★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is a unicorn clinic. So glad I found them. They take great care of my girl even though she struggles with being restrained. They are so kind and patient with both you and your pet and I am so grateful for their compassion
August 18 · Maya ChristiansonI brought in my 13-year-old cat because he wasn’t well. The blood test showed high blood sugar — clearly diabetes. Instead of prescribing insulin or stressing the urgency, the vet downplayed it and insisted on running more tests, quoting another $400.There was no urgency or guidance given about how dangerous uncontrolled diabetes can be, or how quickly it could turn into a medical emergency. Just days ago, my cat passed away from diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) — a direct result of uncontrolled diabetes.I trusted this clinic to guide me, but I feel they failed to act when it mattered most. If your pet is diagnosed with high blood sugar, please make sure you get clear answers and a treatment plan immediately — don’t wait like I was told to.
August 20 · Gustavo VeraHands down the best veterinary practice Me and Gordy have ever bin to... a true health practice with your pets wellbeing a priority . Dr.Lisa is informative and a pleasure to consult with and the entire staff at the practice are super competent and sweet to boot .
May 28 · tahamtan mofidReally grateful for the staff here (Isabella) who was so patient with me on the phone and gave me easy to follow directions that helped my dog's eye infection to clear up.
April 16 · CamiI'm new to Los Angeles and ended up at the AHCC because someone else recommended it to me. When I walked in I had no idea what to expect as far as prices but I quickly learned that this place was much higher than other places. When I arrived for my appointment there was nobody in the waiting room. That should have been a good indication of what was to come. Dr. Cartwright (holiday weekend so he was filling in) saw my cat, told me they needed x-rays/bloodwork and that it would have to be sent off to a lab. All of my previous vet visits at other practices have always had it done in house...but not here. So I knew that was going to be $$$. I left that day with some antibiotics for what they said could be a UTI and that they would call me during the week to give me the lab results and see how my kitty is doing.Almost a week passes, I have not heard a thing from them so I call. They apologize and eventually Dr. Lisa who will be handing my cat gives me a call back. She tells me the lab results do show possible diabetes...I'm ok with that so I wanted to know what to do next. More than the diabetes she seemed to push on me that I needed to treat my cat with their outrageously overpriced feline revolution flea medication. My cat is 14, has NEVER had a flea in her life but she kept insisting that I needed to do this. She was more concerned with shoving that down my throat than treating my cat who has bigger problems that flea prevention. Not only that but she constantly said how fleas are hard to see and cats hide them well...I hate to tell this lady but I know what fleas and flea dander look like. Don't try to make your patients feel like an idiot! The conversation ended and she said they would call me on Monday so I can get my prescription refill for the antibiotics (keep in mind my meds run out on Sat). So Monday rolls around and I hear nothing so I call...the girl that answers tells me they will give me a call later when the prescription is ready. I never heard a thing so on Tuesday morning I make the hour drive in traffic to get the script because they said they do not call in scripts to the pharmacy. It still wasn't ready so I waited around for them to give me the script so I could get out of there.See my attached photo for what I was charged $48 for the Clavamox. I ended up getting it filled for $28 at the pharmacy. I see it even cheaper online if you had the time for a mail order prescription.I was charged $257 for the X-Ray. I called around and it turns out that most Vets in Los Angeles will do this for around $85 in house without sending it off to a lab. That's a big difference! The bloodwork was $245...again much much cheaper if you go elsewhere. I'm starting to think the high prices are their way of making up for the lack of patients.I saw another vet this week and have been very happy! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else if it's an important health issue. Dr. Lisa may be ok if you need your dogs nails clipped but I wouldn't trust her with my cats life.
