people-oriented & pay proper respect to the passing of our fur children. This is very important to me & I think to anyone who genuinely loves their pets.
September 08 · TamiI called to inquire about euthanasia for my sick, senior cat. I was told because she wasn’t a patient that they were not accepting new patients. How is having a pet euthanized a new patient? She would be there for maybe 15 minutes with paperwork. It is stressful and depressing enough to deal with your pet dying without having to deal with uncaring veterinarian offices.
September 05 · Ida SeifertI had been a loyal client for over 10 years, bringing both our family dogs and my kitten here. Last year, I had a terrible experience that made me switch vets for good. My cat had recently been fixed and later showed signs of a mild stomach issue, so I made an appointment. He improved before the appointment, and I planned to cancel. Since the appointment was around the Fourth of July, I assumed the office was closed and didn’t call that day. I called multiple times on July 5th, including an hour before the appointment, but the lines were busy. When I finally got through, I was met with a rude attitude and told it was “impossible” I hadn’t gotten through because they have four phone lines. I think they now need to get 5 lines. I was charged a $25 cancellation fee, even though I had never canceled before and no cancellation policy was ever clearly posted or explained. Apparently, they expect people to know there’s a voicemail line to cancel appointments on holidays, even though the message wouldn’t even be heard until the next day.To top it off, I overheard the vet yelling at the front desk assistant over something minor. They always seem to be hiring for that position, and now I understand why. It’s not about the $25, it’s about the way I was treated. After a decade of loyalty, I expected better. I’ve since moved on to a vet that treats both pets and clients with respect.
July 21 · J SantI appreciate you guys so much for taking my boys coffee and cupcakes even though they were matted. You guys were super quick and friendly. I genuinely can’t thank you enough. Even the pricing for the groom was very affordable. Thank you to my groomer Lucy I believe her name is
April 24 · Zephra Greene-JacksonExcellent care by both Dr. Karen and all office personnel. I was just at the office last week with my cat and I wasvery pleased. My family and I have taken my animals to Dr Karen for at least 15 years now. Dr. Karen is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and was very generous with her time, making sure that I understood what was going on, and her assistant, Eric, was very careful and gentle, handling my cat, Roo, who was in a very delicate state. I can't say enough good things about Doctor Karen and her personnel.ALWAYS 5 STARS.
