Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce
For pet owners in the greater Orange County area of California, finding a reliable and full-spectrum veterinary provider is essential for maintaining the health and happiness of their dogs and cats. **Banfield Pet Hospital** in Buena Park, located conveniently on La Palma Avenue, operates as both a modern **Animal Hospital** and a comprehensive **Veterinarian** clinic. This facility focuses heavily on a proactive approach to pet health, emphasizing **Preventive Petcare** to help animals live longer, healthier lives.
Banfield Pet Hospital is widely known across the country for its unique approach to pet wellness, primarily through its subscription-based **Optimum Wellness Plans® (OWPs)**. These plans are designed to make routine, necessary care both affordable and easy to budget for, which is a significant advantage for busy California households. These plans bundle essential services like routine check-ups, vaccinations, and diagnostic testing into manageable monthly payments, effectively enabling pet owners to stay ahead of potential health issues.
Beyond their specialized wellness plans, the Buena Park location offers a robust array of services that cover everything from new puppy and kitten care to comprehensive end-of-life support. While the facility provides extensive care, it is important for California pet parents to note the operational structure. The practice generally requires that an **Appointment is required** or **Appointments recommended** for services, ensuring that their team can dedicate the necessary time to each patient. This structured approach helps maintain quality of care, though it means a dedicated check-in process is necessary for most visits.
The Buena Park Banfield Pet Hospital is situated at a highly accessible location, making it a convenient stop for residents across North Orange County, including Buena Park, Anaheim, and surrounding communities. The exact address is: **8331 La Palma Ave, Buena Park, CA 90620, USA**.
Accessibility is an important consideration for many California families. The hospital provides a **Wheelchair-accessible car park**, ensuring that clients with mobility challenges can safely and easily bring their pets in for appointments. As part of a larger, well-established national network, the facility is designed to offer a professional and inclusive environment for all visitors. Notably, the clinic is explicitly **LGBTQ+ friendly**, promoting an open and welcoming atmosphere for diverse members of the local community.
As a full-service provider focusing on preventive health and routine medical care, Banfield Pet Hospital in Buena Park offers a broad spectrum of services for dogs and cats. - Standardized, High-Quality Care: Being part of a large national network ensures consistent quality, access to extensive resources, and advanced protocols for procedures like **General Surgery**.

It is also worth noting the critical importance of being diligent regarding all administrative and procedural details. This ensures that the services performed and charged for accurately reflect the client's consent, reinforcing the general advice that pet owners should always engage actively with their vet team on financial and medical decisions.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Story time: I've taken my dog here for dental work before and shots. This time my dog stuck his nose in a bush and got something up his nose. I called and got quoted for anesthesiology and endoscopy, so I opted to do dental work at the same time to save time and energy. They told me about their insurance care plan and said my total could apply towards the cost of the plan. I agreed to consider it. I come in the next day and they say extra anesthesiology is needed for both ops to be done at once but it's not covered in the care plan so I would need to pay more, but it's included if I just pay for the ops out of pocket. I chose to pay and not go for the plan. They call me back and leave a message and every call I have with them begins with a pitch on the care plan, which I decline. I call to check on the status of my dog and the vet says she couldn't do anything with the nose because she is not equipped. I'm annoyed since I wouldn't have done the dental here if they couldn't do the more pressing nasal op, but I come in and pay. The invoice includes a surgical fee for the nose! I catch it and ask. They said it was added in error because they thought I was going up on the plan, which makes no sense. They decide to refund me but as a parting shot, they ask if I would like to keep the refund as a balance on my account (that they added in error). Overall, I would say they missed their chance to have an actual sign up on the care plan since now I won't be discussing it ever again with them.
June 27 · Louis LeeThey take great care of our Zoey. Every visit they take their time to explain each item and how my pup did. Great customer service.
August 29 · Jasmine DavisFirst came and they said I didn’t have an appointment, so rescheduled for the next day. Came at 12:30pm for our scheduled appointment. The girls up front are super nice. This review is simply about the vet, and practices of Banfield. First they try and sell you on their monthly packages, which I considered at first, but wanted to see how the whole appointment went. There was a ton of back and forth about cost of things, etc pushing the packages. We told them we would think about it. We waited until around 1pm and finally got in a room after they kept apologizing saying that the vet “was just getting out of surgery” - which was told to us since we got there for our 12:30pm appointment time. We waited in the room for 20 more minutes (now 50 mins past our appt time) I had to step out and go to the front to ask where the vet was because we needed to get to another appointment by 2pm. We were again told about the vet just getting out of surgery and they would go check. Maybe 5 to 10 minutes later the vet came in. It was Anna Thomas - she Was incredibly impersonal. She didn’t have much to stay other than what our concerns were and started swapping my dog ears. They asked the last time we gave flea meds and then told me that he had to have a heartworm test in order for them to prescribe more medication. I have had three dogs and been to many vet appointments. I have never had to have a heartworm test before getting flea medication. This was just one of their fees that they wanted to push. She then squinted at a Q-tip saying that they were sort of yellow and that she would need to put them under a microscope and walked out. The vet tech, named Joe, who was incredibly nice, said that the fees for the day would’ve been around $250 For the heartworm test and to look at the swabs of the ear. Again - never had this before. Most qualified just need to look into the ear to see what is going on. I explained to them that I needed to leave and that we would have to reschedule the appointment to go over all the things that they wanted. I went to the front and was met there by a manager of admin I believe? I told her that we had to Reschedule the appointment because we had somewhere to be and didn’t expect to take it so long. She told me that she wanted to make sure I didn’t have to pay The $89.95 appointment fee again and I explained to her that we came there with a free coupon for the first appointment. She explained to me that since the doctor had already “” performed a physical “ that they would have to charge me for the second visit. All the vet did was look at him and swap his ears, and walk out. She was incredibly rude and pushing the fees, as well as the amount for the visit currently ($250) which I had no intention of paying since it was exorbant and unnecessary.Needless to say, we will NEVER Step foot back at this place. I have never been treated like a number like I did this time. Surprised they have any customers. Should have known with the free first visit coupon. Not worth it. Complete waste of time and now we have to go to another vet for flea meds.DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!
July 03 · Kat GBanfield is the worst. They show full appointment availability to get a couple of vaccines and then they call me and say the system is wrong. Find somewhere else to go.
July 19 · Haley CaweltiOk make sure change ur view to "Newest" Banfield is the worst. To expensive and ther plans do not cover anything needed all the time. There vet's are trained to push meds for extra money. They are better salesman than vets. I have them do a dental treatment every year and this time I don't even think they did it. After the appointment my dog still had tartar on his teeth. Took him to another vet who said there was no teeth cleaning done and pointed out the tartar. Watch right after this review the owner will post to contact customer service but they don't do a thing. Also, you will notice a good review right after a bad on to keep there reviews high. They used to be good when I first started, but there just money hungry now. If your new they will seem good until they got you in there grasp and start taking advantage. Just wait!
