★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Honestly, deeply awful how petco is as business their reporting system is just a PR gimmick, overcrowding, poor hygiene with reptiles sitting in urine soaked carpet and shit awful temp control and humidity and sells animals that are visibly distressed or underweight or obese this is a clear sign of neglect and improper care which can lead to serious health issues and chronic stress in reptiles I've never seen a single animal in this store who isn't trying to escape due to how awful it is, these animals aren't accessories they need care and well maintained environments with proper heating and lighting tailored to their species, moreover promoting the use of red lights alongside heating pads can cause harmful temperature fluctuations and stress, as red lights often disrupt reptiles natural behaviors and sleep cycles.The misleading care pamphlets only worsens the problem by providing owners with false and inadequate information on basically how to abuse your animals under the guise of how to "take care of them." What further increasing the mistreatment and abuse.One time I bought one of their plants directed towards "bioactive set ups" as an experiment and found stinging nettle growing what highlights a significant issue with contamination, wild seeds like stinging nettle can easily infiltrate plant stock through unsterile soil, outdoor growing conditions near wild nettle populations, or cross contamination during nursery handling and shipping.This is not only risks introducing harmful plants that can irritate pets and owners alike but also shows a lack of quality control and care in the products they sell which undermines the health and safety of both animals and their caretakers.Not to mention, promoting co ownership of leopard geckos and overcrowding is completely unacceptable, as these animals cannot be housed together like that without causing extreme stress and issue's.I know someone who worked there for a long time and had to quit because of how awful the conditions were they even suffered trauma from witnessing the horrible treatment of the animals. There is absolutely a way to do better than this, and it needs to happen seriously.Not to mention, I have heard stories about Petco purposefully banning people from talking about these issues and hiding harmful products which only makes the situation worse.If I could give this place 0 star's I would.
July 14 · Swagweiser damnI came in on a very busy day, and I think they were short staffed. But the girl who helped me, Joy, was AMAZING. I think she was the store manager, because she was handling everything like a pro!! She was so polite, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Even with how busy they were, she didn’t try rushing me. When I was finishing up my purchase, she was all over the place, helping not only her staff with what they needed but checking in with customers as well. It is so refreshing to see a general manager that jumps in to help their team. I will DEFINITELY be returning!!
August 29 · MinaCame in the other day to purchase a parakeet with my daughter after her had died. After standing around the cage for a few minutes I went to seek assistance. A employee asked if I need help to which I replied yes, at the birds. I had the feeling that this employee was not very happy to help. This was then confirmed when we pointed out that one of the parakeets was obviously not doing well, she responded that she was trying to get us to pick a bird and then she would deal with it (said in a disdainful and unprofessional way). My wife then stated that she was being very rude. The employee denied this and then left after telling us that she would get someone else to help us. After waiting for a few minutes no one came back to help us. We then decided to leave. I have come into this store numerous times to purchase items and although the store has a lack of employees (which I understand), my family has never been treated so rudely. It wouldn't bother me that much if my daughters parakeet had not just died and getting another one was helping her to deal with it. She was upset to say the least. I will patronize every other pet store in town before I consider coming back here. I feel sorry for the sick parakeet also, hopefully he wasn't sick and if he was I hope it wasn't contagious.

They canceled the order and the phone Customer Service rep reimbursed my gift card. I was concerned whether I “lost” my gift card in the transaction, but everyone was beyond nice and helpful.I was able to purchase just the one bag which was fine! Thank you for your care — your kindness didn’t go unnoticed.
