The philosophy at Wantage Veterinary Hospital is built on a simple yet profound principle: putting pets first. This means providing a personalized level of care that is often lost in larger, multi-doctor facilities. The staff and veterinarians take the time to get to know each pet's unique needs, building a relationship of trust that makes a significant difference, especially during difficult times. This is evidenced by a powerful review from a long-term client who stated, "Dr. Bullock and her staff are wonderful! They were very supportive of me and my dog when he was battling Cushing's and cancer. They answered all my questions and they were flexible with appointments. When it was his time, they supported be through the process and took excellent care of me and my dog. They are now taking excellent care of my young dog. There is nowhere else I would take him as his primary care veterinarian." This kind of enduring trust speaks volumes about the hospital's dedication and compassion, showcasing their ability to handle both the happy moments and the sad ones with equal grace and professionalism.

What is worth choosing Wantage Veterinary Hospital is the unique blend of a small-practice feel with big-practice capabilities. For New Jersey pet owners, this combination is a significant benefit. While a smaller practice, the hospital is equipped with an in-house laboratory, surgical suite, and a full pharmacy, which means they can handle a wide range of needs without referring you elsewhere. This saves time, reduces stress, and allows for a more integrated approach to your pet's health. The personal touch, where the staff truly gets to know you and your pet, is something that cannot be replicated in a larger, more impersonal setting. This bond of trust is what makes difficult situations, such as a pet battling a serious illness, more manageable. The long-term client who praised the hospital for their support during their dog's cancer battle is a powerful example of this.
While a review did highlight a concern about pricing transparency, it's important to consider that a full-service hospital with in-house resources will have a different pricing structure than an online pharmacy. The convenience of immediate access to medication, especially for a sick pet, often justifies the cost for many pet owners. The kindness and professionalism of the staff, which are consistently praised, are qualities that many people value above all else. For residents of New Jersey seeking a veterinary partner they can rely on for everything from routine inoculations to complex surgery, Wantage Veterinary Hospital offers a compelling choice. Their dedication to personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care makes them an invaluable asset to the local community and a truly worthy choice for your pet's health.

July 21 · Sarah HealeyThe vet and vet techs were very kind but I feel taken advantage of. Through all the chaos and worry bringing a sick pet to the vet I was not showed how much everything was until after I paid. Assuming the price was for taking care of my dogs wound, I was actually charged 4x the amount for a prescription that could have been sent to Chewy for much less. Very disappointed.
July 14 · Kristen MDr. Bullock and her staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. We just moved into the area and I was able to get an appointment quickly and even squeeze in my other dog who was struggling too. They were able to help my dogs with a quick diagnosis and transfer to ER for my girl Blue. They followed up with my dogs, and were very patient with me and all of my questions. Highly recommend!! The other 2 in my pack will be headed in soon for their checkups. ♡
June 21 · Keri MVörðr is still very nervous around new people. As a German Shepherd/ Belgian Malinois mix puppy who is not even yet 6mos. old, yet is 70lb+ , he can also seem a bit intimidating!!However he warmed up to Vet Tech "Hope" immediately and even after 3 shots (😢) STILL took a liking to her and Dr. BULLOCK)!!Personally, I appreciated having all of my questions & concerns addressed by each of them, without feeling like I was being rushed out the door!Glad we made the choice that we did and look forward to a lifetime relationship here!
August 22 · Heather GuestThe most friendly and caring and knowledgeable staff ever! Dr. Bullock is so wonderful she goes beyond the regular exam and knew everything about my Great Pryness puppy, which I had researched but she gave me more insight which was wonderful! She took her time I never felt rushed. She is sweet and caring and doesn't mind you asking questions. The Veterinary Technician was very friendly, very knowledgeable, wonderful with my puppy. She also explained everything that she was doing and why; including his vaccines! Which I have NEVER experienced before. Tiffany at the front desk was very friendly and very helpful professionaI but also has a great sense of humor. They all go out of their way to help meet your pets and your needs like no other veterinary hospital I have ever been to. I have been going back ever since I got my puppy and will always go there. No other place compares! Highly recommend to friends and family!
