Had my dog in for a groom. He’s a double coated dog and his top coat was not in bad condition. He was blowing his undercoat and needed to be brushed out and bathed. I asked them to shave his belly for summer, which is standard for his breed. Instead the groomer completely shaved off his top coat. Gouged his chest and complained to us that it took too long to dry him. I booked him for 4 hours because that’s how long it takes to groom him. A simple google search would tell anyone that you cannot shave this breed without causing health problems such as loss of temperature control, dangerous sun exposure, rashes, etc. I’m so angry. When I brought it up they did nothing. Not to mention his coat is all hacked up and he’s injured. PetCo needs to train its groomers. Don’t use them, even for a basic bath.

This is the worst Petco I have ever seen. It’s dirty. The staff is nasty. The manager is rigid. The aquariums are filthy And their customer service is nonexistentI highly suggest you go to Petco in Pittsfield, which is so much better. We Bought a dog gate and the service was so bad we finally said I just gotta get out of here. We tried to return it three days later unopened and they refused.We had the credit card we had purchased it withEverybody every decent business will take a return these days if you have the credit card you paid for it with, and you didn’t use the itemThis is like going back to 1957By the time we were finished, they banned me from the store, which was actually a gift because there are two pet stores in Pittsfield that are both really goodThey have new employees every week because no one can stand it thereVery small inventory nasty staff filthy store otherwise it’s terrific

I’ve been standing in the wet pet area for 30 minutes and there are 2 employees at the register with 3 girls gawking over their ferret. The older employee looked me dead in my face 3 times and went right back to what she was doing.Whether it’s this store in Great Barrington or the one in Pittsfield, the service is nearly the same with Pittsfield being a tad better but overall, Petco needs to do something about the service in these stores.

At checkout, I purchased 2 items marked clearance. They denied they were on clearance, and the clerk sent a young man to check, and he tore off the clearance stickers and handed them to the clerk. Then, I had to follow the clerk to the area where I pulled the 2 items. You could see where the stickers were torn. Stores that are not aware of their stock? No, thank you.

Great Barrington, MA. Store is outdated. Dark aisles due to lack of light bulbs. Limited staff leaving the registers empty. Store needs a serious upgrade.
