While the list of services paints a picture of a well-equipped practice, it is crucial to also consider the experiences of actual clients. The available public data includes feedback that offers a different perspective on the day-to-day operations of the business. The provided reviews highlight some significant concerns that prospective clients should be aware of. One review speaks of a deeply frustrating experience involving a crucial appointment that was canceled at the last minute, after the owner had already taken time off from work. This customer's frustration was compounded by a previous experience where the practice could not accommodate an urgent appointment, leading to a costly emergency vet visit. The review expresses a feeling that the practice does not respect the client's time, money, or the pet's health. The customer felt that the lack of communication and the last-minute cancellation were "unprofessional" and "dismissive." Another review suggests that the business may be closed, stating that the user went to the location before closing time and found it shut, and a follow-up phone call was never returned. The reviewer concludes, "I would say they are closed for good."
These firsthand accounts directly contrast with the expectation of reliable "After Hours Care" and "Animal Emergency" services listed by the business itself. The reviews indicate potential issues with scheduling and responsiveness, which are critical for a veterinary practice.
For more information or to inquire about services and scheduling, you can contact Animal House using the following details:
- Address: 21 Red Brook Rd, Bourne, MA 02532, USA
- Phone: (508) 759-4522
It is important to remember that as of the date of the review, there are public accounts suggesting that the business may be closed, and that the phone number may not be actively monitored. It would be advisable to call and confirm their operational status before planning a visit.
When considering a veterinary provider in Massachusetts, the choice often comes down to a balance of services, location, and the quality of care and communication. Based on the public information provided, Animal House offers a remarkably broad range of services, including everything from routine wellness exams and vaccinations to complex surgical and reproductive procedures. The presence of an on-site laboratory and a wide variety of medical offerings makes them a potentially comprehensive option for many pet health needs. However, it is essential for prospective clients to take into account the serious concerns raised in recent customer reviews. The feedback about last-minute appointment cancellations, lack of accommodation for urgent cases, and unreturned phone calls suggests that the client experience and operational reliability may not consistently match the breadth of the services listed. Furthermore, a direct user review suggests the business might no longer be operational. Therefore, while the extensive list of services may be appealing, it is highly recommended that any potential new clients verify the current business hours and operational status and carefully consider the feedback on communication and scheduling before committing to this practice for their pet’s care.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’m heartbroken and beyond frustrated. I took the day off work—something I absolutely can’t do lightly—because I was told this appointment was important. But halfway through the day, I get a call saying it needs to be rescheduled.Last Wednesday, we rushed to the emergency vet hospital because the situation was urgent. The hospital told us our cat needed to be seen by our regular vet by Friday to start a new medication and diet based on her diagnosis. When we called, the vet told us they were booked until Monday—like that urgency meant nothing. So we had no choice but to go back to the hospital on Friday and pay again, just to make sure she got the care she needed. And now, after finally getting an appointment—after I clearly told the staff I’d be taking off work to make sure she was seen, because they told us it was important—they cancel it last minute like it doesn’t matter. Our cat hasn’t eaten regularly in over two weeks, and at this point, it feels like no one at this vet truly cares. They just pass along a prescription without even taking a look at my pet? Screams unprofessional. The first situation, I could understand. Emergencies are unpredictable. But this second time? It makes it painfully clear they don’t respect our time, our money, or most importantly, our cat’s health. This isn’t just poor scheduling—it’s dismissive and genuinely hurtful.

October 27 · Rebecca MayhewDr. Lappin and staff are outstanding! They offer guidance and support throughout the life of your dog. My new puppy is my 3rd dog they have cared for. I was given lots of time and professional advice. My new puppy was treated gently and thoroughly checked out!
September 07 · Luanne GilbertDr. Lappin and Staff are all so wonderful and loving to our Golden. Always takes time to answer all our questions with patience and does not rush our appointments. Makes us feel special each time we visit.
