★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dr. Diggle and his staff are amazing; doctors, nurses, technicians, and receptionists alike. They’ve taken such good care of my cat since he was a kitten (especially his neutering). They’re very accessible, reliable, and trustworthy. We love visiting them for annuals and anything else we might need.
June 30 · Justin ArlingtonI took my dog here when I lived in NJ in 2017-2018. They are amazing, compassionate, caring and they saved my dog's life. Very understanding when I was low on funds at the time and worked with me. I will never forget how they helped me save my best friend. Even when my dog ripped his stitches late at night they got me in as an emergency immediately and helped him get back to feeling better.
August 30 · MiriyaI was so upset having to make the decision to put my dog Max to sleep. The staff here were wonderful, they explained everything and gave us time to say goodbye. They were friendly and giving with us. They even sent a card after our decision. I would 💯 recommend them for all pet needs. Wonderful and caring staff. Thank you for making our family feel so much comfort as our hearts broke.
April 29 · Maggie DotsonI’m torn about leaving this review because for years we have had such positive experiences here but one vet in particular has wronged us so bad that I’m forced to leave a negative review.DO NOT BOOK WITH DR KAREN KEARNSIf I could leave a one star rating for Dr Kearns while still leaving five stars for Dumont Animal Hospital in general, I would. My sister had to make the heartbreaking decision to put her cat down a few days ago. Her cat had been diagnosed with an aggressive cancer about a year ago and she had three lumps removed since her diagnosis. She finally reached the point where she had a mass in her lungs and it was only a matter of time. We were told to bring her in for euthanasia when she either stops eating or when her breathing gets even worse. She unfortunately had stopped eating and I called to see if we could come in on Saturday to put her down. I called around 1:30pm and they close at 3pm on Saturdays. They could have told us that they couldn’t take us and to go to an emergency vet instead. But they took us at 2pm and I wish they had rejected us. The entire staff was amazing throughout the process, EXCEPT for Dr. Kearns.Immediately Dr Kearns told us that the euthanasia consists of two shots. The first would sedate her and the second would euthanize her. How awful do you have to be to tell us that after the first shot, the cat will not be aware of anything and will not hear you or know that you’re there. My sister was very clearly distraught and crying. Let us be ignorant and assume she can hear us after sedated. We were then told that they would take her into the back to put the catheter in. We were ASSURED that neither of the shots would be given to her outside of the room. My sister even requested to hold her cat while they gave her the shots and was told she would be able to. While we were waiting for them to bring her cat back, we heard awful meowing that didn’t even sound like our cat. We had never heard such awful cries in the almost 10 years that we had her. The meowing suddenly stopped.A couple minutes later, they brought the cat back. Sedated already. After being assured no shots would be given without us.We were in shock. We said our goodbyes and had them administer the final shot. I spoke up to Dr Kearns, telling her I really wished she would’ve told us before sedating her. Her response? “I did the best I could. She was scratching, hissing, biting”Our cat was NEVER like that. At all her vet visits she was praised for being such an amazing well behaved cat.Dr Kearns went on about how awful the cat was being and how it took three people to hold her down etc etc. I stopped her and said something along the lines of “you do realize you just put her cat down and now you’re going on and on about how awful she was while she’s standing right there bawling”. She proceeds to say “we took you in last minute. We stayed late for this” I told her she was being terrible and needs to work on her bestie manner and left it at that. How awful. If you were going to rush the process and be nasty about it, you should have sent us somewhere else. I am almost 100% certain that Dr Kearns was rushing and wanting to leave for the day so she was probably rough with our poor cat and decide to sedate her without us present.Dr Kearns made an already hard day a million times worse. This was our first and last time receiving Dr Kearns as our vet and I will forever tell everyone I know to never book with her. I take my dog there and have loved everyone else at Dumont Animal Hospital. NEVER BOOK WITH DR KEARNS.
July 02 · Maya HelwaniI’ve been coming to DAH for years—every doctor and staff member is experienced, kind, and truly cares about the animals. Affordable, reliable, and compassionate care every time I’m bringing my pets. They saved my pets and many of my friends and family bring their pets here.
