When considering Paws Veterinary Clinic, it is important to weigh the historical strengths against recent concerns. For Arizona residents seeking a long-term veterinary partner, the clinic's history of building strong, caring relationships with its clients is a significant point in its favor. The highly positive review, which gave a rating of 20/10, speaks to a clinic that, at its best, provides an exceptional level of care and customer service. The praise for the professional, caring, and helpful staff, from the receptionist to the veterinary assistants, suggests that the clinic has a core team that is deeply committed to animal welfare and client satisfaction.
However, it is also important to consider the concerns raised by a long-term customer about recent experiences. The issues mentioned, such as the perceived lack of familiarity with a long-term patient and the handling of a sensitive health issue, are valid points for consideration. It is not uncommon for clinics to undergo changes in staff or protocols, which can sometimes lead to a shift in the client experience. For a pet owner, the most important thing is feeling heard and trusting the vet. The mixed reviews suggest that while the clinic has some fantastic staff members who provide excellent care, the experience can vary.
In conclusion, Paws Veterinary Clinic is a worthy choice for those who value a clean environment, a friendly staff, and the potential for a long-term relationship. The clinic's positive history and the praise for specific staff members are strong indicators of its ability to provide quality, compassionate care. For those in Mesa, this clinic offers a local option with a proven track record, and a staff that, in many cases, goes above and beyond to make clients and their pets feel welcomed and cared for.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Honestly sad and disappointed in this place the last few visits. I originally came here because Wendy was an amazing doctor and very caring and even helped with home remedies. The last few times have been horrible for my buddy. A few times ago the male that was working there had his ENTIRE body holding down my dog. My dog is not aggressive at all so I found it so unnecessary. And since my dog shakes coming to the vet. My dog has come here for years and not once has tried to snap or nip at any of the staff. So 1 it shows how they do not take the time to actually get to know the patients. Again I’ve been coming here for YEARS. Then today, I see the doctor for not even 2 minutes for an “exam” and I’m slapped with a $200 bill and upsold on medications and cleaners and told to go to Amazon for a flush and look at a website for food options. When online constantly tells me “talk to a vet”. I asked about a bump on his neck and was told “it’s probably a tumor we can cut it off during a dental visit while he’s under anesthesia (mind you not once have I mentioned taking my dog for a dental visit so this was random and out of the blue) or poke it and get a sample. We can talk about options” and not one option was presented to me after bringing something up that could be cancerous is terrifying and I expected it to be handled with more care. I will say the woman assistant was so helpful and caring when answering my questions and handling my dog with care. I could hear her talking to him from down the hall and was very satisfied with my interaction with her. Again, I’ve been coming here for years and I think it’s time for another place.
August 29 · Marissa AndersonIf I could give this veterinary clinic a 20/10 I would. All the staff all the way down to the front receptionist Marley are caring & helpful & nice!! They always make you feel welcomed and cared for with any concerns that you have about your pet. I have been coming here for about 5 years now & won't go anywhere else. Great staff, Professional & the clinic is always very clean. Highly recommend.
June 12 · Vanessa SchaflerI've been there several times for my two different dogs, received excellent service every time. The staff explained to me plainly what was wrong, what needed or should be done, and were very professional and kind with my critters.Cost-Wise, a brief physical and pain medication for my small breed cost a little over $100. Full blood work plus a physical ran around $400.The head nurse or veterinarian or whatever is very kind, but her eyes look like she's stared into the gates of hell.
July 02 · JoshWe had to put our beloved Max down last week and the staff was so kind and comforting. Today we picked up his ashes and they went above and beyond for us. They had his ashes in a beautiful wooden lockbox with his name on it. I wish I could post a picture of it. It was so incredibly thoughtful and unexpected. Thank you Paws! You are the best!
June 06 · Carol LadsonThis is a perfect example of how crucial the reception/front office can be at an animal hospital. I wish I would’ve read the reviews before I went. I took a couple of my precious pets there over the course of a few months. Waiting times got longer and longer, as you hear inappropriate conversation about past clients through the door. I noticed every time I would see the doctor she would repeat the same things over and over. It’s very unprofessional and leads you to assume they either think you are stupid or they just simply don’t remember you. Took over a week to get a prescription, received wrong information from reception on treatments that were given. Time after time getting promised that the doctor would get “right back” to me. Also, had a hard time getting records when I decided not return to this office. Dr Senter at Mesa animal is amazing. I would try there or anywhere other than this clinic.
