When considering a veterinary care provider in New Jersey, it is essential to look at what makes a practice truly stand out. Glen Rock Veterinary Hospital has long been a part of the local community, and its history of providing long-term care for clients and their pets is a significant aspect of its value. However, some recent reviews point to a serious breakdown in communication, with clients expressing frustration over a lack of responsiveness and difficulty in scheduling appointments. These reviews highlight that, despite a long-standing history of trust with a clientele that spans over 20 years, there has been a recent decline in accessibility and customer service, particularly over the phone.
What is worth choosing about this hospital is its legacy of professional care and the trust it has built with loyal clients like those who have been with them for over a decade. The fact that customers were happy for so long and have trusted the hospital with the care of multiple pets speaks volumes about the quality of care provided by veterinarians like Dr. Stekler. The core medical expertise and the established rapport with clients are the hospital's major strengths. However, the recent challenges with phone communication and appointment scheduling are a critical concern that pet owners should be aware of. While the hospital's medical capabilities are not in question, the recent difficulties in getting in touch with the office could be a major hurdle for new and existing clients alike. The frustration expressed by long-term clients about feeling ignored and disrespected is a serious matter.
Ultimately, choosing Glen Rock Veterinary Hospital means you are choosing a facility with a deep history of providing quality medical care. However, it is important to be prepared for potential difficulties in administrative communication. While the hospital itself recommends appointments, the reviews indicate a challenge in making those appointments, which is a major factor to consider. For those who prioritize medical experience and are willing to navigate potential communication issues, the hospital may still be a viable option, especially given its long history of trusted care.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I am incredibly frustrated and disappointed with the way your office has handled my attempts to schedule an appointment. For the past month, I have been calling repeatedly, only to be completely ignored. Not a single call back, not a single effort to acknowledge a long-time patient of over 20 years.I have trusted your office with the care of both of my dogs, yet the way I have been treated recently is beyond disrespectful. The lack of professionalism and courtesy from your staff is unacceptable. No pet owner should have to beg for a response, especially from a place they have been loyal to for so long.At this point, I have no interest in ever returning to your office. The disregard for your long-time clients and the rudeness of your staff make it clear that my pets and I are no longer valued here. However, I wanted to make it known how incredibly disappointing and unprofessional this experience has been.
March 10 · Monica DadlaniWe used to be really happy here. No one answer the phone now . No one returns voicemails that we leave multiple times over . I don’t want to have to chase someone to give them business . Really disappointed as we have been seeing Dr Stekler for 16 years . The last few times we were able to get in touch the person who answered was also less than pleased to hear from us . I guess it may be time to switch .
May 19 · Gregory AlpherAlways a great experience. I have taken my cat, rabbit and family's cats there. Dr. Stekler is always friendly and a great vet. The waiting area is spa like and love that they give a goodie bag when you leave. It's a nice touch and shows they care about their patients.
January 08 · KristinDr. Steckler and his staff has provided extraordinary care to our Jac for the past 16 and a half years. Our Jac just crossed the rainbow bridge 2 days ago and we would like to thank you for your compassion and love! I highly recommend Dr. Steckler!
