Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce
For pet owners in Massachusetts, finding a reliable and comprehensive veterinary care provider is a critical component of responsible pet ownership. Banfield Pet Hospital in Medfield, MA, offers a wide range of services designed to meet the diverse health needs of pets, from routine check-ups to more specialized medical attention. As a full-service animal hospital, it aims to be a one-stop destination for pet health, providing everything from preventive care to surgical procedures. This article will provide an overview of the services, location, and key features of this Banfield Pet Hospital, helping local pet owners understand how it can fit into their pet’s healthcare journey.
Banfield Pet Hospital operates as a general veterinary practice and animal hospital, providing both primary care and an onsite veterinary pharmacy. Their mission is to provide quality, attentive health and wellness care for dogs, cats, and even exotic animals. A core part of their business model is the Optimum Wellness Plan (OWP), which packages essential preventive services into a monthly payment plan. This approach is designed to make routine care, such as exams, vaccinations, and diagnostic tests, more affordable and manageable for pet owners. While this model has received mixed feedback from customers who have had issues with plan terms or billing, it can be a convenient way to budget for regular pet health needs.
A key aspect of Banfield's service is its commitment to technology and convenience, offering digital records, online pharmacy services, and the ability to book appointments online. This digital-first approach can simplify the administrative side of pet care, making it easier for owners to stay on top of their pet's health schedule. However, it's important for pet owners to understand the nuances of this model. The services provided are extensive, as noted in the information provided, but for certain concerns, the customer's direct interaction may be with a technician who then communicates with the veterinarian. While this is a common practice in many hospitals, it is a point of concern for some clients who prefer to have direct communication with the doctor. For all its offerings, Banfield encourages pet owners to be proactive and engaged in their pet's care to get the most out of the services.
Banfield Pet Hospital in Medfield is located at 51 Peter Kristof Way, Medfield, MA 02052, USA. The location is easily accessible for residents of Medfield and surrounding communities. As a modern veterinary facility, it is committed to providing a welcoming environment for all visitors. This is reflected in its accessibility features, including a wheelchair accessible entrance, a wheelchair accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair accessible restroom. These amenities ensure that all pet owners, regardless of mobility, can bring their pets for care without hassle. Additionally, the location is noted as being LGBTQ+ friendly, creating an inclusive and comfortable space for all members of the community.
While Banfield provides a large number of services, it's worth noting the customer reviews indicate some potential areas for improvement. Some customers have expressed concerns about the billing practices and the use of certain materials like regular salt on outdoor ramps. A review mentions being charged for a full doctor's visit for a simple vaccine that used to be a technician's visit. This highlights the importance of asking for a detailed breakdown of services and costs upfront. The hospital operates on an appointment-required or recommended basis, which helps manage wait times and ensure pets are seen efficiently, though some customers have noted that wait times can still occur. The location's amenities like a restroom further contribute to a comfortable visit for clients, despite any potential for wait times.

For pet owners in Massachusetts, choosing a veterinarian is a deeply personal decision. Banfield Pet Hospital in Medfield is worth considering for its comprehensive services and convenient model. The Optimum Wellness Plan can be a compelling reason for many pet owners, especially those with young pets, as it helps to budget for essential preventive care. This plan, combined with the convenience of an online pharmacy and booking system, can make a significant difference in a busy owner's life. The hospital’s ability to treat a wide range of animals, including exotics, is a valuable asset that is not available at all clinics. It’s important for prospective clients to understand the corporate model and its associated pros and cons, such as the potential for communication with a technician rather than the vet directly, and to ask specific questions about billing policies, particularly regarding non-covered fees. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My cat had an eye infection for months. We were given 3 different antibiotics over the course of several weeks. I tried to explain a medication that had worked a year before but was ignored. I never got to speak to the actual doctor and only got to interact with the technician who relayed information to the vet. I went to a different vet who solved the problem in a single visit.
September 10 · Tom BeigbederI was charged $89.95 for a vaccine appointment plus $37.24 for the Kennel Cough vaccine just so my dog can get a vaccine to board at a kennel. Previously, you simply were charged for a tech fee when your pup needed a vaccine (and not any doctor care), but now you are charged for the doctor fee. Please change this policy! Also, Banfield is not using Paw Safe salt on the ramps/stairs to their clinics. They are using regular salt. This should be a given, Banfield! Please switch to Paw Safe!
January 27 · Margaret PasulkaBanfield pet hospital Medfield is wonderful. The staff are very caring and loving to my fur baby and meets all her needs.🐺❤️
July 28 · esther WilsonVery dirty place. From the front of the building being filled with dog poop bags to the terrible urine smell in the lobby. The front desk guy was very helpful and so was a girl when I called. I have been in a different Banfield for years but this one surely needs some love.
August 09 · Regina KangDr Kirk is amazing! He answers my many questions with honesty and patience. I didn’t feel rushed and he was very calming to my dogs who are usually very nervous. And their prices are reasonable. Highly recommend!
