I bought a group class for my 7 months Labrador.I specified that I have a problem with walking bc she pulls. I asked before I bought the classes if a puppy can walk with loose-leash and the trainer say yes. She knows her name, sit, down, paw, other paw, spins, and even stay at home and outside she’s existed. The first class he only work on the “sit” and “no jump” she knows but she was very excited. The 2nd class start 15 mi late and he asked if she knows give paw? I answered everything she knows and I said my problem is the walk, and then he keep working on the “sit” and then finish the class 20 min early. So I tell him that and his answer was bc she seems like she pulls a lot and hard to control her you need a specific harness. I just took my dog and left very disappointed. He’s very young obviously no experience at all it was no show of a skill to control a puppy. Wasted a time wasted a money.

I went to the fish section, those working were engaged in conversations with themselves and not concerned about what I needed for our new pet. I asked questions and they pointed down the aisle and then continued talking to eachother. At the cash register, I asked the young man for the price of an item because the in-store scanner was not functioning, and they rang up the item without telling me the cost expecting me to pay. I kindly asked him to cancel the item, repeating that I simply needed a price check. Help was not given and the prices for most things seemed unreasonable. Maybe my expectations were too high. I expected to find employees that were animal enthusiasts, ready and willing to help...people invested in the well being of creatures big and small...and that's not what I encountered. Needless to say, I walked out empty handed.

It was really nice to come here. The animals were cute and friendly and were fun to watch. They had a good selection of animals, from hamsters to cats, birds, fish, and many reptiles. However, it smelled off and gross in some areas.

Went to Petco on 4/7/25 and was met by Janet, who has helped us a few times in the past. She is always welcoming and ready to assist when we have a question, and will take us directly to the product that we're looking for while explaining the different items available. This trip, we were looking for a wound care product that is safe for dogs as ours keeps licking at the hard-to-wrap area on her foot. Janet took the time to check the ingredients and directions on each item to help us make a more informed choice. Ramsey has a lot of great employees but Janet is absolutely fantastic!

Will no longer be shopping at Petco until they stop abusing their betta fish. They have over 50 in small cups. No heater, no enrichment, no space to move in dirty water. Most looked like they were dying, some were already dead. I ended up taking one home with severe fin rot that quickly recovered with basic care like warm clean water with space to swim. This would be similar to having a cat live in a dirty cat carrier in a room that's too cold with nothing to do. I hope one day they will do better.
