Aqua Pets Introduce
For many Nebraskans, the appeal of keeping an aquarium lies in the serene beauty and vibrant life of tropical fish. Finding a knowledgeable and well-stocked pet store that specializes in aquatic life can be a challenge. In Omaha, Aqua Pets has established itself as a key destination for both new and experienced aquarists. This article offers a comprehensive look at what makes Aqua Pets a notable place for locals, delving into its unique offerings, customer service, and overall value to the community.
Aqua Pets is a specialized pet store focusing exclusively on tropical fish and related supplies. Unlike larger, more general pet stores, this specialization allows them to provide a more curated and expert experience. The store's reputation has been shaped by both positive and negative customer experiences, offering a clear picture of its strengths and weaknesses. One customer, thrilled with the new management, praised the owner for his patience and honesty, noting that he took the time to answer all questions without rushing, even when the store was busy. This personalized and honest approach is a significant highlight, especially for those new to the hobby. The owner’s advice to start with a smaller number of fish to maintain a healthy tank shows a commitment to the well-being of the animals over making a quick sale.
However, another customer had a disappointing experience, feeling misled by a staff member who sold them a betta fish without providing crucial information about its care. This instance highlights a potential inconsistency in service, as the customer was not informed about the need for a heater and other essential supplies. It's an important reminder for customers to conduct their own research and ask detailed questions. The store's new management seems to be working to correct this, as evidenced by the positive review, which suggests a shift toward more honest and patient customer interactions. For Nebraskans, it's a place with potential, and the recent positive changes indicate a growing commitment to customer satisfaction and responsible pet ownership.
The store's focus on aquatic life means it is a treasure trove for hobbyists. The coral selection is particularly highlighted as "great" and "reasonably priced," making it a valuable resource for saltwater tank owners. This kind of specialized inventory is what truly sets Aqua Pets apart from its competitors, providing a niche service that is hard to find elsewhere in the Omaha area.
Aqua Pets is located at 3303 109th Plaza, Omaha, NE 68164, USA. Situated in a local plaza, the store is easily accessible for residents of Omaha and surrounding areas. The location is convenient for a quick trip to pick up supplies or a longer visit to browse the extensive selection of fish and corals. Being in a small plaza makes parking easy, and it is likely that the store is well-known within the local aquarist community. The specific address makes it simple to find using GPS or online maps, allowing customers to plan their visit efficiently.
It is important for any business to be welcoming to all customers. While specific details about the store's accessibility features are not widely available in public data, its location in a modern plaza suggests a certain level of accessibility common to such commercial areas. Customers are encouraged to contact the store directly with any specific questions about accessibility. Its presence in a commercial hub in Omaha indicates it is part of a well-trafficked and easily navigated area.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The place is now under new management. The guy who owns it is very patient and honest. Even though his shop was crowded he took his time and answered all of my questions without looking impatient. He even cautioned me to buy fewer fish/inverts than I planned to keep my tank healthy. Coral selection is great and everything is reasonably priced. One of the best aquatic stores in Omaha!
September 06 · Vhaidren ArmaniVery disappointed with Aqua Pets. Went in yesterday to buy a fish. I have NEVER had a fish and made this clear to the gentleman that helped me. Told him I wasn't even sure I had made the decision to buy one yet and was just looking. He proceeded to show me a Betta fish and talked me into buying one. He told me all I would need was the fish, this $40 tank with a water fountain, PRIME, and Betta food. I very clearly asked him if I would need a heater or anything to test PH levels (I have friends with fish) and he said "no, a betta should last for 10 years". I awoke this morning to "Charlie" hiding in the back of the bowl. After not moving for four hours I was sure he was dead. In my attempt to get him out of the bowl, he started swimming. After many hours of research online, I now how that this guy at Aqua Pets really took me for a ride. Not only are Betta fish not "beginner" fish, but they also require a heater, should not be in a tank with water fountain, as they do not work well with current, etc, etc. Big picture is that I'm never annoyed and I feel like I've been "taken".
April 06 · Misty SpragueSo far so good! My fiance and I wanted to start a new fish tank and this was the first place we went. The employee there was very knowledgable and helped us get started. Now the fish tank is looking awesome and doing very well.
May 25 · Kyle PetersWe had a great experience at the store with a guy named J who helped us pick out all of our fish. But all of the fish died. A week prior to going to aqua pets we had our water tested at petco and purchased two aggressive fish from them. Then a week later we purchased SEVEN fish (3 Species) from aqua pets which were aggressive. Within 10 days all of the 7 fish were dead and the petco fish were swimming fine. I called the store and the guy I spoke with said "huh you prolly have bad water", when I told him we had it tested he promptly told me the store had a TWO DAY return period. What a crock store, we thought we were shopping quality but instead were left with $60 worth of dead fish.
April 29 · will clouseWent in to but some bulkheads for my aquarium had just gone to Nebraska aquatics supply and they only had one left. Aqua pets had the ones i needed, I went to pick some up, talk to the guy working there and I tell him I need 4 and ask how much they are, guy tells me the price.... I look at him like are you crazy, and say I just bought some at another place for half the price..... he replies with a smart comment and says "I'm only making a couple of bucks I have to pay the light bill" So I said no thanks, I'll look else where. It's not the price that made me leave it was the attitude he had, the guy was a total douche. I will not be going back ever again.
