★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I recently brought my kitty in to be neutered, and the day of, the staff seemed nice. They were friendly, informative, and very timely. Overall, I felt comfortable and pleased with the process. However, the following day (24 hours after picking him up) I had some true concerns about my cat’s post-op behavior and called to clarify with the vet. As this is my first time owning a cat and going through this experience, I wanted to make sure everything was okay and normal with him, as he still wasn’t acting nearly like his normal self. When I spoke with the receptionist, I was explaining my situation , and she rudely cut me off and asked, “what is your question?”. When I did ask, her response felt very short and dismissive, as though my call was annoying and an inconvenience to her. After that, I could not get a full sentence out without her cutting me off, feeling as though she was just trying to get off the phone. It was very disheartening and I still did not have clear reassurance about my cat’s behavior.I was so disappointed with how the communication was handled, and after looking at other reviews, it seems like the negative attitude of the people at the front desk is a reoccurring issue. As a new pet owner, a little patience and guidance would have gone a long way. It is not that hard to take a few minutes out of your day to help a paying customer with a concern. I hope the front desk team can self reflect and change their ways of speaking to customers, as it clearly hasn’t seemed to improve.
August 22 · Tara BryantI adopted my boys from Tiny Paws and Whiskers. They sent me to VIP for neuter. The staff was friendly and the facility was clean. Process was super quick! Would recommend
June 19 · Nancy GranadinoHonestly, you get what you pay for. These low-cost packages are cheap for a reason — they often only provide the bare minimum. When I brought my cat in for her vaccine and rabies shot, the person administering the shot didn’t even know it was the rabies vaccine. I asked if she could go on a walk afterward, and he told me I’d need to ask the receptionist because he didn’t know — even though he was the one giving the injection. They also skipped the exam, which was supposed to be part of the care package. I emailed the clinic about how rushed and careless everything felt, and this wasn’t the first time I noticed their lack of attention to detail. If you already know which vaccines your cat needs or have some experience with pet care, you might be okay going here — but only if you’re willing to advocate for your pet and double-check everything. When I first got my cat, she had an upper respiratory infection (URI), and I kept telling them something was wrong. Instead of listening, they kept blaming the litter I was using. It wasn’t until I said I was going to a different vet that they finally diagnosed her correctly and prescribed medication — which ended up costing almost $400. This has been the worst vet experience I’ve ever had. I’ve never had to fight so hard just to get basic care. Medication is just one part of treatment — your pet deserves proper attention, accurate diagnoses, and thoughtful aftercare.
June 28 · Anaya JacksonI rescued a 6 month old baby boy ( kitten) in December. This baby was bleeding from the nose, not eating as he normally did. My daughter was able to place him a carrier. I immediately took him to a vet close by on brookhurst. The team there took care of him very well, only I needed antibiotics that day, they gave him an antibiotic shot to last only 2 days. So I took him to VIP where they examined him, with a 104 temperature, they provided the antibiotics right there. I was so happy. He was so sick before bringing him there. Everything was going well except for his one nostril, it was still draining and his eye as well. So since the time I rescued him, I’ve been up early mornings to give him all medication trying to keep his mouth from drying up due to him breathing from his mouth and the reasons he wasn’t able to eat. Let me speed up a bit. So, tests were taken to find what was in his nose. I called 3 other places to get different opinions of what can be done. I researched everything that was told to me of what could be done or what this could be. Went back to talk with docs at VIP. Finally a solution for this poor baby. Mind you, after all the antibiotics were given to him, nothing cleared his nose since December. Finally came to a solution as I mentioned, testing again for a bacterial infection and a nasal flush. It was highly recommended by the doc to flush out whatever was in his nose. Last Saturday feb 22, 2025 the nose flush was performed, I received a call to come pick up ( paddy, the kitten) he was done and the nose flush was successful. About 45 minutes later I received a phone call from the doctor telling me that Paddy had died! Didn’t get any clear answers of why he died! Went to VIP mad as hell, tears running down my face in disbelief he was dead with no reasoning. I was able to see Paddy and his sweet face one last time as tears poured down my cheeks, eyes swelling from such a hard cry! Even today, a week later is still devastating to me not seeing his face as I took time and lots of love and money to keep him alive, was told he died. The only thing I could think of is, this was my fault, a nose flush killed him! After doing my research on nasal flush, it’s an 85% fatality doing this tactic. Had I been told the risks of a nasal flush, yes, you guessed it, I would have never allows this to be done. the risk factors was never mentioned to me. At this time obviously there is nothing I can do for Paddy but I can warn everyone who is thinking or has talked with a doctor about this, if the procedure isn’t done correctly can kill your fur baby. I wouldn’t trust this ever, it may take time for the nose to clear with meds, but it would be worth it. I don’t have my baby but I can protect the ones I do have if anything like this happens. I’m more educated on most procedures done in vet hospitals now but your doctors should know all risks factors and communicate these risks with you before anything is done. Please be mindful with your babies. Ask as many questions with your vet doctors, after all, they are doctors, it’s their job to know all facts before doing anything to your babies.VIP is a great team but the Doctors really need to educate themselves on everything if they are to help your fur babies in any situation. Thank you for your time reading my pain. Protect your babies, they trust you, your all they have.
