I had such an awful experience with Helping Paws that left me in tears after an attempt to schedule an appointment. I very rarely leave negative reviews because I understand that sometimes people just have bad days. This was more than that! I called to make an appointment for my dog, who had been there 4 years ago when we first got her. The lady on the phone was so incredibly rude to me, first cutting me off after asking me to spell my name. She shamed me for not having brought my dog in yearly over the past few years, which I tried to explain that she had some care, but we were just looking to get re-established. She then told me I had an attitude because I was honestly so shocked and in disbelief of the way she was speaking to me. I was on speaker phone and with my husband listening in, and he immediately told me to hang up because of how unprofessional she was acting. I tried to explain that I had just been through a very unexpected illness and death of my father, which is why everything had been on hold for a while. If that is the way I was treated, I would be very concerned for how my pet would be treated. The unfortunate thing is that the pet visit I had 4 years ago was lovely, and the vet was very pleasant. They should re-evaluate the receptionist because I can tell this is the way she speaks with potential clients on a daily basis. She could NOT wait to put me in my place! Luckily, I connected with Countryside Veterinary Medical Group and had a lovely person on the phone who got me an appointment for the next day. - Jacqueline Swan
