Banfield Pet Hospital Introduce
For pet owners throughout California, finding reliable and accessible veterinary care is a top priority. A healthy pet is a happy pet, and ensuring they receive regular medical attention is a core part of being a responsible pet parent. In the Glendale area, Banfield Pet Hospital is a well-known name that offers a range of services designed to address a variety of your pet’s health needs. As a local clinic, they serve the community with a focus on general wellness and preventive care, positioning themselves as a go-to for many in the region seeking veterinary services.
Banfield Pet Hospital is part of a larger network of veterinary care providers, which can sometimes offer the benefit of standardized procedures and access to a broad range of services. For those looking for a clinic that offers routine care, vaccinations, and standard surgeries like spaying and neutering, they have a set menu of options. The hospital also functions as a veterinary pharmacy, providing the convenience of filling prescriptions right at the clinic. However, it's worth noting that client experiences can vary, and it's essential to understand how their services are structured, especially if you're considering their wellness plans.
Some pet owners have expressed concerns regarding the availability of appointments and the cost of services, even with a wellness plan. One customer mentioned that they were in the process of seeking a new vet because they found it difficult to get an appointment when needed, with wait times of several weeks at multiple locations in the LA area. Another client, who has a wellness plan for their dogs, felt there were many unexpected upcharges for services that they believed should be included. These experiences highlight the importance of asking detailed questions about services, costs, and availability before committing to a plan or a specific procedure.
Banfield Pet Hospital is conveniently located at 308 N Glendale Ave, Glendale, CA 91206, USA. This location places it in a central part of Glendale, making it accessible for residents of the city and surrounding communities in the San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles area. Its presence on a major thoroughfare helps with ease of travel, which is a key consideration for any pet owner.
The hospital is committed to being an accessible space for all clients. It features a wheelchair-accessible car park, which helps with the process of getting your pet from your vehicle to the clinic with minimal difficulty. Inside, you'll also find a wheelchair-accessible toilet, ensuring the comfort and convenience of all visitors. When planning your visit, it is important to remember that appointments are required or at least recommended. This planning ensures that the clinic can manage its schedule efficiently and provide a more organized experience for everyone.
Banfield Pet Hospital provides a variety of veterinary services aimed at maintaining the health and wellness of your pet. They focus on common medical needs and preventive care. Here is a look at some of the services they offer:
Routine and Preventive Care: This includes comprehensive exams to assess your pet's overall health, regular vaccinations to protect against common diseases, and parasite control to prevent infestations. They also offer nutrition advice to help you manage your pet’s diet for optimal health.
Diagnostic Services: To get a clear picture of your pet's health, the hospital offers in-house laboratory diagnostics and digital radiography. This allows for quick and efficient diagnosis of various conditions, from gastrointestinal illnesses to orthopedic issues.
Surgical and Dental Procedures: They perform general surgery, including spaying and neutering, which are crucial for pet population control and long-term health. The hospital also offers general dentistry, including dental digital X-rays to check for issues below the gum line and ensure your pet's oral health is maintained.
Specialized Treatments: The clinic provides specific treatments for conditions such as coat and skin care issues. They also offer orthopedic evaluations and treatments to address mobility and joint problems in pets.
Beyond the core services, Banfield Pet Hospital in Glendale has certain features that distinguish it as a part of a larger veterinary network. These features are designed to provide a structured approach to pet care for clients who prefer a comprehensive and organized plan.
Wellness Plans: The hospital is well-known for its Optimum Wellness Plans. These plans are structured packages that bundle various services like exams, vaccinations, and discounts on other treatments for a monthly fee. These plans can be a way for pet owners to budget for routine care throughout the year. However, it is essential to review the specifics of what is included and what might incur an additional charge.
LGBTQ+ Friendly: The clinic is noted as being LGBTQ+ friendly, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for a diverse clientele. This focus on inclusivity contributes to a positive experience for all members of the community.
Veterinary Pharmacy: Having an on-site veterinary pharmacy saves pet owners the extra trip of having to go elsewhere to fill their pet's prescriptions. This convenience can be a major benefit, particularly for pets on long-term medication.
Appointment-Based System: The clinic operates on an appointment-based system, which is crucial for managing patient flow. While this can sometimes lead to longer wait times for scheduling, it also means that when you do have an appointment, you are likely to be seen at your scheduled time, providing a more predictable experience than a walk-in clinic.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We’ve had Banfield for several years now their quality has gone way down. We’re actually in the process of trying to find a new vet/plan somewhere else. Banfields monthly premiums have been increasing every year but now it’s impossible to get an appointment when you need one. The appointment times are usually weeks out for all locations. We’ve already gone to three of their locations in LA because of scheduling issues. It’s not worth the monthly premium anymore if you can’t even use their services and have to take your dog to a Veterinary ER or another private practice because Banfield doesn’t have availability in their schedule when you need them.
August 04 · Max PHave the wellness plan for my dogs. It Is really a bait and hook process. There are soooo many up charges EVERYTHING and ANYTHING is extra. Today I brought my dogs in for a teeth cleaning at 7am the paperwork for all the up charges for the “in Cases “ of all that could go wrong was daunting. It’s like the pharmaceutical commercials advertising a drug and there are a million worse things that could go wrong they will charge you for. No thanks. Banfield are wolfs in sheep’s clothing! It’s ALL about the money. They pull on heartstrings for the Love of your dog! It’s a racquet!

August 01 · ChaiI called in prior to bringing my dog Rosie in to chat with a vet and see if they thought her symptoms required a visit. Over the phone she told me she would love to see Rosie and from the few symptoms I gave she knew what tests she would run. I brought Rosie in and sure enough Rosie had what the vet tested for. I have Rosie signed up on the puppy plan so I only had to pay for 1 of the 2 tests that were run as well as her medication. Thank you for taking such good care of Rosie!
