★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 11st time visit, didn't leave a lasting impression unfortunately. The Vet was great so were the vet techs, the receptionists just didn't match that professionalism and energy. I had a 1st appointment and was told to be 20 minutes earlier to be met by an unfriendly person manning the desk and training another to be told the vet wouldn't be in until the time of my appointment, fine, i was just there for a rabies vaccination and took over 2 hours, which can be understandable but not the unkind way the receptionist told me to "sit down and wait to be called" , when im trying to literally give you my money..... i walked out with my dog and all of the sudden they were ready for my money. Too bad they're the face of the facility because i wont be back and i wont refer, it all goes full circle and pays for those receptionists to be rude and clack away like they're saving the world and you're interrupting them lol.... the only one that showed a little kindness was the trainee Michelle the rest were awful. Ill have to find another clinic to take my money.
July 24 · Dustin MilesJuly 11th I visited the VCA Rossmoor Los Alamitos location for the first time and also did a set of vaccines for my puppy, I left feeling like I needed to explore about the future care of my puppy. So yesterday I called VCA(same location I visited) to ask about their advertisement for $20/month unlimited visit plan and was met with an incredibly rude and dismissive attitude by the manager. Instead of calmly explaining the details, I was spoken to in a disrespectful tone, as if my questions were a burden. As a concerned pet owner, I expected clear and compassionate communication — not sarcasm or condescension. It’s disappointing that a veterinary clinic, a place meant to support both pets and their humans, would allow this kind of behavior from their management. I hung up feeling unheard, disrespected, and with no desire to step into that location ever again.I will be taking my pet’s care elsewhere and would not recommend this location to anyone who VALUES kindness, professionalism, and customer service.
August 01 · Cynthia NagelA certain vet was patronizing and rude, did not answer my questions, and kept fake smiling when he delivered his sparky comments. Never again will we go there. I don't pay $130 a visit to be treated like that, dr. C.
June 22 · JodiCalled to make an appointment to pull dog’s tooth and was advised I had to come in for a consult first, which costs $120. Came in and was told that they had no openings for a couple months. Paid to be told there’s no availability.
August 26 · Chris AlversonAvoid this place at all costs. VCA Rossmoor-El Dorado Animal Hospital – Los Alamitos, CAI had an extremely disappointing experience at VCA Animal Hospital, and I would never recommend this place to any pet owner who genuinely cares about their animal's well-being.Customer Service: 0/10From the moment I arrived, the staff was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Despite having an appointment, the only male staff member at the front desk was half-asleep and incredibly rude. As a paying customer, I expected at least a basic level of respect and professionalism, especially after driving over an hour to get there with my cat. Instead, I was treated as if I was inconveniencing them.Communication: 1/10Once I was brought into the exam room, I had to repeat my cat’s medical history multiple times to different staff members—none of them seemed to communicate with each other. The first nurse rudely cut me off mid-sentence, making it clear she was either in a rush or simply not interested in hearing the details of my cat’s condition. Then, the veterinarian came in, and I had to start the story all over again for the fourth time. How can they provide proper medical care when they don’t even listen to their clients?Handling of My Pet: 0/10This was one of the worst parts of my visit. The way the staff handled my cat was completely unacceptable. When they attempted to take her temperature, they were twisting and scooping the thermometer around aggressively, making it look incredibly painful. Despite this rough and unnecessary treatment, they failed to get a proper reading. No professional veterinarian should handle an animal this way.Pricing & Transparency: 1/10After all that, they came back with an outrageous bill exceeding $1,200—and that was just the starting cost for basic tests like a blood sample and urine check. They avoided answering my questions and instead focused solely on upselling unnecessary services. Even a simple nail trim and consultation cost me $200, which is beyond unreasonable. After leaving, I did some research and discovered that many of the tests they wanted to overcharge me for can be done at home with affordable alternatives from AMAZON, dozens of different items starting at just $20. It’s clear that this clinic prioritizes profit over pet care and has no genuine interest in helping animals. The final straw was the sheer disrespect. The nurse who came to take my cat for the nail trim was incredibly rude and nearly dropped her while handling the carrier. It felt like she deliberately didn’t want to touch me, as if I was beneath her. Being a man doesn’t mean I don’t deserve the same level of courtesy and respect as any other customer. This kind of attitude is unacceptable in any professional setting.Overall, this hospital is an absolute disgrace. They lack compassion, communication, and basic human decency. If you value your pet’s well-being and your own sanity, avoid this place at all costs.Overall Experience: 0/10• Unprofessional and rude staff• Horrible communication• Rough and painful handling of my cat• Overpriced services that can be done for a fraction of the cost elsewhere• No real concern for pets, only moneyI highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. They need to be evaluated by higher authorities, as their behavior and treatment of both animals and customers are completely unacceptable. If you value your pet’s well-being and don’t want to be scammed, go elsewhere.
