Pet Surgery Center of New York Reviews
We love Dog & Bone Club! Our puppy, Henny, always has a great time, comes home tired, she's making friends and getting out of her shell. She somehow knows when we're going to day care and pretty much pulls us there with excitement. We also got her groomed today and she's so cute and clean, they did a great job.The staff is amazing as well. Everyone we've interacted with has been so kind and informative. You can tell they really love and care about their job.
April 14 · Kyle SwoyerThis Review is for Bath/Grooming only. This is my 2nd time here. The remaining two stars is that I still think this is a decent neighborhood pet place, Daniel (the manager) was friendly and caring, and I like that their website is well set up and the whole process here is just easy and clear. So what happened was Daniel called me up halfway during the bath, told me that the groomer found out there’s severe shedding, and my dog has double coat. They wanted my consent to add on the deShedding as additional service ($30 extra). I understood it was a necessary process and I appreciated that he informed me ahead of time, so I had no problem with that.My problem is when I got home (my bf picked her up) – I realized that there were still obvious double coat around her neck and tummy, so obvious that once you touch her, you can feel it. I thought it might be just one or two spots missed, but then I found out only the majority of her back was properly taken care of, all the rest there were still hair tangled all up, and I had to spend 30+ mins to finish myself. (2nd pic was just from the left side of her back)I also knew that the deshedding wasn’t fully and carefully done, because the hair behind one ear was matted. And we specifically asked them to take care of that when we dropped her off. The matted hair ball was still there when we got her back… they didn’t even try to break that off. Again, I had to take care of that myself. I mean if you already charged extra for the service, I would hope and expect that it should be done thoroughly.Worst part was I actually found a cut on her neck. It’s small but quite deep (like a little dent). I understand small accident might happen, but I would appreciate it if this can be brought up when we picked her up, so at least we were notified, and we could take care of the wound. Yet nothing was mentioned, and it’s just heart-breaking for any dog owner to see a fresh cut w/ blood still on it.Additionally when we checked in, we asked if the bath service includes paw trimming, and got a confirmed yes. We would update to full grooming if some services are excluded for the bath section. But when we got her back, none of the paws were trimmed… at all. The hair was still long and dirty, again, I had to trim them down myself…Overall, I’m disappointed cause I actually like how they operate the place, and their price is reasonable. I thought I found a go to grooming place for my dog. Even though the first time I realized usually one grooming will last at least a week for my dog to smell good and look clean. But with Dog&Bone, after 1-2 days, my dog doesn’t look like she’s been recently groomed. I let this go the 1st time as I thought maybe they were just not using a strong scented shampoo. But this time with so many missed spots, I can no longer recommend this place with full confidence.Like the other review, this time my dog’s condition has gone worse after the bath. I know she’s an old dog and her legs are not supporting her as well as before. But the day before she was still pretty active and she was able to jump on the sofa. But afterwards, she has been struggling with getting up and has been lying down almost the whole day till now. I can’t 100% say something happened or maybe just mentally traumatized her during the bath, but it must be a not very pleasant experience (the cut and everything…) for her. I have a vet appointment lining up and hopefully it’s nothing.I had high hopes for Dog&Bone, people work there seem genuine and you can tell they are making an effort to do things right. It’s a pity that I can’t 100% trust the service they provide anymore.
November 01 · Snow. SunThe Dog and Bone team was great! I took in my dog for grooming. I had a bad experience at another groomer in the area the day before. Glory listened to my experience and assured me there would be no problems. Eva was the groomer and did a great job! Eva was also very kind and knowledgeable. This place is great! And they also sent me a report card with pictures of my dogs experience which was beyond cute.
December 31 · Raymond MendozaI took my 2 babies here and they were wonderful ! My Australian shepherd, Yoshi has extreme noise anxiety and they took good care of him and gave him a great hair cut and made him cute and fluffy ! And my husky smelled great and his fur was super soft ! When I came to pick them up, they both seem happy (:
September 26 · Yaritza Bustamante De PazAvoid this place as well as the Instavet (same owner) at all cost!!Shortish version of what happened to our dog:Our dog was nicked during a sanitary trim at Dog and Bone club, and was was bleeding a little when we wiped the area where she was nicked. She has razor burn so severe that we had to put a cone on her to prevent her from constantly licking herself. What became very worrying was that she has not eaten much, drank very little, and has not peeped or pooped, and just lies there at home for the past 24 hours, refusing to move.We tried speaking to the manager, Daniel, when we bumped into him at the vet, and he said "1 sec" and never got back to us. Eli (business owner) followed up while our dog was getting a x-ray to explain to us that they didn't do anything wrong and that they are not liable to pay for our dog's care, even though we never indicated in any way that we wanted them to.No matter what, a dog who has never had any issues with grooming, should not be in this state after a sanitary trim. And no mater what, someone should have communicated to us what had happened. After what has occurred and the way the whole situation was handled, we no longer feel safe or OK leaving our dog here. It eventually took our dog A WEEK to get back to her usual self.Longer version with more details can be found on their yelp pages.
