Went in to buy dog food on Sunday and do my usual looking at cute pets, what I found was a mouse cage covered in blood, on the back grate, all over the side, all on the front glass and one curled up, scared little mouse that was clearly being torn apart. Upon making management aware I got the strong feeling they didn’t care much and wouldn’t help him so I took him (they sold him at a discount due to his injuries) and drove him immediately to our nearest exotic pet vet, he started a course of antibiotics but sadly passed yesterday afternoon, I know it’s just a mouse but I’m still emotionally not alright.I’m glad he was so happy his last couple days, glad I was able to show him love and compassion. However, I will say I am absolutely disgusted with everything that happened in that store, the carelessness of the manager that Sunday July 6th, 2025 at around 1-2pm (older lady with brown/dirty blonde hair), even more disgusted after the vet told me it’s IMPOSSIBLE the mouse “had been alright in the morning” as per their medical knowledge, the mouse had been like this for atleast a few days. I have worked at PETCO, I have had the pleasure of having managers that RUN injured pets (including mice) to the vet, RUN, not walk, even when we were understaffed, because the pets well being and lives are not negotiable, it should be 1st priority at all times no matter what, and if that’s something you can assure as PETCO, then maybe you shouldn’t have a million stores open when you clearly don’t have enough staff for them all. Leaving animals to bleed and suffer o death in the same store that “guarantee all lives pets will be healthy” is disgusting, nauseating. Fix It
July 09 · LA SCThis was the worst, I normally never give bad reviews but this experience was terrible, we took our goldendoodle as we have for a year and a half to Petco and we explicitly asked the groomer to not cut too much, we wanted the hair to grow a bit longer and we just wanted a nice light groom and cut out a bit off the top, with a teddy bear cut.Instead we got the shortest cut we’ve ever gotten with a horrible cut and looks so bad.I think the groomer was either fed up, or simply did not care about his job, when we dropped him off he mentioned that he had to leave early that day or something, we figured that he would just be warning us so we pick the pup on time, but apparently he was just tired and just wanted to get the cut done and bail out.When we picked up the dog he wasn’t even there to present the dog to us, which I don’t blame him as he did such a poor job that I would have been super embarrassed to deliver the dog in this condition.The dog had no matting and we often brush his hair so them arguing that they “had to cut the hair shorter” is not an excuse for the poorest grooming job I’ve ever seen.Petco does charge a good penny for grooming and we will now stop taking our pet there or to any other petco for groomingI included a couple before photos and only one after photo :’(

Got there 11min to spare, walk around store looking dor fish attendant since there was only one person at counter.Couldn't find so went to wait in line at register. Saw an attendant and asked for help. She looked at watch 8:50 " our fish department is closed."Okay, just needed some feeders, I left drove to PetSMART, got there at 8:53p, walked out with 2 different sizes of fish in 2 bags at 9p.PetSmart ROCKS!Used to say:Very good service, extremely knowledgeable fish expert. Fun experience, great value.
August 06 · John DonnellyI had one of the worst shopping experiences I’ve ever had at the Petco in Federal Way all because of a cashier named LaTwon. From the start, she was extremely rude and aggressive—not only toward me but even toward another customer who had a service dog resting on her shoulder. Instead of showing professionalism, she openly bad-mouthed that customer in front of me, which was shocking and uncomfortable to witness.While that was going on, LaTwon handled my items carelessly and actually broke one of the products I was purchasing. With how aggressive she was I was extremely scared to ask about it being replaced. On top of that, she flat-out refused to give me a bag for the rest of my purchases.What made things worse was her language. She used several cuss words and even derogatory remarks during the entire interaction, which was completely unprofessional and made the entire store feel hostile.This kind of treatment absolutely ruined my shopping trip. I left upset and uncomfortable, and I will never recommend this Petco location to anyone. Customers deserve respect and professionalism, not to be treated this way. If google would allow a 0 star review as a option I would have given that. This isn't deserving of the 1 star I gave due to it being the only option.
September 05 · Kimblee LeeStore was properly stocked and had what I needed plus some extras. The reason for a 3 star is the cashier never even acknowledged me. The only words she spoke was did you need a bag. I felt like I was an annoyance to her work.
