August 24 · Edward DevlinWe’ve been taking our greyhound here since 2023. They’re a bit pricier than VetCo but the availability can’t be beat. Dr. Chun is fantastic! The vet techs are friendly and helpful and always manage to fit me in on pretty short notice.Comforting to have Charlestown Vet Hospital nearby when we need them!Edit after reading other reviews: We also went here before when Dr. Ramsey was here and had perfectly good experiences. Again, just slightly pricey.
August 11 · Joel TenenbaumSimilar to others, I had negative experiences with Dr. Ramsay, and do not recommend coming here if you have serious concerns about your pet. Although the vet techs and everyone else at the practice was great, we switched to a new practice and have had completely different treatment.Dr. Ramsay ignored our concerns for our two cats, one of them being a lump and the other wheezy breathing. Dr. Ramsay first told us that it was not a lump, until at one visit a different vet visited while Ramsay was out and confirmed that it was, and recommended we consider removal. We went back when Dr. Ramsay was in, and he was extremely dismissive, as if he was annoyed that the other vet confirmed our suspicion. He told us that he would not be able to operate to remove the lump because of it's location on her body. We went to a different vet to get a second opinion, where the vet immediately recognized the lump and scheduled a removal surgery. Our other cat is now being treated for the wheezing, which Dr. Ramsay did not take seriously either. We are very thankful that we got a second opinion and had the lump safely removed by a more competent and compassionate vet, and are no longer patients at Charlestown.
August 15 · mary tannianI’ve been taking my three legged rescue dog here for the past year and have had wonderful, attentive, and accessible care from Dr Ramsey and the team. They are always prompt to answer phone calls and questions, and efficient and thorough with treatment. Couldn’t recommend them enough for anyone in the Somerville/Charlestown area!
