Animal Medical Center Introduce
For pet parents in Orange County, securing comprehensive, reliable veterinary care that covers everything from routine vaccinations to complex surgical needs is a top priority. Animal Medical Center in Fountain Valley, CA, addresses this need as a established, full-service animal hospital. With a history of serving Southern California since 1972, this facility integrates routine preventative health programs with advanced medical, surgical, and diagnostic capabilities, positioning it as a one-stop-shop for a pet’s entire lifespan.
The core philosophy of a full-service veterinary center is to provide continuity of care. This means your pet can receive their annual wellness exam, necessary low-cost vaccinations, advanced cardiac workups, and even specialized orthopedic surgery all under one roof. This comprehensive approach is particularly valuable for California residents, as it eliminates the stress and administrative burden of managing multiple specialty referrals for different pet health issues. Moreover, as both an animal hospital and an emergency veterinarian service, the center is equipped to handle immediate needs and urgent care cases during its normal hours of operation, a critical service for peace of mind.
The facility prides itself on offering not just extensive services, but also a commitment to accessible and "reasonably priced, high quality veterinary services" that integrate the latest medical advancements, including on-site technology that might otherwise only be available at specialty referral centers.
The Animal Medical Center is conveniently located in Fountain Valley, a central Orange County hub, making it easily accessible for clients throughout the region. The strategic positioning on a major boulevard ensures that pet owners can reach the facility quickly, which is especially vital during urgent care situations.

- Wheelchair Accessibility: The center is committed to full accessibility, featuring a wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot, and restroom, ensuring comfortable access for all clients.
- Dedicated Entrances: The hospital is noted to have a separate entrance for cats, a feature that significantly reduces stress for feline patients and their owners, supporting a calmer veterinary visit.
As a full-service animal hospital, Animal Medical Center offers a remarkably comprehensive menu of veterinary care, covering wellness, diagnostics, medicine, and surgery. The scope of their services includes both routine preventative medicine and specialized, advanced treatments:

- Preventative Health: Routine Pet Vaccinations, Pet Wellness Exams, Parasite Control (Heartworms, Fleas, and Ticks), and Microchipping.

The distinguishing characteristics of Animal Medical Center emphasize its commitment to advanced medicine, patient comfort, and accessibility:
- On-Site Advanced Technology: The capability to perform specialized imaging like CT Scans and Echocardiograms in-house is a significant advantage, providing faster, more precise diagnoses without requiring referral to an external specialty center for every case.
- Decades of Experience: Having served the Southern California community since 1972, the hospital brings a deep foundation of trust and experience to every treatment plan.
- Laser Surgery Integration: The use of Laser Surgery for many soft tissue and dental procedures represents a modern approach that can reduce pain, minimize bleeding, and often lead to quicker recovery times for pets.
- High-Level Surgical Capabilities: The inclusion of complex Orthopedic Surgery in their service list means pets with serious mobility or skeletal issues can receive integrated care from their primary veterinarian.
- Commitment to Accessibility and Cost: The mention of providing "Low Cost" options for certain advanced diagnostics (CT Scans, Ultrasounds, Echocardiograms) demonstrates a genuine effort to make high-quality care financially feasible for more local pet owners.
- Focus on Patient Experience: Feedback highlights positive interactions with dedicated staff, a clean and spacious environment, and a separate cat entrance, all contributing to a less stressful visit for pets and their owners.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We called this location to inquire about our Daschund. The staff were very helpful and we decided to go in for a walk in.The location was on the Main Street and has easy access with a big parking lot. We entered and were presented with a spacious lobby. We approached the counter and was greeted by Jamie. She guided us to the correct station and walked us through the check in process. She went through our pups shot records and scheduled the correct following shots after verifying the correct info. She also assured us and addressed any concerns we had. Jamie was amazingly helpful and awesome to work with. While we waited, we walked around. The environment was clean and quite spacious. The staff interacted with our family and pup which was great and very reassuring. The front desk staff are awesome and some of the best hands down. They came to check up on us as we waited, and were on point with any updates they had.We finished the visit without an issue and are very satisfied with the service. We were treated with respect from start to finish which we extremely appreciate. It was a great service at a great price point. To be honest, you can’t put a price on this kind of staff, service, and environment. I highly would recommend this place.
May 01 · Adam Nguyen$660 for a cleaning teeth and two extraction that they never explain why?!!The staff was very rude because I double check if they want me to help with my dog because he will bite. They said no. And after 5 minutes they called me multiple times while I was driving to work. I had to drove back and help them because they were very rude saying g if I cannot come and help them they will not perform any procedure. Any way… there are many better and friendly places if you spend more time looking. Hope that helps
August 24 · Nadia XcI have been coming here for the past 14 years ! Staff is amazing Dr Kendrick is one of a kind! I trust this place it’s like family. I always recommend this Vet to all my family and friends and this is where we all are !!! For ever ! Putting my dog down was the most difficult moment of my life but Dr and staff were amazing through it all.
June 25 · Reyna PizarroI really like this place. The staff is very polite and professional. They treated my Dog like family. I was able to show up early, right after opening, and was able to get a walk-in check up for my dog. I had called around and most vets don’t take walk-ins.I feel the price was fair for the quality of service. Some Vets are charging way too much, and because of that a lot of people can’t afford to take care of their pets needs. This place is fair. Most vets are booked up weeks ahead, so don’t wait until the last min to make an appointment. Please be polite to the staff, they seem to be doing the best they can with an overwhelming amount of clients.
July 11 · Otto JimenezNot sure where to start, initially i was looking for a doctor who is certified cardiologist who can perform and diagnose an echo for my 12yr old dog. When i called this place i was told echos are done at this location and the cost would be $440. I took my dog here on June 10th, 2025 with Dr. Kendrick. When it was time to go back and get the results of what he "found" clearly i was devestated and nervous about the "news". He diagnosed her with a heart murmur, MMVD, and Pulmonary hypertension and decided to put my dog on Sildenafil. I asked if they could print out a dvd of the echo and give me a report about the findings. Tell me why i was given a dvd that could not be open it? My regular vet and techs tried multiple computers to open it and the dvd was not readable. Then, my regular vet said "let me see the report", and i said this is the report, he looked at it and was shocked and said "what is this?". The so called report that i was given by Animal Medical Center was a paper with scrible writing, not even a typed up report. My regular vet was schocked. Fast foward today June 24th 2025, i took my dog back to my regular vet because he booked me an appointment with a very good CERTIFIED Cardiologist and gave me a full blown report and images about what he himself had discovered. My dog does NOT HAVE A HEART MURMUR, she was diagnosed with DVD, very mild and does not have Pulmonary Hypertension and does not need medication since she does not require any at this moment, none the less does NOT REQUIRE TO BE ON SILDENAFIL. I had been given my dog this medication since June 10th, when in fact she does not need any. I come to find out that Dr. Kendrick is not even a certified cardiologist. Why couldnt the staff disclose that he is not certified cardiologist before hand? $440 dollars down the drain. All this stress that my dog was put under for something that my dog was not properly diagnosed? And me being her owner, giving my trust and confiding in a so called Doctor who isnt even certified. This isnt fair. Im seriously considering in filing a lawsuit and reporting this doctor and the facility to CVMB. This isnt okay. I would like my money back or a partial refund. But I will not let this go and i will make everyone aware of this place.
