★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If you are looking for excellent veterinary care and a very welcoming environment, this is the place! Everyone is honestly the best here. We've established a relationship with Seymour Veterinary Hospital for our babies, two cats, Andromeda and Nova and our dog Peyton. Both Dr. Gumprecht and Dr. Budris have helped with exams and excellent gentle care for our fur babies. They've fit us in extremely quick with critical appointments a few times already. Everyone is very well-spoken and clear with their advice and explanations. I've even received multiple calls to check in on our cats, who are currently on antibiotics. Even our dog, who was a rescue and is extremely anxious, did terrific with everyone in the back! Once we first got into the lobby, I knew this was where we'll be staying. I could not recommend them enough.
August 21 · Greg KThis veterinary practice is absolutely the best! All of our animals (past and present) have been cared for by them. Most recently we had to put our dear cat Tina down due an aggressive form of bone cancer. She was 17 years old. The team there are so kind and compassionate and our family is so thankful for them. To the doctors and the staff at this vet office, this does not go unnoticed. Thank you for every kind word and gesture. I would highly recommend them!
June 27 · Lisa CollinsEdit: they claim our dog was in comatose- he was NOT. He was fully conscious the day he was euthanized, and walked himself into the vet. They did not answer any emails or calls until I wrote these reviews and a week later they finally returned the call. Not to mention- after disputing the Vet's charge with my bank's approval, Seymour Vet later reversed the dispute WITHOUT my consent AFTER I had already disputed the charge, changed my card number, and ended all association with this corporation. Shameful is an understatement. We brought our dog in on Friday expecting treatment for his condition, myiasis. Unfortunately, Dr. Lisa Gumprecht was the doctor who saw our dog Jack that day. After examining him for less than two minutes, she explained that the myiasis spread to his butt. I asked if he was suffering, and she told me he was. I find it very hard to believe that she could have been so certain of that by just looking at his wound, before even considering trying treatment. And if that wasn’t possible, she did not care enough to explain to us why that why treatment was not an option, how much he was suffering, etc. We thankfully caught the Myalisis early since I kept a close eye on his opened wound, daily, which gave us hope. He was eating, drinking, and walking the day before. So when she told us that putting him down would be “the kind thing to do”, i started to have a panic attack and went into a state of shock and confusion. This woman lacked compassion and empathy like I’ve never experienced before. She handed my grandpa and I a single tissue for our tears, thanks! There was zero step-by-step explanation of the process, it was just “ok here’s the papers” and I signed them. My grandpa and I felt very rushed and unsupported during one of the hardest moments of our life, losing our sweet boy of almost 20 years, forever. I chose to stay in the room with Jack while my grandpa waited outside. She did not offer me any paw prints or fur. I had to ask for her to shave a piece of fur off, and thank God I thought of that when I did, because we would’ve never had his fur if I didn’tz. She could care less about offering us anything to remember him by. Next, the doctor informed me that she was sedating him, so I assumed she would inform me when the euthanization needle was coming. However, she did not inform me. Instead, the next thing she said was “He’s gone now”. I didn’t get a chance to hold his paw or hug him or have any last words with him as he was leaving this earth, the way I planned to. After he was gone, she told me she would wrap him so we can take him home. Given how sudden and fast this all happened, you’d think she would offer us some time to go buy him a casket, or even a box. Instead, he was buried in the old, used blanket that they wrapped him in. The vet tech, Ari, who was working alongside the doctor, had much more compassion and sympathy than the doctor did. That speaks volume. This doctor rushed my grandpa and I through something permanent and irreversible. We’ve never put an animal down before, we had no idea what was going on or what to expect. As soon as I walked out of the room after Jack was put down, the first thing they asked for was my debit card. No condolences, nothing. The only person who gave us her condolences was the vet tech, Ari. She was and is a sweetheart. After speaking with others who’ve put down animals before, we’ve come to realize how terrible we were treated, which is why I’m writing this review. Please, do not ever trust Dr. Lisa around your old aged animal. That woman lacks everything a Veterinarian is supposed to be.I called the manager on Monday and asked for a refund and Jack’s muzzle back, since the doctor didn’t even offer it for us to keep.Turns out, “corporate” will not give me a partial discount, and it seems that the doctor threw away our dog’s muzzle (because it surely doesn’t take 4 days to locate). If you’re throwing it out, why not ask if we’d like it before? Yes it’s a muzzle, but it was a piece of Jack. It meant nothing to her, but meant the world to us.
July 02 · Karinna PomaThe clinic was great. I have and will continue to highly recommend to anyone. I really appreciated all the advice the doctor had and willingness to answer all the questions of a new puppy owner/mom.
August 05 · NikoleI have been going here since I moved to the neighborhood 9 years ago first with two elderly dogs that have since passed, our cat who is 14 and our new pups who are now 2 and 3.The staff is incredibly friendly, professional and compassionate. My pups just love them too!The Doctors are a rare find as they just don't have a job that they are trained to do but they genuinely care for every pet that comes through their door. The Veterinarians here aren't about ungodly amount of unnecessary tests and hurrying to get you in and out the door. They are compassionate, fair and informative. They truly love every pet and respect the pets humans. So if you have to wait a little to get a new puppy or kitten in, then doesn't that speak for itself? It just solidifies what I said and that they are just that good.
