★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Support your local Veterinarian owned veterinary practice. Have been bringing my dogs here since the old location. The doctors and staff are kind, knowledgeable and excellent. Dr Putter has great clinical knowledge and is a skilled experienced surgeon. The staff is kind and helpful. Always able to squeeze you in for an emergency.
February 26 · ilona cohenI used Lenoxhill Veterinarians recently to help with my dogs travel vaccinations and USDA endorsed health certificates. From the outset they have been extremely helpful providing realistic quotes and guidance. Luke in particular was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We were provided a smooth, excellent service which really helped. I shopped around and found other vets in the area were overcharging but felt Lenoxhill were honest and affordable. The staff are pleasant and kind. I would definitely recommend if anyone is traveling abroad with their pet.
June 22 · Nims ShuxI am incredibly dissatisfied with the care my 18-year-old dachshund received at Lenox Hill Veterinarians. Although she’s active, playful, and healthy, she suddenly began experiencing neurological episodes involving screaming, pacing, difficulty walking, and incontinence. Despite providing a detailed account and multiple videos of the episodes, I left feeling gaslit and without answers.Dr. Putter mentioned a range of serious conditions but offered no guidance on treatment or how to keep my dog comfortable in the meantime. He recommended blood work and a heart echo but was hesitant to prescribe medication without first reviewing the videos. Concerned about future episodes and having nothing to alleviate her symptoms, I urged him to watch the videos since he told me my description was “vague” and he didn’t suspect they were seizures. After watching, he reluctantly agreed to prescribe seizure medication, even though he stated that the episodes did not look like seizures. He didn’t suggest any alternatives that might help and failed to explain what to expect, such as how long the medication might take to work. When the episodes continued, I followed his advice and took her to the ER, but they also provided no useful information. I returned for a cardiology appointment, where I was told her heart was fine, but no explanation was given for the "loud heart murmur" he had previously mentioned. These visits cost me $1400 and another $500 at the ER, only to receive vague, expensive recommendations, such as an ultrasound to rule out liver disease or cancer—tests I couldn’t afford without clear justification. There was also poor communication throughout the process, including conflicting instructions on drop-off and pick-up times.Despite clear evidence of distress, including multiple videos, Dr. Putter dismissed the episodes as symptoms of arthritis, despite my dog being active and otherwise healthy. He even questioned her age because of how well she presents. In the videos, it’s obvious she’s going through an acute episode—tilting to one side, unable to hold herself up, and walking in circles. When I challenged his assessment, he responded with an absurd and patronizing analogy to pediatrics, claiming it's hard to diagnose without the patient’s direct input. With 35 years of experience, Dr. Putter should have been able to provide more valuable guidance and relief, but instead, I was left with no answers while waiting for the medication to take effect.Overall, Dr. Putter’s approach was dismissive and completely useless. Nearly a week later, I still have no answers and no way to help her. I’m now left worrying about my dog’s health and my financial situation. I can’t shake the feeling that, because I expressed concerns about the financial cost of further diagnostic testing, Dr. Putter wasn’t as helpful or as knowledgeable as other reviews suggest. He just kept saying, "it's hard to know." There was little effort to provide meaningful guidance or relief.
April 11 · Gabriela GroenkeI can’t be more thankful for everything they done for us. I’m with this clinic since my baby came to me. The staff is super caring and always trying to to squeeze us in when we have emergency. Our dr is Sanchez. But once we been seen by dr Putter and he is as great tbh. My baby is tiny 5lb man. And I’m always sure he’s gets the best treatment thereHighly recommend !
December 23 · Bella SkyGreat vets. I go to Dr. Pudder. He discovered thyroid and intestinal issues with my cat Charlie, who was losing weight. Charlie was 6 # when I first went to see the Dr. Pudder gave Charlie meds after needed blood work. I am happy Charlie is now 8 lbs no intestinal issues. Would recommend this facility to anyone needing great care for their furry buddies.
