★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It was time for our black lab, Sasha, to have a nice bath and get cleaned up for Christmas. The DIY tubs at PetCo are a great way to go. Luckily, our labs have always liked the body massage that goes along with washing and drying from a bath! After the bath, Sasha loves to walk through the isles, checking out all of the smells, and we let her pick one item as a reward. So many people, staff and customers, stopped us to say hello and interact with Sasha.During one stop, Sasha noticed two ferrets that were playing in their clear-sided pen and was totally interested in getting in with them! She knew they weren't cats, but had never seen any before. The staff were so nice, and several stopped us to interact with Sasha; nearly each also asked me if they could give her a treat - I approved only one. While trading dog stories, several customers stopped to acknowledge and pet Sasha. This might be her favorite place to visit!
December 14 · Jim MurphyPaid for a service I never received – no follow-up from PetcoI brought my dog to Petco Hingham, MA (Store #1703) on August 27 for the basic bath and nail trim package. I paid upfront, including a tip trusting the job would be done professionally. When I picked him up, the groomer coldly said she “couldn’t cut his nails because he bites” and walked away. She didn’t offer any alternative, no rescheduling, and no empathy. My dog has had his nails trimmed at multiple Petcos before and has never had an issue. He’s not aggressive this was clearly a matter of poor handling or lack of experience.I contacted Petco support the same day and was told my case would be escalated, and that I’d receive a response within 48 hours. That never happened. I also requested for a receipt since the service was way more expensive that I quote online including 20% off that they offered. . No one followed up. No one seemed to care.To this day, I haven’t received any resolution. I paid for a service I didn’t receive, and was completely ignored after reaching out.Extremely disappointed with Petco’s customer service. I do not recommend this location
September 02 · StephaneI don’t know who’s more spoiled—me or my cat—but every time I walk into the Hingham Petco, I feel like royalty shopping for a furry little queen. The store is always sparkling clean, the staff is genuinely friendly (not that fake “pet store smile”—they actually care!), and the cat toy selection? Chef’s kiss. It’s like a feline amusement park in there. If my cat could write this herself, she’d give it five meows and demand we go back tomorrow. Highly recommend!
July 26 · Ariel CarterGrooming Experience Feedback – Store #05708 (Hingham, MADear Petco Team,I’m writing to share a disappointing grooming experience I had today at your Hingham, MA location (Store #05708) regarding my 6-year-old golden retriever, Bobo.Bobo had a scheduled appointment with Emily, who I believe is also a manager. From the beginning, I felt uncomfortable with how the appointment began. Emily physically inspected Bobo before taking him, which I’ve never experienced before and found unusual. She made several remarks about how much work it would be to groom him, which made me feel as though I was burdening your team. Her demeanor was not outright rude, but definitely lacked the warmth and professionalism I’ve come to expect.I mentioned that Bobo swims often and would need a thorough grooming. When I asked about the expected grooming time, she laughed and responded that it would take about 4 hours, instead of the usual 3, due to the “amount of work” he needed. I’ve brought Bobo here four times before, and each visit was under 3 hours. When I returned for pickup, I waited at the register while Emily and two other groomers continued a meeting in the grooming area. Nicole eventually came out to give me the invoice and directed me to pay at the front register. There, I noticed that the cost had increased from the usual $95 to $122. The cashier was unable to explain the change and referred me back to the groomer.Emily explained that Bobo was now considered an “extra-large dog,” which was inconsistent with his prior four visits—all charged at $95. When I questioned the sudden price increase, she responded dismissively and told me, “That’s why we’re having a meeting.” Her tone was unprofessional, and I told her that for someone with 18 years of grooming experience, I expected better customer service. She did end up correcting the rate back to $95.What upset me most was that no one informed me—either in person or by phone—about a price increase. A $27 jump is significant, and I believe this should have been communicated clearly beforehand.Lastly, when I got home and attempted to schedule Bobo’s next appointment (ideally with Nicole, who has always done a fantastic job), I received a message saying:“Based on your dog’s personalized needs and previous appointment history, please call your local Petco grooming salon to reschedule or rebook an appointment.”I find this confusing and concerning.I have been a loyal customer to this location and truly appreciate the work Nicole has done in the past. I hope you can review this situation internally and clarify the pricing policy, communication standards, and Bobo’s ability to continue receiving services from your grooming salon. Ticket# 163775
June 14 · jeff currieThe manager Lee legitimately does not care about the buisness or customers. He has been rude on many occasions to me and all other customers I see, he's been reported many times and no actions have been taken. I would highly recommend avoiding this store solely to his incompetence. The ammount of dead fish and animals I've seen on the floor and the conditions of the reptiles and other creatures is deplorable.
