Small Door's commitment to modern pet care extends well beyond the physical clinic. This telemedicine option is a game-changer for urban pet owners, providing peace of mind by allowing them to chat with a medical team for immediate advice anytime, anywhere. This can help them determine whether an issue can be monitored at home or if it requires an in-person visit, potentially saving a trip to the emergency room. The clinic's transparent pricing, with costs discussed upfront, also eliminates the surprise bills that can cause so much stress for pet parents. This combination of advanced technology and clear communication makes pet health management more convenient and less intimidating than ever before.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Can I offer 10 STARS!I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Small Door! After trying four different clinics around Manhattan, I finally found exactly what my pup and I needed. We visited their Upper West Side location, and it genuinely felt like stepping into the future of veterinary care—sleek, welcoming, and so thoughtfully designed. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and a sense of genuine care. The front desk team was so friendly and even had treats ready for both pets and humans, making us feel immediately at home. The nurses were incredibly kind and attentive, and meeting the clinic manager left me feeling like my pet’s care was in the very best hands. And Dr. Marie—what an absolute gem! Not only did she expertly address why we were there, but she went above and beyond to talk about nutrition, calorie needs, helpful tips and tricks… She took the time to make sure I felt informed and empowered as a pet parent. What really struck me was how much everyone at Small Door truly cares. It’s so refreshing—and honestly rare—to find a clinic that loves my pet as much as I do. Pumpkin is actually excited to visit the doctor now. Finally! Thank you, Small Door, for making vet visits something we both look forward to.
July 14 · Kyle Viljoen-RileyI just want to start off with how satisfied I was with this location. They are super friendly, attentive to your pet. Everything about pricing is discussed. Your pet barely has to wait to get seen since they are super quick. The location has a little station where they have refreshments for you. The veterinarian was super kind and friendly to my dog, and patient her name is Dr.Maude Fitzmaurice. I definitely will be coming back to this veterinary clinic.
May 07 · ArlethI adopted two kittens and one of them got sick. I searched for vets near me and was so happy to find Small Door Vet on the Upper West Side! I didn't have to wait hours to see a vet. I was able to easily schedule a same day appointment. They offer Chat services so although I initially started chatting, they actually called me so I was very happy. The veterinarian was so caring as was her assistant. I was there for approximately half hour to 45 minutes and my cat Kai got the best medical attention very fast. He's already 100% good and a very happy camper! I highly recommend Small Door Veterinary! They have multiple locations in case traveling to the Upper West Side is an issue. I'm extremely happy I found them and will continue to go to them for both my kittens' care. Amazing staff and amazing care!
June 15 · Mercedes MExceptional personal care and attention, attention to details, clean and healthy environment, pleasant staff, experienced veterinarians. Pricing is fairly competitive. They have a wellcare package that covers two visits, telehealth visits, lab work, and discount medicines, that paid for itself in our first visit. Recommend UWS office.
April 17 · Rae ShakerUnfortunately I have to somewhat agree with the other negative review here regarding Dr Annunziata. We brought our dog, Mayflower, in for a consultation regarding a bump/swelling on her tail, having previously been recommended for a biopsy by a different doctor at the same location. Dr Annunziata was scheduled to perform this biopsy - and I raised some questions about it prior to surgery, so we scheduled another consultation instead. I am so glad that we didn’t go through with this unnecessary surgical procedure… Our dog Mayflower is a sweet and loving rescue pitbull; though she is reactive to other dogs, she literally loves ALL humans and has ZERO history of negative reactions towards people. Mayflower displayed a fearful/anxious response to Dr Annunziata, which was the first time this has ever happened with any vet. The reason seemed to be that upon entering the consultation room, Dr Annunziata did not show any type of warmth or greeting towards our dog. She didn’t even let Mayflower sniff her hand, and sat immediately close to the wall/door, displaying a kind of false warmth from afar. When it came time to examine Mayflower, Dr Annunziata went straight behind Mayflower towards her rear end to examine her tail - which caused Mayflower to splay and get very low to the ground - a trauma response that happens when she’s afraid. Both I and the vet assistant had to explain that “she’s just trying to smell you/say hi”. Again, this has never happened with any doctor that has examined Mayflower, ever. I remember thinking during the appointment, “this is crazy, you’re showing no warmth towards Mayflower, not even letting her greet you - and then going straight for her tail?” It’s almost as if Dr Annunziata has an aversion towards dogs, or at least bigger dogs/pitbulls - which is fine, but you probably should be deferring this appointment if that’s the case, and certainly not be the doctor scheduled to operate on her! The bottom line is that Dr Annunziata’s bedside manner, at least for pits it seems, is severely lacking. In addition to that, Dr Annunziata had no idea why our dog would be taking Turkey Tail supplements having had two mast cell tumors removed last year by a Dr Witter at the same location. She had a very confused reaction when reading off what medications Mayflower was taking. The fact we had to explain to her why turkey tail is sometimes recommended to help with preventative cancer treatment, is a massive red flag.I’ve been pretty disappointed by the level of care at this small door location recently. The front desk staff and vet assistants are all awesome, but the actual doctors are a different story, with an unnecessary biopsy being scheduled and then this traumatic visit for our dog Mayflower with Dr Annunziata. Since Dr Lauren Witter left (the doctor who performed Mayflower’s mast cell tumor removals), I’ve struggled to find a doctor at this location that I can actually trust with anything more than routine examinations or vaccines. For future visits I absolutely will not be scheduling any appointments with Dr Annunziata. If Mayflower requires any level of care beyond these routine check ups and bloodwork, I’ll be taking her elsewhere.
