Angell Animal Medical Center Introduce
For pet owners across Massachusetts, especially those in and around Boston, the Angell Animal Medical Center is a name synonymous with excellence and compassion. As one of the nation's leading non-profit animal hospitals, Angell provides a level of care that often goes above and beyond what is expected. This is a place that functions not just as a medical facility but as a critical lifeline for pets and their families, particularly during the most challenging times. Angell's mission is to protect animals, relieve their suffering, and advance their health and welfare. This is achieved through a combination of a highly-skilled team of veterinarians, advanced medical technology, and a deep-seated commitment to the well-being of both pets and their human companions. The center offers a wide spectrum of services, from routine preventive care to complex, life-saving emergency and specialty treatments, making it a comprehensive resource for all your pet's needs. The staff’s dedication to providing compassionate care, especially for low-income or disabled pet owners, truly sets them apart as a beacon of hope in the community. Their holistic approach, which considers not only the pet's medical needs but also the owner's emotional and financial well-being, is a testament to their commitment to their mission.
Angell Animal Medical Center is not a corporate-run entity; it is an institution built on a foundation of ethical care and community service. This is evident in the rave reviews from clients who praise the clinic's staff as "Amazingly beautiful people" who "take care of the pets as well as the well being of the owners." The love and compassion shown by the staff are a core part of the Angell experience, providing comfort and reassurance during stressful situations. The center’s dedication to a patient's full recovery is exemplified by their Comfort Care Program, which uses the power of tender loving care (TLC) to supplement advanced medical technology, mirroring the approach of human hospitals. This emphasis on holistic healing, coupled with a vast network of specialists, makes Angell a unique and invaluable resource. Their forward-thinking approach to veterinary medicine, combined with over a hundred years of history, positions them as a national leader in veterinary care, a fact that is not lost on the Boston community. The center also provides educational programs and resources, reflecting a broader commitment to animal welfare and public knowledge.
The Angell Animal Medical Center is conveniently located at 350 S Huntington Ave, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130, USA. Its location is a key part of its accessibility, serving as a hub for both scheduled appointments and critical emergencies. The facility is designed with all visitors in mind, offering a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, and a wheelchair-accessible restroom. This thoughtful accessibility ensures that everyone, regardless of their physical abilities, can easily bring their pet in for care. September 07 · Jill CardozaYour team did excellent work on Rocky, literally saved his life and prevented an absolute tragedy in my life. You treated him with an amazing level of care and compassion, and truly went above and beyond. What I appreciated most about Angell is the financial transparency. All costs were explained upfront and made it easier to go through surgery, which was something I was very anxious about given my current financial situation.
September 11 · Ryan BaraltDr. Lockwood and the team at Angel West far exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment we walked in, they went above and beyond—not just for Baxter, but for my husband and I as well. Their compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail were evident in every interaction. We felt seen, supported, and truly cared for. What stood out most was their thoughtful, expert approach to Baxter's complex condition. They took the time to listen, explain, and make accommodations that made a real difference in both his recovery and our peace of mind. It's clear that their work is more than just a job; their passion shows in the exceptional care they provide. We are tremendously grateful for everything they've done. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience.
July 08 · Crystal ChappellMy dog had a surgery here on Monday. Dr.Daniels and his team is so helpful. He is such an amazing doctor and such a good human being. He called me 3 times a day to inform me about my dog’s health and condition, and that made me so relieved that he was in good hands. Being a pet parent, its so rare that a doctor understands how difficult it is for us when our baby is in the hospital. And how great it is when someone shows so much compassion and empathy and kindness. The neurology department also helped me financially as I was unable to afford his treatment. The insurance coordinator Harrison is also a very helpful person, and so is Mark- overall I think people here are very compassionate and helpful and kind, and took care of my baby like their own. I am so glad I got his surgery done here, and I wish I would have found out about this place earlier. I also want to thank Annika for sending me regular messages and pictures about his condition , that really helped with my anxiety.
April 17 · Ananya ChakrabortyIve been holding back on providing this review, but Im ready to share my awful experience(perhaps not in great details). My dog passed away upon arrival to the hospital after seizing for 15 mins nonstop on our drive over. His heart beat stopped at the hospital’s parking lot. Upon our arrival, there seems to be no urgency from front desk as we ran in with our dead pup in hand. Finally, Veterinarian asked if I wanted Cpr. I said of course. In the meantime, she wanted me to first check in with the receptionist who said something about the cost…at this point, I just wanted anything to bring my dog back. Shorty after performing perhaps 5mins of CPR, the Veterinarian came back out and asked if I wanted to continue CPR. Of course I was dumbfounded as to why they stopped. After all, aren’t they the professionals? A few minutes later they tell me he didnt make it. We go into the back and was left there with the cadaver for what seemed for a long time u til I decided to go see if I can find anyone. When a different receptionist saw me, she said, “Oh, I was going to get you” as she held her clipboard. Im obviously crying and calling my loved ones to share the news and in the mist of this, she is asking me for payments. I opted to pay for a necropsy as my pup was only 6 months old. 1800 later, I had to chase them down for the results a few days later that was reported as idiopathic epilepsy … in Laymans term it means they don’t know why the dog had the epilepsy. So I asked if they tested him for any rodenticide or poison and they tell me that no they didn’t that they’re not sure that that’s what caused it and that either way I will have to pay $300 more because they have to send it out to the lab and it could take 15 days. So I ask wasn’t the necropsy so you can find out exactly what took place? This is still a long story so to cut it short, MSPCA has crappy, insensitive front desk personal, operator(didnt share what took place there) and a highway robbery to monopolized the situation as they are the only emergency animal Hospital after hours in the Boston area. I have no choice, but to go there in the future if I was to have another pet that requires an emergency needs. Do better!
