This modern equipment, combined with the team's extensive knowledge, means that pets can receive high-level medical care without needing to be referred to another facility for many procedures. The hospital's ability to handle urgent care visits also provides a crucial safety net for pet owners in the area, offering peace of mind that help is available when they need it most.
The facility is thoughtfully designed with client convenience and accessibility in mind. Located at 10 Hollis St in Groton, MA, the clinic is easily accessible for residents throughout the region. The presence of a free, on-site parking lot means that pet owners can arrive without the stress of finding a parking spot, a small but significant detail that improves the overall experience. The hospital is committed to inclusivity, as evidenced by its wheelchair accessible entrance and wheelchair accessible parking lot. This ensures that every member of the community, regardless of mobility, can bring their pet in for care. Furthermore, the clinic has both a restroom and a gender-neutral restroom, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for all visitors. While the hospital is prepared for emergencies, it is recommended to schedule appointments for non-urgent visits to ensure that each patient receives the appropriate time and attention without a long wait. This planning helps the team provide efficient and high-quality care to everyone who visits.

- Microchipping
Not quite a GPS system for your pet, but the next best thing! Unlike a collar or tag that can fall off, a microchip is a permanent ID for your pet. It is the size of a grain of rice, and we insert it just under your pet's skin. Once inserted, we register your pet's unique microchip ID in a national registry. If your pet is ever lost, whoever finds them will be able to use a universal microchip reader, that is available at any vet, shelter, animal control officer, or police station, to read your pet's permanent ID, and report them as found, returning them safe & sound. One study has shown that 52% of microchipped dogs are reunited with their owners, while only 22% of lost dogs without microchips find their way back home. For cats, 39% are returned to their owners when microchipped, while sadly only 2% get home without it.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1After a friend’s recommendation, we now bring our 2 cats and 1 dog here. The staff and doctor are always so kind, attentive and supportive. The office is friendly and inviting. They value transparency and partnership with the owner to take best care of our beloved pets. Our animals are generally nervous about going to the vet, but by the time they leave VHC, they are always relaxed and happy.Dr.Thomas and her staff truly give the best care and are very sensitive to animals’ needs.
September 01 · Alf 13A few years ago my son's kitten developed an eye infection. he called our regular vet who told him they had an opening the following week; obviously it couldn't wait. He called 7 vets that day & all said they couldn't take him. on his 7th call he reached VHCG who told him to bring Zuki right then. the kitten received excellent care...he could have lost his eye. that was it, we all switched over from our old vet to Dr. Thomas. one thing I really love is that we always see Dr. Thomas who knows all 4 of them very well. Highly recommend.
August 25 · Susan ConroyThis practice is the very best! We’re new to the area, and we feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Thomas and her wonderful staff. Everyone is great here, and they treat our difficult little dog with patience and kindness! The practice is everything you would hope for in a veterinary office.
April 04 · Julia BucciI've taken my cats and dogs here since moving to the area. They are great and always caring about making my pets comfortable. They definitely put the needs of the animal as first priority. For example, I have a senior cat who was going through chemo, and the vet told me on phone she wouldn't recommend stressing her out with an examination or vaccines at that time. She asked me some questions as to how my cat was doing and said she thought she would be fine holding off. She could have said they wanted to see her for a physical exam and told me then to hold off on the vaccines while she was in chemo. Many other vets would want to get you in their office to charge for a visit before giving you any advice. The vet is also very clear about what is recommended and what is necessary vaccinations for my cats and dogs. She gives me the information and answers all questions allowing me to make an informed decision as to what is best for my pets given their age, temperament, and whether they are indoor only (in the case of cats).
February 26 · Max HWe couldn’t ask for a better veterinary team. Our little girl, Olive (cat/velociraptor) had lots of health issues that brought her in many times, and she is so badly behaved when she goes, it’s amazing they’ll still see her. Dr. Thomas set her up on a very thorough regimen for her care and I’m certain if it were not for Dr. Thomas and all of her team over the last year, we might have lost her a long time ago instead of having such a robust and energetic girl. Many thanks to all of you. We could not ask for better care for our animals and will continue to enthusiastically recommend all of you to anyone and everyone in need of thorough, knowledgeable, caring veterinary services.
