★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1HVS should be the gold standard for how a veterinary surgery center is run.We brought in our dog Kronk to have one of his adrenal glands removed, a very precise and scary surgery. Dr. Kyles was diligent with scans, testing, and pre-surgery medication, and answered our many questions putting us as much at ease as we could be.The entire staff was so kind and caring — sending us a few photos, calling exactly when they said they would (literally every time), and letting us know everything we needed for his recovery. From reception to scheduling to overnight vets to discharge nurses, everyone is absolutely wonderful. After Kronk’s discharge we had a non-urgent incision care question and they responded to our email in six minutes(!!!)Not long after we also had to bring in our 14-year-old Frenchie for a minor surgery, but we were nervous about it with her age and breed. Again Dr. Kyles did a great job on Moxie’s surgery as well, and the whole team took such kind care of her. Both Kronk and Moxie are doing very well and we will never be able to thank Dr. Kyles and the whole HVS team enough for their kindness, empathy, and incredible skill. While we hope our pets never need more surgery, we would go back in a heartbeat and we would recommend them to anyone.
September 11 · Maggie McNeilMy dog, Gigi, is family to me, I wasn't prepared to trust just anyone with her TPLO surgery and I'm so glad that with all of my research (and it was thorough!), I found Hospital for Veterinary Surgery and Dr. Raske. The entire process— consult through surgery (and we're now almost 3 weeks post surgical) has been a good experience. The entire staff are professional, kind, and extremely supportive. As someone going through the surgical process for the first time and with plenty of questions, whether I needed to submit an email or make a call to check in on my dog's progress, everyone was extraordinarily responsive no matter what hour. I'm extremely appreciative of that. Gigi is as well; I can tell by the way she still needs to greet everyone in the waiting room in her post-surgical follow up appointment.
July 24 · Christine CupoWe were sent to HVS for a complex and risky surgery. Right from the start, the whole staff was so kind and supportive. Dr Kyles answered all of our questions, called us back promptly, and guided us the whole way. The surgery went exactly as laid out and we went home with specific instructions. They went above and beyond with testing and letting us know how everything went. Start to finish the whole process has been a (very) long 1.5 months but our boy is cancer free and that all we could ask for.
July 11 · Alex BermanI want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Raske, Dr. Leviy, Dr. Greg, Dr. Akari, and the entire team. Although I am devastated by the loss of my beloved cat, Morpheus, who passed away a week and a day after his surgery, I am profoundly thankful for the exceptional care he received while in their hands.Morpheus was 15 years old and had hypothyroidism, yet despite his age and condition, the team approached his surgery and recovery with such compassion and diligence. When he was found to have an obstruction in his intestine, they performed the surgery with incredible skill and care, gently removing the blockage. I truly believe they gave him the best possible chance to recover.Throughout the entire process, the team's dedication was unwavering. They called me multiple times a day, answered every email promptly, and continuously provided updates, even sending photos to reassure me. It was clear that they genuinely cared about Morpheus and went out of their way to keep me informed and comforted during such a difficult time.Although they recommended that Morpheus remain in the hospital for continued care, my financial situation made it impossible to keep him there. Despite this, the team continued to check in on us after we brought him home, offering guidance and support at every step. Their kindness did not stop when he left the hospital.I am heartbroken that Morpheus is no longer with me, but I take comfort in knowing he was in the best hands during his most vulnerable moments. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who played a part in his care. Your compassion, dedication, and empathy made all the difference.I'm glad that Morpheus had the best team of professionals in his circle. We all rooted for him!I wrote this review Friday night, Saturday morning I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers in memory of my sweet Morpheus. I am thankful to the whole team daily. I recommend this place with all of my heart. This is the MOST compassionate veterinary hospital I have EVER been to in my life. I pray that each member stays blessed for the rest of their lives.
March 29 · J SI took my Frenchie, Theo, to HVS for BOAS surgery. Dr. Raske was recommended by two different vets and I can certainly see why. We are now a little over two weeks post-op and Theo is doing very well. I was nervous about the whole process, as this was Theo's first surgery (outside of neutering). That being said, the team at HVS put me at ease with their expert knowledge and professionalism. Everyone I met from the team was extremely kind and caring toward both Theo and me. When I brought Theo home after surgery and had some concerns, they were incredibly responsive and helpful in making sure he was doing okay. When he stayed there overnight after the surgery, I received several updates and photos from the team. When we had to go back for follow-ups, Theo was never resistant to go into the hospital to see his team, so I know he had great care. In sum, I hope your pet doesn't need surgery, but if they do, I couldn't recommend Dr. Raske and his team more. THANK YOU!!!
